You are the only one on RUclips I know that is showing all the really cool historical sites of Massachusetts and New England. You definitely should stick to it. Super interesting 👌
There's an old silver mine in sterling Massachusetts. I think is somewhere in the woods between east and west waushacum. Im enjoying taking these vicarious trips:-)
Keep it up Josh! If this was recorded in winter/on a cold day it’s all about relative temperature. Below the frost line in New England Stays roughly in the 50-55 degree range so it may just have felt much warmer because 50degrees 80% humidity is a huge change from 35 degrees 20%.
I also commented on your short post on this. Please DO NOT go into these mine shafts. The one with the gate I believe is the upper one. Yes, they are trying to protect the bats, but also there are vertical shafts that were cut between all the shafts, I believe there are three horizontal ones. The vertical shafts were cut between them to allow air flow through the shafts for the miners. They are very hard to see, and people have fallen down them. If you fall down one of the air shafts, you are royally screwed. If you’re not killed from the 100 foot fall, you could get stuck, or end up in the lower shaft with no way to get out. Stay away if you value your life. There have been deaths.
Enjoy your shows!! Any chance you could do a deep dive into "The Leatherman" and his caves? I am fascinated by this story but live in the South; too far away to do any recons myself...
I live about 40 mins from Chester, is this mine somewhere off Emery street in the forested area North of there? I've been looking for the mine location in Sterling MA, but no luck yet. Also any caving spots ya know? :)
I once went into a old coal mine shaft in the woods I grew up in the Pittsburgh Pa area. Went in with 3 of my friends. Inly went about a 100 ft. 2 weeks later we noticed the the hill side were it was Colapsed. Never did that again. We were Lucky
I've got an underwater drone I'd love to send down a flooded mine, I recently sent it in to a flooded tunnel in Mansfield and it was the CREEPIEST video ever!
You guys should be really careful around these mines. You aren't dressed for this and you don't have any safety gear. Poking around abandoned mines is Dangerous!
I bet you can get into the batcave. I cant tell for sure, but in the video it looks like the metal slat, second from the bottom, is just resting on top of smaller slats. You might be able to just take it off and squeeze in.

Great video!
Great video! I know that small town.
I love collecting minerals there.
Be careful in those mines, they are super dangerous. There are many hidden holes into tje abyss in them lol!
I’ve been to 2 out of the other 3 mines. They’re on the opposite side of Walker Brook. I believe they all run in a straight line of one another.
