Cool detail, whether it’s intentional or not, that the three you start the game with piece together the finishing blow; Jansen initiates blocking the light, Kaim breaks the mirrors, Seth’s sacrifice. Her being the one to take that step makes sense too. She probably recognized she’d have to watch her son die a second time, (first being when she thought he died to Aneira) pretty soon from now, too, given his age. The other immortals have the full lives of Cooke and Mac (and Jansen in Ming’s case) to look forward to.
Well, Sakaguchi created Final Fantasy and Uematsu was the guy behind the epic music again. I love how they still snuck an old badass like Cid. Just named him Ced lol. It just really sucks that it didn't sell well enough and he had to halt development of his other games. The Xbox 360 barely sold in Japan and this was exclusive to it. 😞
I don't think it ever needs a sequel, nor a remaster. A straight-up port to modern systems is all it needs... which is something we'll never get, thanks to Microsoft and Mistwalker refusing to do so in their argument over rights and whatnot.
I just saw the ending today and I love this game, I fell in love with it's battle system, their characters, a lot of really good moments, but the final boss and the ending have been a bittersweet experience, like, Gengara (I played it in Spanish, some names change) it's evil and that's all, I thought there would be a more detailed explanation about his purposes or something deeper than just "I'm the bad guy I want power", and I don't know if I misunderstood something but the story and the world of the immortals is poorly explained, why are they there, how both worlds connect? Why the mirrors are important? I don't know I felt a lot of things in 60 hours that I played but those final 3 hours in my opinion were kind of meaningless
If you go to Gongora's mansion in Uhra behind the seal that Tolten can break, there is a recording he left from 1000 years ago back when all 5 of the immortals came to this world in search of what's causing their own world's dimension (or something like that i cant remember atm) was slowly colliding with the mortal world and was causing threat to their worlds existence. When they were sent here to investigate Gongora observed how mortals lived and how each one had what he called A Virus and sometime later he himself felt like he's gotten that virus too and he liked how it felt. (or something like that again cant recall the whole thing) In short points: -Gongora saw what mortals pursue with passion, almost like an addiction as A Virus, because they would dedicate their short lives to that one thing that drives them. -He later said that he too thinks he got that virus because he started to like the how their presence in this world improved this world magic energy and slowly started to let greed for power (virus) take root and didn't wanna stop nor go back to his world after the scheduled 1000 year long expedition to the mortal world. -He saw that others Kaim, Ming, Seth and Serah were at odds with him, that they wanted all 5 of them to go back to their world because their mission time of 1000 years was up and it was time to go back and report to their world. -Gongora said he refuses to go back since he can rule in this mortal world as a god and sealed their memories in order to stop them from going back or making him go back to their world.
10 out of 10 game. If you want to try and support them more check out Expedition 33. They may reboot this game or do a remake if it does well. Same combat system but brand new franchise. 100% CHECKING IT OUT! im sure you would love to see a remake or reboot of this amazing franchise too.

i love how that camera work and transition worked so well with the music after Kaim said "We Have to finish Gongora off now!"
This feels and sounds more final fantasy than most final fantasy games these days.

my copy froze on the second disc many years ago, i never got around to finding another copy. Thank you.
This game deserves a sequel. And a remaster would definitely fit the nintendo switch mold.

All the audio of my cutscenes stopped working, so I synched this video up to my game and it worked well
The light literally burining all of the mortals at the beginning, meanwhile Sed on the first part of the fight.
Jensen seems to be the most self-aware of them all.
