  • In this video I start off by tackling some interior work. First I busted out the old wood in the transom and replaced with closed cell foam and glassed it in. Next false floors were added as well as front and rear casting decks. Next I brushed on some paint and then took a trip to Gheenoe to get new rub rails, nose cap, and transom backing. I also restored my trailer and added sea deck I hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching and always like, comment, and subscribe. Look out for my next video when I take this beaut for a spin and catch some fish!

    Alex, thank you so much! A friend and I as kids, inherited a neighbor’s Gheenoe (Lakeland) after his days of fishing were behind him. (No motor, but trolling motor included. No battery. Can’t have everything)
    We wanted a platform forward and aft. Our first mistake was asking both our dad’s for help. Both were Engineers. By the time they were done, the weight of the Gheenoe was doubled.
    I now have a 2nd Gheenoe 20 years later, and have wanted to put in a couple platforms, battery hatches and small dry storage compartment. This video is a huge help! If there wasn’t a 3 years waiting list, I’d just buy an LT-25. This is going to be a great Winter Garage project. Thanks again!

    • @alx2456

      It’s makes the floor flat like a flats boat. Gheenoe’s come with a rigid floor the slants inward

    Did you use foam boards for the floor? And then rely on the fiberglass to be strong enough alone??

    • @alx2456
      @alx2456  2 года назад +1

      I cut pvc pipe in half long ways and used them as stringers fiber glasses in. Then on the foam one layer of chop strand and one layer or 1708 biaxial. Then I painted with epoxy based paint. Then sea deck to finish it off. It’s hard as a rock.

    • @alx2456

    Hey bro what size and what kind of stuff did you use for the floor?

    • @alx2456
      @alx2456  3 года назад

      It’s closed cell foam 1 inch thick with 1 layer or chop strand and one layer of 1708 biaxial then painted it with an epoxy based paint. It’s a cheaper way than using star board and better than wood that will eventually deteriorate
