Bought this keyboard today to use with my Pi 3+ B. Also plugged it into my laptop running Linux Mint 18.3. It recognized the keyboard immediately. No head-aches with drivers. I don't really like the rattling sound from the keyboard while typing but for the price, I will live with it.
@@Whigu I'm willing to bet that Microsoft pays Logitech to not put that on there. Of course as we know the reason is Linux is the most used operating system in the world and FOR GOOD REASON!!! @@TechHarvest Hi! Been playing with it for 2 weeks now. Folks really need to download the "options" to modify some of the features. I turned off the "smooth scrolling" because the feature tended to scroll the text ahead of itself. Changed the "sleep" feature to "OFF" as something kept waking up my computer. Also turned off "zoom" feature as using 2 fingers to scroll sometimes triggered the zoom feature instead. I think it's great that the keyboard software allows for this customization. I would not have known this possible without your review. Love that I can now control my bedroom TV (hooked via HDMI cable to nearby computer) from the comfort of my bed :) Thanks again for your review, you did a thorough job of it!

like the idea of turning off the zooming and clicking. but does the software actually change the keyboard, or only the way the computer interprets it? in other words if you changed the settings, then used the keyboard on another machine, would it still bring those changes with it?
Thanks for the review. I ordered one already. It was more because it had a touchpad and not a separate mouse and it was the only cordless or one of a few, that had a silicone keyboard cover available from china. I use the keyboard in the dining room as multimedia and it is subjected to food residue at times. However, I would not have called this a multimedia keyboard as it does not have any media controls. Stop, play, pause, forward and backward. I regret the fact that it does not. I hope the touchpad works better than the existing keyboard I am using now, which is a Gearhead. With dirty or greasy fingers its touchpad is horrible and unreliable now. I would not say it is a result of my fingers because I have a thinkpad laptop and the touchpad on that is flawless and accurate with dirty fingers or not. Why can't all other touchpads work as well as on the thinkpad. I have found most other laptops from all brands work poorly compared to the thinkpads. It is really sad. I hope this touchpad works more reliably than the gearhead and more like the thinkpad.
I actually just prefer the original K400 as it has larger up&down arrow keys as well as a power-off hotkey (which may work with the Plus if you use the function + sleep command but I won't take the chance). The original K400 allows you to scroll with two fingers as well. There isn't a left-click button on the top left-corner though. I would also say, an improvement that could be made to make it absolutely perfect would be if it were backlit but that would increase the cost and the shift key has been made larger. Still, the original Logitech K400 is pretty essential if you like to use want a keyboard with your HTPC/media center. I personally use mine with an Ouya and a Chromebox and it's perfect for me (aside from it not being backlit).
Can the Logitech K4000 PLUS Wireless Keyboard be directly connected to the UA40K5000AK model Samsung TV or the Logitech K4000 PLUS Wireless Keyboard be connected to the UA40K5000AK model Samsung TV only via PC?
Might have to get this. Been using the K400r and it's not bad but having the shift key be a smaller button directly to the right side of the page up key kind of kills the keyboard for me.
The original k400/r design was better in my opinion. My biggest gripe with the newer version is the uneven arrow keys. The split up/down arrow completely throws of scrolling for web surfing and word processing. It would possibly have been a keeper had all arrow keys been identical in size similar to the k830. Returned both Black Friday bargain price K400 Plus to amazon and bought two backup k400/r versions from Walmart locally. I consider myself a decently fast typist, and I’ve never used the right shift key.
It all comes down to how you use something I guess. I can see why you would find the split arrow keys as a deal breaker just as I find the small shift key a deal breaker.
@@TechHarvest ... There was a deal on slickdeals.net, so I bought two. I really wanted to love it seeing as how I loved the original k400/r. I just bought the minix z64 windows. Will it work on a windows machine? I like the fact that you can hook up several devices to the kb. This means you dont have to waste an extra usb port on for example a mouse. Does the predecessor has that feature also? Do the batteries last? Minix own remote has problems with that.

does anyone out there know how I can get a similar tutorial about this keyboard but the Spanish layout explained in English. ie how to get forward slash, exclamation mark etc.
Trusteft The K400 has a slightly different layout, with the Shift key to the right of the arrow keys. The K400 seems to support Linux just fine, although the customization software is not supported, and some function keys may not work properly.

Hi, I'm looking at getting either the k400 or the k400 plus. Both are the same price and I am wondering which would be the better buy. Are there more gestures supported with the plus version than the original, like pinch to zoom? Thanks
+bluegpu I personally would go with the K400 Plus. Both keyboards are very similar in function but I find the small shift key of the K400 to be a deal breaker for me.

can i use it with out a dongle with bluetooth for my Ipad?
I have my dongle in the computer but I cant get the computer screen that changes the options. How do I get it?
I also wanted to know that but he prefered to waste time with the cat.
is dongle needed even if your pc/laptop/tv has bluetooth???
I have one of these, works very well with Mac mini
Are you able to use gestures on Mac Mini? I do own one Mac Mini and I'm planning on buying one soon. Would be great to have an answer from you...
can i plug this directly into my smart tv usb port?
Can you make an even louder intro? It didn't bleed my years to the full capacity, thanks.
what's the breed of the cat?
Amazon the price was $25, Walmart $20 I bought my third one and a bottle of clear nail polish to coat the keys because after several years the letters start wearing off, I like the little keyboard just fine.
Got ya, thanks for the reply, I appreciate it!
+bluegpu No problem.
Does it have backlight to type in at night?
I like the volume up and down when watching movie and the touchpad when i cant find the mouse
Nice review!!! Does anybody know if this keyboard works with MacOs logic Pro and final cut to zoom in and out and forward and backward multi gestures? Thanks
Will I get the same feels when I use a Macbook trackpad? Thanks!
Probably not.
the touchpad supports multigesture?
Loved the cat!...and the review of course:P
hated the cat, they are always socializing when u don't want and being mean when you try to play with them.
I would have expected functionality such as play/pause, forward, backward and stop to have dedicated keys and not just FN ones. Strange for a keyboard that even the manufacturer claims to be a great media keyboard.
the fn keys are literally the functionality keys bruh
