Watching you reminds me of my dad breaking these up in Canada. He used a large pick and he welded a cross handle to pull on. Fun to watch then and great fun to watch now.
Mantas another great video. You really had a work out on this one, with all the mud and sticks that were in the dam, love the way the dam collapsed on it self with your help, thanks for sharing in the video and drone coverage. David B.,Utah, USA. 💯💯💯❤❤❤.
Thank you for this one. After receiving notice that weather would cause a pause in the dam busting you pull this one out of somewhere. Another well built dam by union Lithuanian beavers. I'm yelling you I really appreciated all the collapse you provided on this one. Rugged task! 👍👽👽👽😳
Hearing the suction with those shovel loads of clay soil as you deconstruct that dam took me back a bit to working days with my husband. You need to be cautious Mantis.. Some of that looked like hernia material
You certainly grafted this time my friend. I hope those who own the land appreciate your hard work. I’ve respect for you. You work hard and I enjoy your work. It’s interesting viewing. Please be careful though 👍
Great job. To bad it was so packed with mud. Guess that's how the field got holes. I don't know if you look at your video later but I think there was a lot of big bubbles and cloudy water a few feet behind the dam. I think I started seeing this at about 10.0 . I was sure that dam was going to come down on you and am very glad it didn't. Stay warm.❤😊❤❤😊
I really enjoy it when you talk a bit about the land and the geography. As I will never get to Lithuania, it is very interesting to learn about and see the areas that you are filming in. Thank you very much for this channel!!!
another good dam by the beavers I guess we won't be iceskating on that ice highway. Where the tree was across the canal would be a good place for the beavers to build another dam. Lots of water.
Wow , that was one tough well built Beaver 🦫 Dam . It sure released a lot of water . And Beautiful drone footage . As always Another great job by Lithuania's Dam Master .❤
This looked like much harder work than normal. One can usually tell if you are digging through sand, clay, rotten wood or branches but it sounded as though you were hitting rocks but also tree roots. These can be very strong and given the size of the trees growing on the dam, you deserve a medal! I hope you had something warming afterwards - do you have sloe gin in Lithuania. Sloe berries left for a year in gin turn it red and with sugar added, it makes a winter warmer! All from the hedgerows!
A labor intensive job always. Today just more, that mud looked saturated, three times the weight to get moving and then mixed with all those sticks, branches and trees. 🤢♥️👍
You definitely put some work into tearing that dam up,appears to be a older one that has been there awhile.your work ethic never falters.continue on with your quest to eliminate destructive dams.great video as always,👍👍👍😎😎😎
Take care in keeping your hands warm and dry (and everything else too, especially your feet when standing in that icy water). Both of mine suffered frostbite years ago, and now are very susceptible to pain when they get cold. I hope that never happens to you; it can make winter very unpleasant. Edit: The drone overflight video was very interesting; you could really see how much the water level had dropped by seeing where the ice still clung to the banks of the channel. Plus, the landscape was beautiful, with the contrast between the green fields, the grey of the bare trees, and the yellowing of the brush next to the channel.
The holes are from beavers tunnelling into the bank for their dens. We had the same issue when the beavers damned up the creeks near our fields, especially the creeks with high banks.
@@boaz2001 it all depend on the the nature of the beaver pond, if is a shallow creek or stream the dam up and it floods a large area of land then they will build a lodge if there is enough woodland to fell trees for it. But in the case of a high bank creek, the will dig into the bank of the creek below the water line and dig our a massive bank lodge.. I was plowing a field when I was a teen and was about 3 to 4 meter from the creek, and the rear tractor tire broke through the ceiling of the beavers bank lodge and I thought the tractor was going to flip when it happened. During trapping season, we would locate their entrances to their bank lodge in the high bank of the creek, and set traps. The lodges are built similar to the dams they build, sticks , grass, rocks and mud. Beavers will transport mud from their bank lodges the dig to build the dam, or will take the mud out of the bottom of the creek The following is from Beaver Solutions : Beavers build and maintain houses called lodges. There are two main types, the conical lodge and the bank lodge. The most recognized type is the conical shaped dwelling surrounded by water. It is made from sticks, mud and rocks. One of the primary reasons beavers build dams is to surround their lodge with water for protection from predators. The second type of lodge is the bank lodge. It is typically excavated into the bank of a large stream, river, or lake where the water is too deep or fast moving to build the classic conical lodge. I hope this answered your question. When I was trapping back in the late 1970 for gas money in high school, I actually trapped more beavers in the bank lodge entrances, that I did on beavers dam entrances, because bank lodges was more prevalent.
@@boaz2001 I have read there are bank beavers. They dig into the banks of a river and dig out dens in them instead of building a lodge. Maybe they are bank beavers.
Soon the mad environment bunch might release beavers in your area so you can learn how to remove dams up there ! No rivers on the farm I help at in Wiltshire but it's going to be fun if they clog up streams and rivers and they are protected !
🤔 if you can I would cut a line in the back wall of the beaver dam with the shovel 🤔 you don't have to dig the mud out just make a little pocket where water can get behind the dam 🤔 then go back to the front and hack away at the bottom of the dam like you usually do I think you'll see better results with the claps 😘 it's just a suggestion to hopefully cut out some of the labor cuz that's hard work 🙈😘
I’m sitting outside in pool cabana looking over the seaway. It’s 4.30am & sun coming up. It’ll be 29c today with clear blue skies & getting chills watching you in such cold weather ! Feel for you…
Hey Mantas Love listening and watching the water flowing , so relaxing I almost fell asleep towards the end😅😂😅 Mantas, do you enjoy working out at the gym more of less than working out opening beaver dams? Cheers Maria 🦘❤️❤️❤️
If this is an old classmate the least he could do is bring you some kolduny, kindziukas, chebureki, potato pancakes or especially a sliced pigs ear for your appetite you work up knocking down his dams. Maybe even fry up some beaver tail. Or he could just buy you a 6 pack of your favorite adult beverage. This dam looked like a lot of labor today, so I know you were hungry when you finished. No McDonald's hamburgers, get real warm, high caloric, food after working hard in the cold. Good job on the dam today. And of course Roberta did a decent editing job with only a couple of glitches.
Me I what about trying a water jet to erode the downstream side of the dam instead of all that digging? Sunnis makes a nice cordless hand held model that uses a siphon to suck up the water from a bucket.
That was the muddiest and thickest dam ever! The beavers worked hard to build that one judging by the hard work needed to demolish it. Massive drop in water level again. Stay warm, winter hasn't reached us in the UK yet but the weather forecast is predicting a cold few days soon.
Wow that must be cold. I’m in the Canadian Rockies right now and it’s snowing. Getting into water outside that’s not hot isn’t high on my bucket list. You’re brave. Hopefully someday you can get a chainsaw. 🇨🇦🇨🇦.
Today is Thanksgiving in the US, a day to share with family and friends, have delicious meals, provide food and fellowship to the less fortunate and those who are alone and to reflect upon everything for which we are grateful. I am grateful to you for this lovely channel. You work hard to help the farmers in your community protect their lands and take us along for the interesting journey. We get to see your homeland, the results of your hard work and some really neat footage. Thank you and all the best to you and those you hold dear.

