The dragonborn thing is the perfect move for a emperor. "Only my family can rule because you will die otherwise!" Kinda like Vivec's Baar Dau being "Love me or die!" Also a humanised Morihaus feels to me like painting a white Jesus when he obviously was middle eastern.
Which is probably why some say that Morihaus was human. When it comes to mythologies and prophets, the culture that adopts it portrays it to be more like them; like Jesus and Morihaus. Christianity in Japan always portray Jesus as Japanese, like how English cultures portray him as white, etc

Is the Divine Crusader armor what Pelinal wore or is it just inspired by what he wore? I always thought he was much more advanced and the person who created the Crusader armor just used the materials they had at the time.
An interesting conversation. On the topic of guilty until proven innocent and the difficulty and hardship of such things, and how this was the case in our own world until relatively recently and in some places still is, it can be illuminating to think about how in some cultures, such as ancient Rome, not only were suspects tortured for confessions or to test for guilt, but witnesses were also tortured to see if they were telling the truth and the whole truth. Further, as for what effect a religious based law is going to have on the system and whether they will have any interest in what the defendant even says in their behalf, it will largely depend upon whether that society has a mechanism for reconciliation, such as the Auto-de-Fe in the lands where the Inquisition was present, or whether there was not, such as in most protestant lands where witch trials more routinely resulted in execution.
When are we getting a video on the actual Elders scrolls and their lore, I've always been fascinated by the scrolls and would love to hear Drew's thoughts about them
Scott, the story you're thinking of is, iirc, when someone suggested that Pelinal was a Shezzarine and that very night, that person was choked to death by moths.
Scott's idea of a Elder Scrolls game in first era jungle Cyrodiil with Belharza the minotaur as emperor could be made by Obsidian after TES6. I like the sound of 'THE ELDER SCROLLS: ALLESSIAN EMPIRE'
I think it is because of the Kalpa Cycles that the Elder Scrolls societies haven’t progressed to more modern technologies. They act as a kind of reset button. With that said, it’ll be interesting to see how future Elder Scrolls games will look considering that you stop Alduin, the one who would’ve brought a new Kalpa.
Maybe they designed Pelinal's armor to look like the Hero of Kvatch in the future that then went to the past and eventually got put back together in the Knights of the Nine and inspire its own creation.
Late on the draw However I was stoked to hear (I think Drew?) Talking about, from elven perspective, what right did Humans have to remove Auriel's elven aspects. I actually agree. Humans AND Elves have no right to tamper with divine forces. The soul is divine and that's partly why I dislike soul trapping, and that's why I keep talking about Varla stones. They were able to create weapons so powerful they pierced Pelinal White strakes armor. They can grant a form of "immortality." Ayleids had no reason to be so cruel besides inherent cruelty. Incredibly ahead of their time. I feel like Bethesda messed up not adding the option to enchant weapons with Varla stones like the Ayleids could By the way I constantly find myself debunking topics and claims on Facebook with y'all's videos. Do Sithis and the dark brotherhood next, lots of people think sithis is non sentient and just mephala trolling but evidence seems to point otherwise. Wanna here your take.
Second this
If Michael doesn’t come back as a half crazed God I’ll be disappointed...
Maybe
When you guys say "You should be familiar with this we have discussed it before" I freak out. Giving me flashbacks of school all over again when a teacher says we are having a test.
The dragonborn thing is the perfect move for a emperor. "Only my family can rule because you will die otherwise!" Kinda like Vivec's Baar Dau being "Love me or die!"
Also a humanised Morihaus feels to me like painting a white Jesus when he obviously was middle eastern.
Which is probably why some say that Morihaus was human. When it comes to mythologies and prophets, the culture that adopts it portrays it to be more like them; like Jesus and Morihaus. Christianity in Japan always portray Jesus as Japanese, like how English cultures portray him as white, etc
The lords mail is suposed to be his armor so well he might not be human he's definitely humanoid and not just a literal.winged bull
@@vonfaustien3957 perhaps he even had two forms: that of a winged bull and that of a man
jesus wasnt full blown middle eastern also btw
@@visperad541 illusion magic?
Elder scrolls podcast is like the thing people didnt know they needed but they do
Petition to stop all hostilities towards Minotaurs. Sons and daughters of Morihaus deserve better.
Please bring back the Elder Scrolls Podcast and do an episode on Pelinal. I love how interpretable his lore is. Is he a magic god, a robot from the future, a player's character from the TTRPG that spawned the elder scrolls? I must hear your theories!
Love these podcasts !! Helps me relax. love from new york 💗
Got off work an hour early, bundled up on my couch all warm and snug, drinking my tea - Today's a good day. 😊
Still waiting for the Asir podcast. All creatures of Nirn deserve a chance in the spotlight. As the creator of the Asir lore, id be happy to collab with FudgeMuppet. The Ants from the Stump in Riverwood NEED to be recognized.
Can you do an episode on the Tribunal? I know you've done videos on them, but I'd like to know more, if there is more.
PS~ F for Michael
I’ve been waiting for this one!
Im so glad this podcast is a thing
The Wailing Wheels of Vin Diesel
F for Michael's internet. His ISP could use some tonal architecture.
Fs in Chat for Michael.
He was a brave one.
When are we getting a video on the actual Elders scrolls and their lore, I've always been fascinated by the scrolls and would love to hear Drew's thoughts about them
These were their eastern chieftains, no longer full of their talking. Well, Pelinal forgot about the podcast Chieftains, still talking away.
