How do you go about asking the seller if you can purchase with PayPal instead? I want to buy a doll but with the new mercari fees it's too much! do you get flagged or your message erased if you ask through mercari's chat?

You can ask them for their phone number possibly, I would ask “do you have other sites you sell on?” It does get deleted but not asap so make sure the seller is active talking to you so they can see it. But I agree the new fees are ridiculous. I just bought a new camera for my pictures and it was listed as 1,085- mercari new fees made me nearly 1,300… asked to pay on PayPal only paid 1,112 . Just make sure they’re willing to work with you some are picky and saying this is their only site they sell on or some say this one doesn’t take away fees, if that’s the case send them a low offer if not you can find something better :) best of luck to you!
