As much as I'm not a huge fan of the character, Jarrett only ever clicked with me on a visual stance when he started being the women-hating "Slapnuts" character in WWF. Also, not sure what podcast it was I heard it from, but I cannot ever look at Jeff again without thinking he looks like Gordon Ramsey's stunt double.

Slaughter was one of the good old-school guys who knows to help younger talent get over. Triple H wasn't quite ready for the main event, but having HHH feud with a former World champion would be great for his credibility, even if its a former World champion past his prime.

I still remember my fear of the big city of Fresno nearby because I'd been warned about gangs. But, gang violence only touched my life once until I moved to a more populated area. At the time, wcw Starrcade was the only ppv I was allowed to buy for the month, snapping a streak of 16 consecutive wwf ppv's. I always knew that with dx in retrospect I didn't miss out on anything.

You know it was always weird to me. The episode of RAW were LOD won the tag titles from the Godwins, it was supposed to be them proving that they still had it and were not past their prime. Then just a few weeks after, the story is that they are past their prime and they need to step aside for younger and fresher tag teams.
Love the channel brother. I ain’t watched any wrestling since the attitude era etc. And was a major WCW over wwf guy growing up when WCW came out hard. But when they died out I did go full wwf. just have to say thank you for all the walks back to memory lane. For real. Good times in life 🤘🏻
With Owen attacking Shawn Michaels at the end of the show, I’m surprised they didn’t have Owen challenge him for the title at the next PPV. Looks like he was getting over as The Black Hart.
I don't know, Shawn and Undertaker had the hottest fued in the entire business at the time and it was all leading up to crowning Steve Austin at WM 14. Owen was a great, great worker but he just wasn't a top guy in the United States.
It is kind of crazy how none of the ppvs named after Stars or groups work out. This, Souled Out, and 98s Rock Bottom all leave a lot to be desired and hell, Vader wasn't even booked on IYH: It's Time and that's his catchphrase. The first Rock/Austin ppv outing, little did we know how fun the rivalry between the 2 would be and I think this is a food start to their long running feud.
Canadian Stampede was centered around the Hart Foundation, and was one of the best PPVs of 1997. It was named Canadian Stampede to pay tribute to the Stampede Wrestling promotion that was started by Stu Hart and in which Hart Foundation members Bret, Owen, Davey Boy, and Pillman spent their early years. And of course because it took place in Canada.
After this, it's officially Rumble season, when everything REALLY explodes for WWF. Can't remember when exactly we started hearing the Tyson rumors, but I remember that's when me and about 10 million other people started paying attention.

This was my first wrestling show I ever saw as a kid our my brother brought me to the show for a Christmas present and I’ve been hooked ever since the pyros were a little scary as a 4th grader not to mention Kane but it was one of the most important nights of my life and I am soo greatfull to have attended it
I can't say enough good things about all the pre-match shenanigans to the New Age Outlaws vs Road Warriors match. I'm watching these shows alongside Wrestling Bios, and the way the Outlaws kept trying to dodge the fight, coupled with Road Dogg's running commentary and smack talk, had me in stitches. This segment was a great example of how pro wrestling is more than just the in-ring action, that the angles before and after a match can really elevate it and make it much more entertaining.
Those shots to the face from Owen looked pretty damn stiff though, and Shawn had a little trickle of blood dripping from his nose afterward. I can't blame Owen for throwing a few potatoes in that situation.
I was never a Brian Christopher fan but have always cheered the Japanese Wrestlers when they are here on our soil. I hope they do the same for our guys when on their turf.

Question: Why do you like the concept of faction PPVs? As you say yourself in the Shawn Michaels vs Ken Shamrock match: you knew Shamrock wasn’t going to win (clean) in a DX PPV. So what good can come from those matches? The outcome is already pretty much set to the big matches. Hence why no one bothers to watch them.
only thing i remember from this was Stone Cold stunning D-Lo on the truck 😂 and man The Rock had ALL the heat 😂😂 and the beat of the Nation theme song allowed for fans to chant "rocky sucks" in unison 🤣🤣

I can't say enough good things about all the pre-match shenanigans to the New Age Outlaws vs Road Warriors match. I'm watching these shows alongside Wrestling Bios, and the way the Outlaws kept trying to dodge the fight, coupled with Road Dogg's running commentary and smack talk, had me in stitches. This segment was a great example of how pro wrestling is more than just the in-ring action, that the angles before and after a match can really elevate it and make it much more entertaining.

That attire on HBK was fire. Also from what I heard, Owen and Shawn actually got along well behind the scenes, as opposed to Shawn and Brett.
Those shots to the face from Owen looked pretty damn stiff though, and Shawn had a little trickle of blood dripping from his nose afterward. I can't blame Owen for throwing a few potatoes in that situation.

Question: Why do you like the concept of faction PPVs? As you say yourself in the Shawn Michaels vs Ken Shamrock match: you knew Shamrock wasn’t going to win (clean) in a DX PPV. So what good can come from those matches? The outcome is already pretty much set to the big matches. Hence why no one bothers to watch them.
only thing i remember from this was Stone Cold stunning D-Lo on the truck 😂 and man The Rock had ALL the heat 😂😂 and the beat of the Nation theme song allowed for fans to chant "rocky sucks" in unison 🤣🤣

I remember watching this show and the only thing I really remember from this show was the light heavyweight title match the Austin vs rock match with Austin stunning dlow brown on the front part of the truck. And I also remember that weird goldust green eggs and ham segment and Owen hart attacking Shawn Michaels after the Ken shamrock vs Shawn Michaels wwf title match.
