Still high on this line and I am sad its ending next year. I think the era of massive gains immediately after retirement from the 2020 gold rush era are over so we have to readjust our perspective a bit. With that pushing out some of the bandwagon investors and even collectors who hoped to maybe sell their collection one day, we might see more consistent regular growth though just from a smaller supply on the aftermarket.

Agreed, I really think we saw a good chunk of investors drop off after 2022. Very optimistic about the future!

Interesting comment about Cody possibly being scooped up by Amazon near the end of life. I do find it interesting that it seems like it used to be dud/low demand sets that were available 6 months later, but this year we have higher demand sets like Luke's Helmet, the Horizon set, and others.
I saw a comment somewhere else that it almost seems like Amazon is Lego investing now. They get to sell them at MSRP, without much discounts like the typical 20% off now that no one else has them.

Yep, it’s continuing to get more prevalent each year… I think it’s intentional by LEGO and Amazon, but unfortunately there’s not much we can do but be sure to buy at significant discounts to insure ourselves for the worst case scenario.
The X-Wing when it was on sale from Amazon during May the 4th sold 10k+ units and they still didn’t sell out 🤯

Great video! I have 7 out of the 11. Debating whether I need/want to have the full set. But the helmet line is awesome.

Thanks! If you already have 7, might as well finish it out! :)

I pretty much gave up on on the tie fighter pilot and stormtrooper helms. Theyre both just not worth it for investing especially now with the set line having no future of returning anytime soon. They're thresholds probably wont go much higher and may even decline at some point

The executor midi-scale was by many considered to be in a similar position as the TIE fighter pilot helmet. Would you agree? And would you still agree now that its retirement got pushed back at least another year?

I think that it would have been a great performer in retirement if it retired this year, but not nearly as well as the Tie Fighter Pilot Helmet. Many investors were hesitant on whether the helmet would be a good investment because it had no minifigures. Now that people know there’s a lot of demand for these type of displayable sets, there will be many more investors picking up the star destroyer. That will cause there to be much more supply in the aftermarket causing the price not to rise nearly as quickly as the Tie Fighter Pilot Helmet.
I will reassess the star destroyer again in 2025, I will likely invest in it, but I’ll need to get it at a great price.
