I feel like a moron for not knowing about this man sooner, I recently just discovered him, and once I learned he’s passed, hearing his best music just hit harder than I expected. It’s amazing how some modern artists have led you to go back to the roots, the history of music, Flying Lotus brought me here along with Nujabes, and I’m forever grateful. J Dilla will now be remembered for the rest of my lifetime, and those who pass away before us are never rlly gone. Thank you J Dilla for all that you’ve done and given to us, the listeners, the loners, the broken, the mended, the healers, the strugglers, and most importantly the survivors.

When someone got their history out there, they're never dead, they're here, being remembered from time to time and we check their art like they're here alive, doing well and countinuing to live like they're not buried 6 feet deep. So that's why I never just be sad about others being dead here, cause if we remember them, we do not remember the bad times, we remember the good times we had, and we remember them alive more often than the the second we knew they're dead, and we all die anyway, so nothing really to worry about, death is a part of our life, we need interpret it, cause it is natural part of our life time, that supposse to happen some time, that we cannot choose.

I saw Dilla @ Jazz Cafe in London in late 2005, the whole night it was just hype-man and MC's asking the DJ to spin DIlla beats with no sign of the man. During the last beat of the night we noticed a couple of guys carrying a weak looking man down the stairs that led onto the stage, then placed him onto a wheelchair. 'everyone give it up for DIllaaaaaa' shouted out the guy on the mic.
You could see how much he loved being there but the man looked so tired, just slumped in his chair while bedroom producers and djs in the crowd, most of whom grew up on his music, were fighting against each other to throw him their mix-cds. He didn't have the energy to collect them, just to give the crowd an apologetic, thankful look.
A few weeks later news came out that he had succumbed to a rare disease and lost his life at the age of 32. Every time i hear this tune, originally made for Proof of D12 fame, an MC who is also no longer with us, it puts me in such a sombre place, and just reminds me how precious life is, and how thankful we all should be for this life we're given.

I’m an amateur Mpc producer and I really think Dilla was the best ever on the Mpc. My wife asked me why I put him above all other producers and I told her that he was more humble and while these other producers will always be compared to each other for their body of work, he would have created the machines they were creating on. We also have the same birthday which made me feel even more connected to his spirit when I produce. I study hard and try my best and I think about Dilla every day. He truly inspires my dreams.

I have SO Much to say about this.
    1. To sample one of Miles Davis' greatest melodies stole my heart
    2. To do a GOOD SAMPLE PERIOD stole my heart.
    3. There are 2 producers on the planet i trust a sample of classic music with: 9th wonder and J Dilla
    4. .. i can't explain it.. this man loves music. you can feel it in your bones with the music he makes.
    5. if he ever would have made a song for me i'd cry. I'd straight cry.

    This song is peaceful
    Like rain from the heavens
    Pure and not evil
    It washes clean the earth
    Water is a cleansing agent
    Cleaning up dirt
    To my amazement
Cause I compare it to the way God
Washed me and made me soil
    That is Fragrant
    Blessings to everyone
    When I breath
    A new song is sung
    This comes from
The one who has made me one
    Psalm 40:3
“He has put a new song in my mouth, praise to our God; many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.”

The ultimate of beats. This one could tell an entire story without anyone speaking over the top! But, since we are all here, there's no excuse not to let some stories fly on this incredible piece of music. J Dilla masterfully samples some jazz piano and adds his own savory swung mpc drums. This guy played and programmed these drums for the ultimate swing and knock. The mix is dark and balanced, with the low end and drums taking up most of the space, with plenty of room left in the to 5k-20khz for the piano melody. This is masterfully done, and heavily respected!

I keep coming back to this beat in every hard time its like this song feels like a hug to my heart. My brother actually showed me this beat the night my dad left after a long abusive life with him, that night my brother taught me what free styling is and how it can help get your stress and mental out. He made me feel safe at that moment and helped me forget and i can still remember the feeling i got when i first heard this and books of war that night. Its kinda funny seeing how this song pulls in all kinds of people with there own stories or reasons why there here maybe thats why i feel so warm and at peace when i hear this. All our souls are here and you can feel it when you hear it. life is hard but i gotta say this beat harder. I wish i could thank j dilla and thank my brother another million times for showing me this world of music. Its been 6 years sence he left and as much as i dont like to think about it but when i do i listen to this, close my eyes, and freestyle just like i did that night. All of you stay safe and keep listing with hopefully some hope and strength in your heart to keep fighting.

J Dilla had to die. The man put his whole life essence into these beats. He fused himself with the melody. His body left to rot, his soul-lingers as long as his music plays.