I love relistenibg or watching while I’m at work or while I smoke looool! Never gets old
I think it is because of the Kalpa Cycles that the Elder Scrolls societies haven’t progressed to more modern technologies. They act as a kind of reset button. With that said, it’ll be interesting to see how future Elder Scrolls games will look considering that you stop Alduin, the one who would’ve brought a new Kalpa.
Some people remember Michael as having been there the whole video others believe Michael was actually Camel.
New fudge muppet podcast?
Well I guess I’m getting really stoned this morning
Finally some true to whole imperial lore for the empire!!!
The Greymoor version of Alessia's statue is giving me big Minoan Crete bull worship vibes
First time I ever looked at the screen as well with these, and it was quite funny to find out who the voices belonged to.
Michael straight up pulled a Kagrenac on us
I'd love a game set during The Alessian Rebellion.
Maybe they designed Pelinal's armor to look like the Hero of Kvatch in the future that then went to the past and eventually got put back together in the Knights of the Nine and inspire its own creation.
I see the "Morihaus Statue" situation as The Alessian Order depicting him as human to re-enforce their own views.
Late on the draw
However I was stoked to hear (I think Drew?) Talking about, from elven perspective, what right did Humans have to remove Auriel's elven aspects. I actually agree. Humans AND Elves have no right to tamper with divine forces. The soul is divine and that's partly why I dislike soul trapping, and that's why I keep talking about Varla stones. They were able to create weapons so powerful they pierced Pelinal White strakes armor.
They can grant a form of "immortality."
Ayleids had no reason to be so cruel besides inherent cruelty. Incredibly ahead of their time. I feel like Bethesda messed up not adding the option to enchant weapons with Varla stones like the Ayleids could
By the way I constantly find myself debunking topics and claims on Facebook with y'all's videos. Seriously, Fudgemuppet Shoddycast and Camelworks and some more are all top tier. It took me over half a year to watch your entire channel Fudge
Can you explain how Alkosh is a cat and a dragon? Does that have to do with the selectives?
@@jouzelfeather-pelt7686 yes i can. The khajit view all their "gods" and there are MANY in elsewheyr, as cats. It makes sense. The divines show up as humans to humans and elves to elves and cats to khajit and since there are so many cat shapes they can personify the deity as any kind of cat they choose.
@@jouzelfeather-pelt7686 you got me on the selectives though
That music!
I think cyrodiil and the Imperials need a complete redone. ES Oblivion destroyed their exotic culture and land for stereotypical medieval setting.
Pelinal Whitestrake is the Doomguy change my mind:
i want Bethesda to make a elder scrolls where you play as pelinal
First Era lore is my JAM, bro. Especially the Alessian Rebellion and the _foxy_ Pelinal Whitestrake himself (only the real ones will get that 😉).
Side note/question to the Fudgemuppet squad: Do you guys have any plans to start doing RUclips memberships? Like the ones where you get to contribute to the channel each month, and then get to use some custom emojis and have a lil badge next to your name on comments?
It’s something I’ve been hoping for (for a good bit now actually), but I’ve never asked about it or even seen anyone else ask about it, so here we go I guess! hahahaha 😂
Love the podcast guys! If I could I would love to make a suggestion. Could you guys do something with the idea of kalpa cycles? I am very interested in this topic and through a very moderate amount of research I have not been able to find anything of substance.
Nice discussion. Gotta say, the presentation of this lore in the VIGILANT-GLENMORIL-UNSLAAD trilogy is canon to me and I accept nothing else, official lore be damned.
I have no problem with mounts. If you can turn a daedra into armor sword axe spear shield there is no reason you cannot force an atnorach into a horse wolf etc shape. Love your podcasts.
As a HUGE elf fan, the existence of pelinal and that rebel queen make me sad 😞
They enslaved and brutalized the Nedic people. They gave a collective middle finger to the gods who warned them to stop. They ripped their nedic slaves apart for amusement and made gut gardens and flesh sculptures of them, they set children on fire for sport to here them scream....buddy the list of horrible shit they did stretch from here to hell.
Pelinal was the wrath of gods made flesh, literally.
3:50 Sorry Scott, I’ve gotta be a stickler, but it was Odysseus that became Ulysses, not Achilles
I am here to say you three inspired me to play Oblivion again and after 145hrs ive done everything i can😂😂🤷♂️
Minotaurs might not make great soliders, they do however make excellent furry pillows.
Then you notice Michael is reading while Scott is talking, probably because he forgot to research the night before
I think he was about to finish reading Vivec’s sermons and had a seizure
Pelinal is definitely a cyborg from the future.
"zerosum.exe" 🤣🤣🤣
Did the ayleids cause the birdmen that topal the pilot described to go extinct?
Something to put on while washing dishes.
I said it once I’ll say it again can you do a video on ancient yokuda and especially the Sinestral Elves
amazing podcast
I got that crusader guys armor from some bandit lol I'm gon get it back I didn't know it was special
Could you do a top 10 or top 20 books to read within Skyrim and Oblivion. ? Please. The books you all liked or found most interesting thanks
May Aetherius treat Michael well.
Ulysses was the romanized version of Odysseus not Achilles.
I typed in fudgemuppet in youtube search and it autocorrected to "canon?" And it even had the question mark
I really think Morrowind changed the Dark Elves as much as Azura did
Azura changed their appearance, Morrowind changed their culture
6:35 this does not in any meaningful way paralell the real world, and what do you mean with «setups» and astrology as a sort of measure of development? strange take, maybe i dont get what youre trying to say
Could you do a vid on the greymoor vampires?
Would be fitting for Halloween
