I have the exact same boat, and currently in the middle of a restore myself. Love how you modified the transom. I rebuilt mine and never thought about extending it up higher. Also like you, I don't have a garage and as a result, it really hinders the restore process. I'm in Canada and my restore time is about 2-3 months during the summer. I'm three years into it now, but looks like it will see water early next summer. Your restore looks amazing. Something you should be very proud of.
@@leafy3137 nice! I would love to see what another boat looks like of the same make and model, I have scoured everywhere on the internet and cannot find a single picture. Half the reason I made the transom higher was because I have the wrong outboard 😂 apparently there's two types, a short one and a long one, When I uploaded a picture of my boat I got hundreds of comments indicating I have the wrong motor on my boat, So instead of getting the right motor I just modified my boat 😂 I'm in Manitoba myself, we got more than 2-3 months lol, I started in April and paused in July to use what I got and not sweat to death in the garage tent. Keep your eyes peeled at Canadian Tire. These things go on 50% off all the time. That's when I got mine. And thanks I appreciate it, it's been a really fun project and I'm really considering doing another lol. Keep this as my fishing/mini bass boat and ideally I'd like something a little faster and has seats, make the second boat a "comfort" boat to exploring/camping. I knew going in that basically 95% of the time I'd be boating alone, so it was mainly tailored as just my fishing boat.
Dude I love ur build def need more boating content. Keep up the great work. And much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤. Gives me some ideas since I have a 14ft aluminum boat so yea can't wait.
Great looking build with a ton of thought put into it! I’m in the middle of my own Jon boat to bass boat conversion, so I’m familiar with everything that can go sideways!
It hasn't been too bad, hindsight I regret the foam, didn't turn out as expected and was like $180, if I could do it again, keep it all the same but no foam and keep the back unsealed to essentially have the entire bottom under the subfloor open and can flow freely under it all. And pausing 80% the way through to use over the summer actually turned out to be a good thing. Missed a spot on the transom I had to patch and I built it up an inch too high and planning to notch down so it's lower (I'll make a video about it lol) and the cheap $2 caulk I bought is all cracked, not sure why I thought it would be okay, never was in my shower lol so biting the bullet and using some automotive grade RTV silicone. So had I waited till it was done I would have ruined my fresh paint job and had to redo fixing those few things and been unaware basically everything I sealed all cracked and no longer a seal as it'd be hidden under the foam
Ideally I'm hoping to order more aluminum angles to finish the hatch lids and dry tracks, and 2 sheets to replace the temporary chip board next month. Then slowly over winter order and install some odds and ends (additional bilge pumps, lights, hatch locking latches and gas struts) that I can do in the cold but the finishing touches like final exterior sanding, prime, paint and clear coats, as well as the EVA deck foam, I'll need the temperatures to be warm. I'll make sure to record more of the build, maybe break up into some shorter videos as I go along. But my plan is to have everything done but the paint and deck foam for the spring so I got all summer to use and enjoy.
Have you come out cheaper so far buying your own material as opposed to buying kits from tiny boat nation??just assuming since you watched them you compared pricing
Oh significantly cheaper, also, I'm in Canada so just the shipping alone is literally more than what it cost. Buying it locally and it's much cheaper. Buying it in 20-ft sticks versus getting them in 8-ft legs which gives you a lot of extra pieces
@@potatojz38 personally for 1600 I feel you could have found a much better setup maybe one with a console or something but again it's my opinion I've been on the hunt for 2 months now and fb marketplace from basstrackers to old school StarCrafts atleast 4 boats in my area around an hours drive or so with outboards sell for around 500! But it's also nice seeing how you did this with flat bottoms I think the vhull builds are few so that's awesome!
Отличная получилась лодка! Классное видео! Мне очень понравилось! Круто Круто!!!👍👍👍

Thanks 👍
This is great man.subcribed. be waiting hard on the next video
Thanks, probably won't be till spring but depending on cash flow and weather I might try and do some things over the fall/winter.

@@Mumzzz how so? I can easily sell just the trailer alone for $700 to $800 and the outboard for minimum $2,000
