Really neat to emphasize it can be a one-handed operation. Good to know for disabled and those who are amputees 👍🏻 good video. Thanks. I appreciate it.
Thank you ! I usually use 2 hands just because I can but it really does mount and unmount nicely. I have a 4 wheeler with a plow that stays on for the winter once it’s on, but I always take the plow off the General because it’s so easy and then I don’t have to worry about hitting anything with it when I’m driving around. 😉
Get a cable stop for the winch. They are about 5-10 bucks on e-bay.Just bought a couple different styles for my new 570 w/plow so i do not have the issue you did.
It’s a Polaris Plow. 72”. The Hydraulics was a must have for me because I used to plow with a 4 wheeler with manual angling. It’s a pain having to stop to change angles all the time. This setup really saves a lot of time over using the 4 wheeler.
Mine is all Polaris. The hydraulic mount was separate from the blade when I bought it. The controls for it on are the joystick inside. My dealer mounted it all for me.
@@steffenoutdoorswi yeah I saw that after my comment. You could grab a heavy duty carabiner and hook to that. I have a WARN plow on my General, and it came with a little bit similar hook up. I ended up getting a single pulley that had a hook attached. I hook it to the plow, run the cable through the pulley and back up to the bumper. This does three things: It allows the plow to be raised about twice as high as before so you can pile snow higher, it reduces the strain on the winch line, effectively halving the force needed to lift the plow and snow, and it slows the plow lifting and lowering speed by half, making smaller height adjustments possible. I'm actually getting the Polaris plow on my XD 1500 ranger, so I will have to make some of these modifications again. Good luck! Thanks for the video!
So tell us more about the stand. This is an amazing upgrade. You have to have a synthetic rope. general.polaris.com/en-us/shop/accessories/winches/2881289/ back to the stand and where to get it! Good job.
It’s right from the factory. All Polaris parts. My General is the Deluxe so the winch came with it and it has a steel cable not synthetic. The stand came with it too, supposedly the aftermarket ones don’t have that? I didn’t fact check it though. I bought it at Powersports of Abrams Wisconsin. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. Yeah my friend Bill told me about those. I never needed it on the 4 wheeler, but of course I could see that plow. I have a rubber stopper now, just got it. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!

I love the idea of the center marker for knowing height! I am going to borrow that idea for mine, thank you.
Cool vid! Man is the General ever an amazing machine!!!
Thanks! Yes, it is a great machine! Thanks for watching! I appreciate it!
fit in a large washer so the hook end snugs washer up against rollers.
If you had ride command it comes with "plow mode" and he's sets for up down back drag and everything you can think of so u don't need the pink stuff
Interesting! Thank you!

Thanks! My friend Bill told me about those. Just installed one. Polaris should include it with their which right?! Thanks for watching!
I put a cable stop on mine.
I hope you enjoy my video on removing and remounting a plow on my Polaris General. It's extremely easy, so easy I can do it with one hand!
Which plow is that? Like the hydraulic part

Is that the Polaris glacier pro HD plow or just the Polaris glacier pro? Nice video
Thank you. It’s the glacier Pro.
Can u add the hydraulic to a standard 72 inch plow?

Why not hook the winch hook directly to the plow instead of using that metal extender? Then you can raise the plow higher.
@@AV8R_1 I could use a shorter extender. The hole in the plow itself is not conducive to connecting directly to it.
