  • Hello,
For me this video is most interesting. I've filmed all the journey from my house till the dam. In this video there are many interesting things to see. Maybe it's too long, but I didn't want to make 2 parts.
    Enjoy!

This is very relaxing to watch for a human. For a beaver this is like a disaster movie! When Beaver parents want to frighten their children they told them stories about you!
The water rushing against your legs must be trying very hard to knock you down. Good balance!

    Fabulous recording.
It had clear explanations and pictures of the Beaver life cycle, and their impact on the ecology of an agricultural area in Europe. Tunnels, lodges, exquisite and complex dams, and a pyramid structure (that I think was a lodge?).
This was such a revelation for me. My country does not have Beaver, still there is tension between the needs of native animals and those of farmers.
What a heavy and difficult job to overcome two dams, and to release so much water from the top weir such that it dropped by 60cm. Such a huge volume of water went into the canal.
Such a fine thing to do for the parents of your friend, to travel 100km on a 3C day to single-handedly clear these dams and hopefully save the integrity of the land, the trees, the roadway, and the canal.
Thank you for showing us a little of Lithuania, it is a country we hear so little about, but it is very beautiful and peaceful despite its location being somewhat precarious.
Stay well, many more sunny days before winter, hopefully no heatwaves, look forward to any videos you may be able to create. My best wishes to you.
PS: The farmer forgot to say, but I will, "THANK YOU for clearing these dams, it is such a big help".

I don't know if you can get it where you are located but we use Tannerite here to deal with beavers. It is an impact explosive. You can typically get it as a 2 part mix at any farm and ranch supply store. We just mix it together and pour it into an old paint can. Set the can inside the dam but able to be seen from outside. You then move back a good ways then shoot the can. The can blows up and the beaver dam problem goes away.
