- Backpacking in winter on Dartmoor. A largely dry, but breezy forecast, so I decided to chance my arm. Heading out equipped for as much as 5-6 days on the moor if circumstances were favourable, I only lasted 2 nights. A deteriorating forecast meant a bail-out was the sensible decision.
Tors and Rocks visited or seen in the film: West Mill, Little, Hampster, High Willhays, Dinger, Lints, Broad Amicombe Hole, Lynch, Limsboro, Clay (Hemery), Great Mis, Roos and Great Staple.
The Moor will still be there another day...

Not especially. It's probably about as noisy as any other tent in strong winds, but it sheds the wind quite well, so it sounds worse than it is.
so, is the aston not that good in the wind then? tho tbh, last couple weeks have been breezy on the moors, I wouldnt trust anything other than a TS or a hilleberg up there at mo.Nice to see you back out on the Moors.
