for newer version Enable z order play around with interpolate steps and exponent until you get a range from light blue to purple apply ungroup then select all then use the align and distribute to place them properly.
So simple yet so effective! Thank You nick for all Your work! I know I'll never start designing logos full time but it is so nice to make one sometimes with Your help! BTW I love the intro and outro song it's so relaxing :D
New laptop! Can't find my CorelDraw disk! Going to install Inkscape. Your tutorials are absolutely priceless and I can't wait to up my game with some of the skills and techniques I have learned from you. Cant thank you enough.
Hey Nick! You are a genius! Thank you so much for your tutorials. It is pretty easy to follow and after a few times rewatching the steps it becomes easy to do it yourself.
excellent. I am creating my logo and wanted to create something like this and wondered if I have to create every cirlce individually, no.... I don´t ...great insturction. Great tutorial. Love it . Thank you Nick
Absolutely love your video, I am doing all of them as I start learning Inkscape a month ago. Just a quick tip. Perhaps, to avoid the distortion of the circle it would be possible to use the "Scatter" tool using an ellipse as the main path. Thanks for all the videos!!
Pro tip: If you want to change its color after making the spiral, instead of grouping the circles, select all of them individually, unify them by going to Path > Union, then apply the gradient. Then, instead of "duplicating" the bent circles shape, make a clone of it while rotating so you can edit the parent shape's color and have it affect the rest of the logo
I would if I had anything to use it for. I am a mod maker(fallout new vegas) and GIMP is what I use, which YOUR tutorials for GIMP are invaluable... From what I can see, Inkscape or anything i can do in it doesnt seem to really be used in FONV... nothing to really make or edit for it. If it did I would use it too. Unless you can maybe do a tutorial for something like that what it can be used for in FONV? I know that isnt really something you do, but if you do one day i jsut cant see for my own use or what to do with it. But I still love watching how you do things in it! Geeze yous a wizard Nick!
About the distortion of the circles: Is there a way to create a perfect polygon and snap the centers of the individual circles to a set of neighbouring vertices? (here for example a 30-gon to get a nice, smooth "curve") That could preserve the "perfect circle nature" while still adding the arch effect.
Hi Nick! Thak Yo very much for your tutarials. Pleas I need Soften pixelated edges. Can you tell me how to improve the edges of an image? I'm making a logo in Gimp and the edges are very pixelated. Thanks in advance.
Great tutorial and a beautiful design. You must have an extremely high res on your desktop now. I know that has to help when you are drawing items to have the tools and control boxes be so small.
My monitor is 3840x2160 but I temporarily change it to 1920x1080 for these tutorials in order to make the icons more visible. Apparently it doesn't help much. My old monitor was 1920x1080 and nobody ever seemed to have a problem seeing the menu items on the tutorials I made back when I was using it. It's odd how the same resolution is giving me different results.
It doesn't matter that much to me...boy I wish I could get that resolution, I am always having to minimize my tool control boxes on the right to have enough screen to work on a piece. I am just jealous that's all. I love your stuff and you have taught me tricks I never would have found on my own.
Hi sir you do great job, but please let me know which version of inkspace I install becz i stuck some places most of times I can't find same functions. Hope u will solve my problem thank you.
Nice tutorial! I got a question: Is there a way of creating a noisy/grainy Art Deco gradient on top of a shape? I've tried different filters but I can't get a nice result that doesn't look ugly or distorts my original shape.
I think this is a nice example of what kind of gradient I want to achieve: imgur.com/QZjLk Here's another one, but this is a bit to noisy for me (looks too much like film grain): behance.net/gallery/33256651/COSMIC-STRUCTURES Thanks for your help.
Please please PLEASE a tutorial on less stylised & more realistic vector galaxy. Like something one can use as back drops for graphically simple space games or other similar applications. Thanks again and again for all your good work sir!
I am missing something. It all goes fine until the copying and rotating. In your video you just have a dotted box around your object, but I get all the handles and it doesn't copy. I have the new version of Inkscape. Does that make a difference?
3:21 I have just tried step by step... I created this two circles and followed the follow on steps... but for some reason... it has not created the 5 cirlces and I do not see the group settings. I am using version 1 from teh inscape ...I do not know what I miss, tried... to figure it...any idea someone? THank you
Hey :) I have a question about the extensions thing. When I click it like in the video and go to generate to path, then there's no interpolate thing :/ what can I do?
Hi again! Thank you for your answer. After some "diggins" I realised that i had installed the x32 version and it didn't work properly on a x64 system. After re-installing the x64 version of the program it works just fine.
hi thanks for your work... i love it :) could you make a video on how to start with inkscape? like usefull things... i mean it would make me (us) understand more of what you do keep it up!
Hey there nick, great I have a question, when I try to do the extrude thing, an error occurs saying something about strokes and fillistyle something like that. How can I sort that out.
Hi Nick I am a big fan of your inkscape tutorial videos, but today I was watching one of your older videos from 2015 titled inkscape tutorial carved wood effect, I noticed in this video you did not have the black icons and the black theme in inkscape with the gray theme it is much easier to see what you are clicking on icons, puldown menus etc. I wish you would go back to the gray theme in inkscape.
I think that You did not understand my waits I would simply want to realize french tutoriels by basing on your tutoriels and on other material ( book. tutoriels) OK but not to make yours by simply modification (I would want to be inspired in Ideas from your tutoriels simply put) plz just tell me what do you think Thinks once again.
Please submit the Gimp and inkscape lessons through any GNU / Linux distribution, I can not watch this windows Thank you for your wonderful lessons anyway
for newer version
Enable z order
play around with interpolate steps and exponent until you get a range from light blue to purple
apply
ungroup then select all then use the align and distribute to place them properly.
Another great tutorial from you! Thank you so much. When I first use inkscape, I had totally no idea how to use it and you really helped a lot.

