Woke is adhering to identity political definitions as a primary aspect in all things. Merit, narrative, or even scientific fact no longer matter. Where one political/racial identity is always the oppressor and therefore is it justified to abuse them because they are always the oppressor even when they are victimized.

Looking around, the only people who are comfortable are the people who are ignorant of reality . When the dam breaks, so to speak, the pain they endure will be far greater than anything you or I have had to deal with. I think they’re important in that they’re like a massive pain that points to a disease in the culture. Our public education systems are atrocious, and there is the real problem of specific groups being marginalized. Well, all of that make sense. It's really great to strive to be a better human being. But, the practical side is that they make an OBLIGATION to be perfect out of it (and no one is really perfect) and they punish for any deviations. Historical? Only if your history goes back just a couple hundred years. If it’s truly historical (the very beginning of written history) then literally every race has been marginalized. that’s just one of the big problems with his whole movement. Those screaming for the vindication of the downtrodden, don’t realize that history is greater than a couple hundred years old.

I don't agree with this guys definition at all it leaves out a lot of woke causes like climate change hysteria, transitioning/grooming minors, defunding the police, anti-free speech and censorship, anti-gun ownership, could go on and on. It's way bigger than marginalized groups and can encompass anything you can virtue signal over

Looking around, the only people who are comfortable are the people who are ignorant of reality . When the dam breaks, so to speak, the pain they endure will be far greater than anything you or I have had to deal with. I don’t believe they’re all as entirely brain washed and out of touch with reality as people make them out to be. I think they’re important in that they’re like a massive pain that points to a disease in the culture. Our public education systems are atrocious, and there is the real problem of specific groups being marginalized. But the problem is that being so caught up in that to the point of not allowing certain people to speak their minds is a huge problem. That’s the opposite of free speech. In order to have free speech, you have to be able to speak (and risk offending someone). Because without that, you cannot think. And without that, the concept of freedom and personal liberty goes out the window.

Here's one definition I read:
"Woke means awakened to the needs of others. To be well-informed, thoughtful, compassionate, humble, and kind. Eager to make the world a better place for all people. Be Woke."
This is very different from what they're talking about here.
Because that definition is the absolute furthest thing from what it means in practice. That definition is nothing but empty moral platitudes that amount to "be good", which, depending on the person, can mean literally anything at all. One person's concept of what is good is not going to be the same as another's and, because of that, woke in practice can be anything at all, including malicious. Which it is in the vast majority of cases.
Thats because thats what they think they are doing, but in all actuality, it cant be farther from the truth.
That was the intended and original t meaning it's just Republicans always steal words they don't like and completely redefine them for their narrative it's sad. Woke still means it's original meaning before the right came and redefined it for their narrative and completely ruined the word

Well, all of that make sense. It's really great to strive to be a better human being. But, the practical side is that they make an OBLIGATION to be perfect out of it (and no one is really perfect) and they punish for any deviations.
It's like going from the expectation to be nice to strangers (common thing in the Western world) to punishing for not saying "how are you" or not smiling at everyone!
He means intersectionality, not woke. Woke is better described by Thomas Sowell’s book the vision of the anointed. Essentially: woke means someone who has attended college so they think they are somehow enlightened because of that and must therefore cannot be wrong in anything they say, think, or maybe even do.
Don’t tell them they are wrong, it’s better to have them figure it out mathematically. Why math? Well because a simple arithmetic equation can either be correct or wrong. Surely, they can grapple with that kind of fact. Now it’s your job to make the equation simple and applicable to reality. Might I recommend (1+1=2≈1grain of rice+1other grain of rice)?, so that they can’t use post modernism as a crutch.

I think his definition is too simplistic. Woke as culture Marxism is a better definition.

There is no legitimate definition to describe an outright lie within and of itself. Calling yourself or acting woke, is the opposite of what it implies.

I would define woke as discrimination being acceptable and desirable if it's against someone who is white, male, cis, straight, or christian and that it's more desirable the more of those traits someone has.
Woke = paying attention.
It is knowing how are you being deceived, who is deceiving you and why are they deceiving you.
That is not the definition of woke. Woke is not being asleep. In cultural it means aware of the social discrimination and unfair treatment being done to you.