Thanks! Water is 0c :)
Cool video as always. Stay safe, and warm, out there.
Thanks!
The ice sheets were great.
Well done, that was a tough one, it looks like they used a lot more mud/dirt in the construction of this Dam.
That was a muddy one & chilly I bet, keep up your fight against the beavers dams.
That clay really packs in hard. But your hard work paid off again!
Thanks!
My toes are frozen now Thanks Keni!
You are welcome!
You had a good workout with your shovel on that dam. A lot of hard work but as always a job well done!!

Luv to watch you on your page removing beaver dams....
Well done. That looked like a lot harder work than others.
Yeah, a wide dam and lots of mud
nice job, plenty of ice
Thanks!
another good dam by the beavers I guess we won't be iceskating on that ice highway. Where the tree was across the canal would be a good place for the beavers to build another dam. Lots of water.

You are so methodical , I love watching you work. Tyrell Spivey is all over the place.. God Bless.
Thanks Charles!
That mud is like SUPER GLUE
Amazing how deep and wide they can make with some much mud. Great clean-up.
Thanks!
Greetings from the BIG SKY. So the kid that owns the land was in 5th grade with you. That means that dam is at least that old.
Very cool with the second camera and the underneath camera view. Hypnotic watching the shovel work bit by bit

Again excellent job, especially in icy weather. Home to nice hot food. Blessings
Thank you!

Thanks Mantas for the experience. 😊❤️😎
You are welcome!
That is so cool how the ice layer caved in when the water level dropped.
That was a tough one - time for rest in an overstuffed chair with a hot toddy!!
Thanks:)

It is crazy to see the huge amount of damages that could caused those littile animal on the forest ! Look all the dead trees....

He has✌️ oldschool russian JUMZ
@@KenislovasThat IS old.
Great video Ken thankyou
You are welcome!✌️
I am happy that the beavers will be ok. It’s nice to see the dam removal so the fields can start to dry out.
Another great dismantling today. Excellent water flow. You’re the best, Mantas. Enjoy the week ahead, and see you on the next! 🇱🇹🙂👍🇺🇸
Thank you!❤️

You've unleashed a lot of water so far. I'd take that knowledge and have fun with kids that haven't seen 'rushing' water much.
This dam was so deep with mud it was extremely hard for you to get it to topple. Great effort on your part.
Thanks✌️
