    First Congratulations and I must say this was the best video of a match and its explanation that I have ever seen and I watch thousands of them. IDPA presents a different challenge for sure compared to USPSA but I think doing both makes you a better all around shooter. And I also think that USPSA shooters make better IDPA shooters. Thanks again for doing this video.

    Great video and great job. I am a fan of IDPA for similar reasons. It is a level playing field by essentially making everybody shoot very similar stage plans.. it is a true test of speed and accuracy with a greater emphasis on accuracy. USPSA makes you better, IDPA shows you how good you are at shooting accurate and fast.

    Great video! This is really interesting. Our club is mostly biweekly USPSA with bimonthly IDPA. We’ve had a few “CCW “ matches where you get to test your carry gear . Kind of a hybrid between USPSA and IDPA. I carry AIWB so that’s how I shot the matches as well as wearing what I normally wear. The fishing vest is just something I would never wear so it doesn’t really test my daily carry set up. I’m going to have to try a real IDPA match now that they allow AIWB. Gabe White is my hero.

      Absolutely run your inside the waistband appendix carry set up in either USPSA or IDPA.

    IDPA scenarios can obviously seem a bit “dystopian future “ extreme but I was actually caught up in something very similar to Stage 5 as a very young man in the northern Philippines in the mid 80’s . 10 guys with bats and pipes called me out of a local disco objecting to my taking a particular girl on a date as she had been allegedly betrothed to one of the aggrieved gentlemen. I did not have a Canik Rival S available …. lol . So therefore. being unable to initiate a mass shooting event, I instead jumped on a passing motorcycle taxi and took off while they were still debating whether they could lay a beat down on a foreigner with impunity. I didn’t date that girl again ….😬

    Hey Nils! Good stuff! Thanks for the recap and the positivity towards the game of IDPA.
    Was the PE for not “engaging” the center target? That target array was 6 shots(2 each), which you had. The reason of doubt is to the shooter. 6 shot required 6 taken. Then , 2 additional makeups on the back end. I think they did you dirty my man. “You could have missed the center target”.😂😂

    Hey, I had left a comment on here last night but I don't see it so I'm guessing it got deleted because it included a link. I have a video on my channel(under shorts, it's literally the only video on there) where I'm shooting a TP9SFX Rival. Do you have any pointers for me that will help me shoot faster? I am looking to get into competition shooting but need to get a good belt for it and a holster for my Canik Rival that will accommodate my TLR1 Streamlight and my Align tactical thumb rest. I've been watching your content for a while and you're so good at this and you're shooting the same gun as me so I dunno I figure you must've figured out some things that could save me a little time and mental energy as I get into the sport of competition shooting. I am not sure yet whether I am going to try my hand at IDPA or USPSA or just do both(the gun club I'm a member of hosts matches for both leagues).
    Sorry for posting the link to the video in my comment, I hope it didn't come across as self promotional. I don't have any interest in youtube other than it being fun to post a video every now and then and that will be pretty evident by the camera work and production quality lol.
    Lastly, I am wondering if you've ever dealt with carpal tunnel syndrome and its effects on your shooting. I have it right now and haven't gotten it fixed just yet and I'd assume that other people who spend a lot of time shooting and doing dry fire have gotten it before too.
    I love Canik, the TP9SFX Rival is an incredible pistol at an incredible price. You literally can't go wrong with it.

    • @NilsJonasson
      @NilsJonasson  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment.
      I don’t remember seeing your previous comment and I definitely didn’t delete it. One of life‘s great mysteries.
      There’s no great secret to any of this. Your core fundamentals are grip, trigger press and sight alignment.
      It’s pretty much constant experimentation with different styles and techniques that will eventually get you to the point you want.
      I’m still figuring this stuff out, regardless of how it looks on the Internet.
      I know safariland does some weapon mounted light holsters. Canik also offers several from the factory options but I don’t know about that particular combination.
      Probably your best route will be red hill, tactical, smoky mountain concealment, FPS Holsters, GX holsters, etc and have one of them build it specifically for the combination you want.
