Give it a try. Just be aware that acetate will be slightly thicker than paper stencils so could create a unprinted shadow around it. Plus if your after the ghost effect then paper stencils are more absorbent so will give you the effect far better than acetate
The ink is Caligo Safe Wash relief ink. The paper is some left over from a few years back that I can't remember the name of. But a Shoji or Hosho Japanese papers have a similar feel to this one but are slightly whiter.

What paper and ink are you using?
