actually while the whole album is heavilly cyberpunk inspired and there is a song called Blade Runner, (and also a kinky fitting video for a song called Hardcore as well an anime inspired for One Night In Tokyo) this particular song here is based on the manga Armitage III which is inspired from Blade Runner. One can tell it is based on thst Manga from the intro text. That "III" in manga title refers to that third generation mentioned in song intro.
About Beast in Black, while their latest album is mostly cyberpunk inspired, their previous albums drew very heavily from the fantasy manga "Berserk". Their video for "Broken Suvivors" is a tribute to the writer of the manga series who sadly passed away about a year and a half ago. If, by any chance you're into manga, I strongly recommend that song. On a side note, I don't think Blade Runner is niche. ;)
@@JammersMetalMischief and if you read the manga or watched the anime put also from their previous albums Beast in Black (Berserker ), Zodd the immortal, The fifth apostle, Die by the blade...and from previous band Anton Kabanen had founded (before writting songs for their first 2 albums and then leaving and funding Beast in Black) Battle Beast, the songs, The black swordsman, Iron Hand, kingdom/Golden Age, Band of the Hawk.
As far as music about niche sci-fi stuff, there is an entire genre of music that's more or less dedicated to the 80s, 90s, and sci-fi/fantasy/anime called Synthwave. You should check out Gunship or Perturbator.
U should definitely check out blind and frozen (beast in black) and ghost love score cover by yannis Papadopoulos he's the lead singer of beast in black
If you have not already you should give Yannis Papadopoulos (the singer here) cover of Nightwish - Ghostlove score a listen.
First the original, if he haven't yet 😁
the original is produced and scheduled, this one will be done too!
