  • Ultimately, only a comprehensive and biblical view of the light of God’s holiness can rescue us from the darkness. As we recognize who God is, we will recognize who we are and what we have become, and the Holy Spirit will use that knowledge to revive in His people a renewed zeal for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and a boldness to proclaim that although human beings are great sinners, there is a greater Savior who can rescue us through the gospel. Dr. R.C. Sproul calls us back to a right view of our holy God that prompts us to repent of our sins and trust continually in His forgiveness through Christ.

It’s easy for the believer to read the first 5 verses of Isaiah 6 and feel nothing, but sometimes I will sit and read those 5 verses over and over again and put myself in Isaiah’s place. The presence of the Lord is an obvious & Ultimate fretful sight but most neglect how frightening it also must have been for Isaiah to stand before those holy Seraphims. I have heard many professed Christians proclaim that because they are Christian that they no longer need to fear God, that’s foolishness, to stand before this Lord is a terribly frightening thing..One of the easiest ways to humble yourself in the sin of your pride is to put yourself in Isaiah’s shoes in the first 5 verses of Isaiah 6, we are NOTHING outside of his mercy & grace!!

It's like the fifth time I'm listening to a sermon on Isaiah 6 by RC Sproul, and still I feel the chills that Isaiah had in that vision. We daily need this experience to remember ourselves that we serve a holy holy holy God who deserves to be feared and worshipped in truth. Thank you RC yet again.

Earlier I was lying in bed. I was contemplating the name of God. Holy, Holy, Holy. Oh, I was filled with awe, wonder, and fear. How great is the God we serve to whom alone is the kingdom, power, and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I love this dear man; even though I've never personally met him. I am devastated by his passing. Wish everyone could be as genuine.

12 years of roman catholic school and I was NEVER taught the full bible nor even given a bible (je les accuse). Especially, RC's kind of reverence for God's holiness, nor was I warned during my precious preteen and teenage years of many biblical dangers. The Lord bless all the prodigals for a safe journey back home.

One of the best sermons I have ever heard in my life, no doubt ! I get why John MacArthur once said " RC is the master of Isaiah 6 " 🙌🏼

I do miss this man. He has really changed my life. Reminds me of a text in Hebrews, ”Abel though dead yet speaketh”. RC though dead yet speaketh.

I listen to R. C. Sproul’s words describing Isaiah chapter 6 and I fall to my knees and cry, “Have mercy on me Lord for I am a sinner unworthy to be in your presence!“

That is a sermon: when God's word takes you beyond a preacher, the mere mortal that he is, and leads to you to communion with the Soveriegn Lord in fear that has been married together with great confidence in God's grace! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!
