Totk gave us a lot of new cool stuff, but I don't want Easter eggs anymore. I'd love a new Zelda game that brings back skull kids and stalfos, musical instruments and transformations. And deku scrubs! I love those lil guys.
Imagine if skull kid was actually in totk and will have a secret dialouge with link if he wore the Time and Twilight set or hell even the majora's mask. Would be a cool easter egg

You know, when i got to his part in twilight princess, i interpretted it as him being in my way, but looking back at it now, he really was helping, wasn't he?
I thought he was protecting the sword, but I guess that doesn't make sense with everything else in the way, and the fact that the lost woods are invigable to anyone but skullkid.
Fun fact: if you beat the six lyonels in the depths of Tears of the Kingdom, a chest will appear and if you open it, it will give you Majora’s Mask. It has little to no defense power and just helps you be more stealthy around certain enemies, which is pretty crappy considering the previous fight was harder than ganondorf :/

It seems only appropriate that his history is only 8 years from his first appearance to his last. It means he always remains a kid. Skull Kid is 8 years old forever.

His Twilight Princess look is very reminiscent of Majora's Mask. His eye coloring. The style of his clothes... The moon like face and face paint like the previously mentioned mask.
The twilight princess version of lost woods music is so good. Its dark, but sounds like music a kid would listen to if all he knew was darkness. That whole part of tp was just so good. Tp is the best zelda game hands down.
How is it dark? In oot it's literally said that if you get lost in the woods (going into the wrong direction) you become a stalfos or a stalchild/skullkid unless you have something like a fairy to keep you safe, tp lost woods is only cursed under the control of skullkid, and it's beatiful and calm unlike oot forest meadow

Can’t say for sure. All we know is canon is Link playing Sarai’s Song to him. Though the Happy Mask Salesman should’ve remembered Link if the mask sequence did happen
I have a dumb idea. Hear me out. The skull kid becomes the caretaker of the deku tree, who is soon to wither and die. In the evening, you can listen to their song before it becomes night. At night, the skull kid will be found sleeping in a hammock nearby, flute in hand.
My favorite theory begins with the Japanese version of the game where the Skull Kids had an all black face. (This was obviously removed in the US version for to avoid racism.) The theory states that the main Skull Kid we see in OoT/MM is constantly seeking his true face again after losing it in the Lost Woods, which is why he's asking for masks. He stumbles upon the wrong mask one day and is possessed by Majora, but after he's discarded by the mask, his best friends Tatl and Tael go on to grant his wish of finding his true face. We see that face in Twilight Princess, the face that closely resembles The Moon from MM. It's one of my favorite theories.
He was NEVER a bad kid, just mischievous, like a lost child without their guardian... It was the great and terrible dark power of the demon Majora channeling it's vile and accursed will through its mask that caused all the pain and suffering... Poor skullkid was only along for the ride, aware, but unable to do anything, like a puppet... Link, The Hero of Time and Termina, after liberating the skullkid from Majora's clutches, helped the young imp find peace by entrusting the protection of The Master Sword deep in the heart of Faron back in Hyrule from evil doers until a new hero appeared... ❤❤❤
It's also an early indicator that majora's mask and Twilight princess are the same timeline. Not only does he react to you as if you were his friend, but since he's there, you didn't kill him as an adult. Child timeline.
So many things in TP got a creepy makeover! His moon like face in TP might be a call back to the moon from Majora's Mask. I do miss the little beak though.
An indirect reappearance is in hyrule warriors 3ds and definitive edition. Ik it's not canon and technically the same guy and doesn't even make sense since... he has majoras mask yet can utilize tge power of it in twilight princess. It still appeared in a forest and tried to confuse and play with Linkle.

When I was a kid and would play this game he would scare me I guess in a creepy way. I always thought of him like a monster just from the appearance on my Nintendo 64 but now I want his mask tattooed ✊🏼 grateful to have this game throughout my childhood beast ass game. Especially riding the damn horse jumping over the fences. Good ol times life was simple 🤝

One small nitpick i have is that Link didnt teach the Skull Kid Saria's song. Skull Kid already knows it when he meets Link. Him saying that Link smells like the one who taught him the song is referring to Saria, which makes sense, seeing as her and Link were best friends as kids
