I take my hat off to Douglas Murray. To be in Qatar standing his ground debating intelligently and calmly to a triggered presenter, correcting her and making her look very unprofessional is very satisfying to watch. Politicians in the UK do not subject themselves to random audiences, everything is carefully staged.

Her argument completely ignores one very important factor, what made the people want to move to Britain. Then ascertain what brought about the things they came to Britain for. As a non-european who loves to travel to Europe for their culture, it honestly seems to me like the EU host nations are racing to the bottom because they were guilt-tripped into putting others' needs first before their own. I personally know some amazing German people who actively helped out muslim refugees during the refugee crisis. They helped them find apts, education, and etc. in the hopes that the refugees would assimilate and pursue happiness. However, the cultural difference is a real big thing. This young muslim male refugee - that my German friend was sponsoring - ended up carrying on with chauvinisitic behaviors around women rather than assimilating into the German social norms where women's rights are better protected than Islamic countries. He continued to believe that his own wants and needs superceded women's willingness to consent as if he owns those women like things. He ended up getting into trouble with the German law because he sexually harrassed Eastern European female refugees who did not want anything to do with him. He did not seem to understand the personhood of women and only objectified them. My helpful German friend was very sad and disappointed that his refugee friend still could not respect women as people even after going through assimilation program in Germany. Sometimes people take advantage of other people's generosity by guilt-tripping. Hosts should be able to pace themselves with their generosity especially if that relates to their own stability. They should not be demanded to give 100 when they offered to give 10, and most other countries/people are offering 0.
