I am a born and bread Londoner. When I left it was with regret. Now, if you even offered me a £5m mansion in London, I would turn it down. This is because, we, in our street have something I never had anywhere in London… neighbours… I know everyone in my street and are chatting friends with most. This spreads to a next street too. We also look out for each other. When anyone is away, we all keep an eye on their place. We also do things like water their plants. From our front door, there is a score of lovely walks. Some of those walks take me to a village mentioned in the Domesday book, the sight of twelfth century windmill (the oldest of its type in the UK), an eleventh century church, 16th century manor house, a four-hundred year old tree, the sight of an old railway, the Grand Union Canal, farm buildings of various antiquity. On that walk I can breathe in air that is so clean because of the parks and woodlands surrounding. A ten minute drive takes us to a 11th century abbey, a town so very involved in the ECW, a coaching town that has the original Cock & Ball plus several other important places, the sight of the first diesel engine, the factory that used to build the greatest British car (Aston Martin), The best University in the world (OU), many Roman and Medieval sights… and of course: Bletchley Park, one of the most important places in the world…
I often get asked why I like living in Milton Keynes. This video sums up the reasons I give. Green open spaces that are easy to cycle and walk through and water everywhere.
The lake, fabulous. The pyramid of light, spectacular. The huge shopping mall, exhilarating. Goosebumps every night before I sleep, all for MK. Can’t sleep, MK. Wake up sweating, MK.
Amazing drone footage, thank you for making this beautiful video. First time visited MK back in early 80's on my school trip from London, look so much different now.
Very nice video. You can get excellent results from those small quads despite their tiny sensors. I kept track of the development of the Hotel La Tour and planned on doing an FPV flyby and dives when it opened last year and did another Campbell Park FPV tour this year - always on midsummers day. I obtained my A2 CofC then GVC for business just in case the Parks Trust had any issues - but they were cool. Have flown at most of the locations in your video.
yeah - including the crashes. In this summer's flights, I had a two second VTX drop out as I dived the hotel on the east side. I then had a couple of RC / telemetry failures but luckily I have GPS failsafe enabled on my self built LR quads and I was able to recover.
Looking for some advice please if you can help 🙏 As a family we are thinking of moving to Milton Keynes to be near family in Oxford. Is it a nice place to live (we've only visited a few times) and are there any areas to avoid living in?
Have to say what a cracking video and music with not a concrete cow in sight 🤣 It’s shame at 2:52 they’ve removed the windmill sails at it really made that part of town special. Brilliant drone footage as well and like other comments here, it’s amazing how green and lush the place looks from the air! 👍 Perhaps do a video of all the outlining villages of Milton Keynes? Stoney Stratford with its history to Yardley Gobian to Castlethorpe in that neck of the woods, to Passingham Manor to Calverton on the other side, but just make sure you don’t go too close to Hanslope Park or you’ll find a laser will shoot your drone out of the sky 😳
You build a city from scratch and still build terraced housing? MK needs to develop only big detached homes from now on. It also needs a skyscraper district (business and residential) to entice businesses to MK.
My intention when making this video was to show parts of MK that I love and the ones that are appealing to me :) out of curiosity though, which Lakes Estate do you refer to? Perhaps I’m not aware - it’s only been 3 years for me :)
@@magdavrabetz Put it this way; Bletchley is the worst part of MK. The Lakes Estate is the worst part of Bletchley, it is a place where you experience soul death, so stay away. There are some nice parts to MK as you know, I recommend Caldecotte if you are coming back this way. Very scenic. You've got a lake, a windmill, a pub, what else do you need? Nice work btw.
@@deathbysnusnu515 i agree it is not all beautiful :) love Caldecotte!! These flats with massive balconies are just the dream! Sadly, I can’t really afford staying at MK but these were some really lovely 3 years 😍 and thank you! :)
Hi, I have an apartment overlooking the lake, The Caldecotte lost its sails a few years ago now! Think the cost of new ones plus maintenance has resulted in them being left off for the foreseeable future sadly😢

What is that ugly 'light pyramid'? Is it 'art' like the concrete cows? Why does MK hate the natural world and anything organic so much? Why concrete over that little 'hill' ... was it always a hillock or is it artificial?
Honestly, I am not sure what is the purpose of the light pyramid 😂 I'm sure it has something to do with the sunlight moving along but I defo had higher expectations before seeing it 🤣 In that location, I guess they could have gone for something a little more "majestic", even if it's artificial...

Exactly! Unfortunately it becomes too expensive 😔
It looks a very family friendly city.
Lovely video. The strange thing about it is how much more rural it looks from the air as opposed to the ground.

The tall-block hotel is unwelcome - going diametrically against the whole ethos & aesthetic of Milton Keynes.
It looks better now its finished, but it still stands out like the first tooth growing in the mouth of a child.

I saw the writing on the wall. Sold up and moved out in 1983. Milton Keynes has only gotten worse since then.
On the ground level you are surrounded by expressionless, soulless folk all going through their mid life crisis
You only showed the trees in MK because the "city" is so damn ugly!
