    We liase a lot behind the scenes as we do with many vendors. It's important that we work together to bring you products that work well together but also that you have our combined support when you need it. And we are also good friends and both love the hobby of astrophotography which is why we have our own fun doing Astroworkz too!
    Catch up on news on the little Seestar electonic assisted telescope, the all new AM3 lightweight mount, the ASIAIR Plus 256G model and ASI2600 Duo plus our exciting range of new flat field APO refractors.
    And of course news from Explore Scientific with info on their new focuser which we reviewed recently and tested over the past 12 months or so and their new uprated IEXOS mount and I am sure we will get a review model of that to take a look at soon!

    I’m new to this hobby and was failing, ZWO completely changed everything. I’m now confident and producing some pretty cool images. Thank you ZWO.

    I have a question about the upcoming CAA. You said at NEAF in a number of videos that the optical length is 16.5mm. The opening is 54mm. What will be the total optical length after adding the M54 -M48 (or M42) adapters needed at both ends? Thank you. I am planning ahead here 😉

    • @TeamAstroworkz
      @TeamAstroworkz  Год назад

      the adapters are recessed so keeps the overall optical length the same ... I'll be doing a video soon with some details :)

    • @tempusfugit6820
      @tempusfugit6820 Год назад

      That sounds promising. Will the adapters be included with the rotator? All M54 adapters I see available now (Pegasus) all add 2mm of optical length.

      @@tempusfugit6820 sorry missed that - yes as far as I know I was planned to be - these are recessed into the body so dont add to the length

    I've got a couple of questions about the Seestar:
    1. Does it have a camera rotator, so that you can adjust the angle of the picture? And since it includes an Alt/Az mount, to compensate for the earths rotation?
    2. Does the software support mosaics? Some of the larger DSOs are just a bit to big for its field of view.
    3. Can you use dual-narrowband-filters with it?

    • @TeamAstroworkz
      @TeamAstroworkz  Год назад

      No rotator no ... so yes does limit single exposures .. no mosaics..remember the target audience really isn't going have any experience..they are all very advanced features...dual band filters .. that's being discussed along with solar filters etc

      @@TeamAstroworkz Thanks for the quick reply.
      While I get your point about this being a device for beginners (and at its price point, the feature set is certainly OK), might I suggest to develop and release an upgraded version for the more experienced user in the future?
      For one thing, you might be able to get some beginners into astrophotography with the Seestar S50. However, it will be a challenge to retain them in the hobby because the gap between such a ready to use device and an astrophotography rig that has to be fully assembled and adjusted might be quite a bit too large for many of them.
      And then there might be quite a few people like me out there. I don’t have the space to store my astrophotography rig assembled. So each time I want to take photos, I have to lug it out of the cellar, assemble it and adjust it. This is such a pain in the …, that I only do this, when perfect conditions are forecast. If I had a device that can just lay on the shelf ready to use, I’m sure I would use it much more often. (That’s why I preordered it anyway. But a version with more advanced features would be much appreciated.)

    ZWO like most Chinese companies with a captive market are ripping off customers as they have few competitors in terms of camera manufacturers, in the UK there is a whopping £650 price difference between cameras featuring Sony's IMX571 sensor, I bought the Altair 26C using this sensor and didn't buy the ZWO alternative 2600 and saved £650, wake up people!!!

    • @TeamAstroworkz
      @TeamAstroworkz  Год назад

      Depends on your market and exchange rate ...in NZ that Altair camera is roughly same price due exchange rates ... even taking into account the VAT adjustment ... for a lot of people that buy at US dollar prices there is little difference .. id be carrying shipping too internationally... its notcquite that cut n dried TBH

    • @desbarry8414
      @desbarry8414 Год назад +1

      @@TeamAstroworkz You cant really defend a whopping £650 price difference either way you look at it, its sheer profiteering by ZWO.

    • @TeamAstroworkz
      @TeamAstroworkz  Год назад +1

      @Des Barry likely UK exchange rates or dealer mark up TBH i dont know exactly, but as I said the Altair here is almost same price as ZWO pricing .. so for some markets, it's not the big gap you seem to see in the UK.. exchange rates are ugly at times ... ukp is x2 in Nzd where USD rates are 1.7 add in duty n shipping and it all adds up .. I have same problem buying from any UK dealer
      ..at one point UKp n euro were better options than USD dealers but long gone sadly as FLO and 365 astro were favs shopping places
