I just caught your channel. It’s cool seeing you going over the flathead V-8. My first truck was a 1953 f100 with a flathead V8. I think it had like 90hP. Haha Always ran through.
There's a nice old guy named Glen in Palmer who restores old Powerwagons, you would enjoy getting to know. Assume you live down in the valley somewhere?
nice ,thanks.ive never seen a 337 in the flesh here in new zealand,im sure there may be a few about, but i have never come across one.my car is a 1946 ford V8 club coupe, original nz car, however it has a 42-221ci 81t motor, not correct but a lovely running wee beauty.i wonder if these big flatties could be wedged in my car LOL.keep the vids coming-to me this stuff is wonderfull.
I come from NZ (haven't been back for 36 years) But I worked in the far north on many WW2 stuff. NZ never got any of the big flatties but hundreds of 239's in all sorts of equipment. We even had a 41 Chev too,as a tow truck . We used to be get GMC and Chev and Ford military pattern parts from old man Gillies in Wellington. He had acres of trucks left behind by departing US forces. One of the Big flattys would make a great nostalgia drag racing engine.....😁
On the stand turn the bad cylinder straight up after it has been cleared out put in some of the carburetor cleaner that's for soaking the one I use is cemclean allow too soak 2 days to a week if needed . I have also used a torch too heat the cylinder and with a piece of wood tap with a hammer all the way around and I said tap so you don't break the ring lands .
Used in some “ light “ tanks, industrial stuff, irrigation pumps, and some 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan club coupes, I hope it makes you a good project 👍
That engine looks healthy from the top anyway. At least it had coolant