Damn you nick! Although I dont use Inkscape... but your damn wizardry just astounds me! I LOVE IT!
You should give Inkscape a try, it's a great program 👍

Thank you man, You're the best, pls keep going !
It's like MAGIC
This is so simple but epic! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks! I am not an illustrator, but I enjoy watching your work.
Perfect! 👌 Looks like firework illustration!! 🎆
Thanks, who would have thought, that it is so easy!
Didn't know you could apply path effects to groups! Incidentally, the "rotate copies" path effect makes it very easy to play with the number of arms.
thank you nick
great tutorial!keep going Nick!

that was awesome, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much. Can I use this for my logo?
Thank you, Nick. The spacebar stamping doesn,t work on my machine. Don't know if it's the machine or Linux or the program, I used Duplicate instead,
Thank you sir
Great. I learnend a lot. Thank you !
What about the font in the thumbnail? How to multicolor it? Maybe explain in next tut. Thanks.
to be honest, why do not you just use your imagination and try things out for yourself? Nick can't just hold your hand and show you everything.
Convert the text to a path and then apply a linear gradient
Shubham Dalvi Try creating a text box and use gradient colour fill type by pressing G on the keyboard to get this effect. This might help!
no, he can do it in inkscape
I am missing something. It all goes fine until the copying and rotating. In your video you just have a dotted box around your object, but I get all the handles and it doesn't copy. I have the new version of Inkscape. Does that make a difference?
really useful tutorial as always . :)

Hey :) I have a question about the extensions thing. When I click it like in the video and go to generate to path, then there's no interpolate thing :/ what can I do?
I have a quick question for you. What can be the cause of Inkscape's crash when I try to use anything from the Extensions tab?
Thank you!
It might be a lack of CPU resources. What kind of processor and memory are you working with? Operating System?
Hi again! Thank you for your answer. After some "diggins" I realised that i had installed the x32 version and it didn't work properly on a x64 system. After re-installing the x64 version of the program it works just fine.
hi
thanks for your work... i love it :)
could you make a video on how to start with inkscape? like usefull things... i mean it would make me (us) understand more of what you do
keep it up!
Yes I have an entire series called Inkscape Explained. There should be a playlist for it on my channel's main page.
so embarrassing... i don't know how i missed it...
anyways - let the learning process begin!
How to do the interpolation in the Affinity designer ?
I get a syntax error when trying to use the extension setting interpolate
Anyone know a fix?
Hey there nick, great I have a question, when I try to do the extrude thing, an error occurs saying something about strokes and fillistyle something like that. How can I sort that out.
I love your tutorials, I even used the one from gimp to do my own😍🔥
you r a Genius
That's a bit of a stretch but thank you
How powerful Inkscape 😃
Please, can you put the icons larger graphic interface of InkScape? You hardly see what you do!
Thank you! A greeting!
Translated with Google.
Nice video!!
I enjoy so much the tutorials! Thanks & KUTGW

am using inkscape 0.92 but under extension menu under generate from path am only having inset/outset option only..
have can i add all other option
hey nick i have a question what is the width and height of a standard vector image ? i always have a problem when exporting a logo or a simple design
its what you want it to be ...depends what you are using it for
Thanks very much for your helfull tutorials plz can i download all your tutoriel and create others free tutoriel in french if you agree
I'd rather you not download my videos and re-upload them. You are more than welcome to create your own tutorials in French using these designs though.
I think that You did not understand my waits I would simply want to realize french tutoriels by basing on your tutoriels and on other material ( book. tutoriels) OK but not to make yours by simply modification (I would want to be inspired in Ideas from your tutoriels simply put) plz just tell me what do you think Thinks once again.
please can you use white background tools to understand your work. thanks
Interpolate style wouldn't generate anything but if i uncheck in the menu it draws the circles. Anyone else have this problem?
Excelent!
Cool dude Use full tutorial
thanks a lot
O homem é bom!
thank U a lot Bro
Interpolate option doesnt work with Inkscape 1.00 for me. Any one can solve it? Thanks in Advance
how to save as png or jpg or transparent
i am followig your playlis but the last two videos didn't work for me but i did what you did exactly the same thing but didn't work :/
can I use this logo on my channel?
Sure
do I need to get the extension to interpolate?
Nope. The reason you it might not work is because you haven't converted the objects to a path.
Tnx! I was just about to throw my pc through the window
can we make custom text in inkscape
+1 sire thankyou
Very cool guy :) 😊
Generate path is not working
Te quiero amiguis
Please submit the Gimp and inkscape lessons through any GNU / Linux distribution, I can not watch this windows
Thank you for your wonderful lessons anyway
I'll be using Windows for the foreseeable future. Sorry.
Out of curiosity why did you switch to windows? Your lessons kinda motivated me to completely switch to Linux.
