As someone who never liked rap growing up, this playlist made me realize that I did not like modern rap, not this old-school majesty. Now, I'm all about old-school beats and melodies, so thanks for posting this.
You just got into Wutang? Well I guess is better late than sorry. The first time I heard Wutang I was 17 years old, in 1997. The album was Wutang Forever, it had just dropped. Then I started listening to a late night radio show called the Wake Up show, based in Los Angeles, CA. Underground hip hop artist used to come out freestyling. It was crazy when Wu Tang and the Wutang affiliate members used to come on there, they used to spit some ill ass shii. I sometimes used to record it on cassette tape, I still have it on deck. Also that radio station is where I first heard Eminem back in 1997, he’s whack now. But yeah Wu was my shit in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I went to see them live lots of times. Wu Tang Clan, Killah Army, Sunz of Man and the rest. I even went to the “Rock the Bells” concert when O.D.B. had came home from Prison in 2004, unfortunately he passed months later. I have a lot of concert wutang t-shirts, and the Wu Tang Manual, (wu tang book) got it signed by RZA. I literally have ALL the Wu Tang cd’s, all the solo albums, the rare albums, the mixes, and I also have ALL the wutang affiliates albums. I have like 100 wu tang related cd’s, they’re all put away in containers. I haven’t played them since I moved out of Los Angeles 12 years ago. Not really into them anymore, I feel like I played them out for almost 15 years straight LOL. You’re going to hate me for this but I like listening to Chief Keef, Glorilla, Sexxy Red beats now. All I listen to is beats now. But remember you don’t even have to go to school or college anymore, all you need is to listen to Wu Tang forever that’s all the knowledge you need 🙌🏽
