Andy you can’t win ‘em all mate. As long as you’re safe and sound that’s all that matters. Better luck next time.
Cheers Steven
Lol it's a great video man, I like your clobber, you really blended with the landscape, that was good. The camera work on the moors was beautiful and stunning, I love Dartmoor, that was good. The sheep with two colours means it's been successfully mated by the male lol, the video was epic, shame about the pole and drone, I think everyone understands we all get dealt a bit of that along the way. It didn't stop you putting out a stunning video though.
My mate paints his drones dayglow red and puts a few bits of reflective tape on them, you can see it easy in daylight and shine a torch around at night and it shows up with the tape. Makes them a lot easier to spot if they go down. Doesn't help the ones he gets stuck in trees sadly.
Lord above Andy!
I lost a video camera in there when I was out with Wiltshire Man a couple of years ago. As for the rest of it, I'm going to email you my phone number, your truck was parked 3 miles from my house. I could have brought you a pole or put you up for the night. As you know I'm out with Carl this weekend but if you email me roughly where you think it maybe I'll go out next weekend, I know the point where you filmed that segment but rough direction of flight, river left or right would be good.
Love this x
rhialobran:- Top man Si.
But did he find it? 🙈
@@volwars You'd have to watch my video to find out ;)
Losing a drone is heartbreaking. I only lost a £20 one from Lidl, but it still cuts deep.
Thanks for the video regardless man. Peace.
I’ve had days like that, heck I had a year like that! Good if you to share warts and all. Thank you. Cheers
Thanks for sharing the bad times as well as the good, I'm sorry you had a rough time but I think it's really important for creators to share when things go wrong so our sense of reality doesn't get all skewed thinking life should be nothing but perfect sunsets and instagram-worthy dinners. People already hold themselves up to unrealistic standards, it's refreshing and I'm always grateful to see honest content like this that reassures me I'm not the only one who has absolute disaster days!
Loving how you've thrown yourself into your channel after your hiatus. Top drawer content. Here's to the next 100k subs. All the best Andy 👍
If you have a DJI DRONE, then just go on find my drone within the app, it will take you straight to it
I was going to say the same. The transponder can last a couple of days apparently.
Ty been thinkin to buy a drone but feared losin it n wasting monies
DJI should come back to where you took off from.
You made the wise decision. You have to know when to call it "done", before you get into a worse situation. Glad you're safe!
This vid is like "A day in the life of Gundog." Hang in there Andy
Anyway, good job done, mate. Strong man knows to admit also his losses and weaknesses. Thanks for it, bro!
It says a lot about you for posting your “failures”. You could have easily just deleted this footage
Tip of the hat to you, sir!
That one pony couldn't look you in the eye. I think we found your drone. 😋
Thank you for a great video Andy. It can be so frustrating when everything seems stacked against you. Just know that you still managed to make a really awesome nature video. Thanks mate, and cheers and a hug from Denmark!
Mate -sorry about your drone!! What a bummer! Sometimes things just don’t turn out how you expected -kudos for posting anyway mate. 👍
Just a great video that helps us think about the ‘what ifs’ when preparing to venture out. Thanks for sharing.
Oh heck! That was an expensive walk. Thanks for sharing when things go wrong. I’ve always learned more when I’ve fallen out of a canoe than when in it! Keep smiling and making great videos.
Oh no,one of those days. Thanks for still uploading,as it shows these things happen to the best of us.Sending best wishes*
I was determined to make a video with what footage I had haha, thanks :)
Thanks for sharing, Andy, even if it was a rough outing. Keep your head up and think about how much better the next camp will be.
Had a few days like this recently totaly screws with my motivation to get back out 😡 .... sorry you lost the drone and didnt get to camp out but it was still a good watch as always 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks buddy.. im mostly over it now.. ready to go back haha
Least you were out in the beautiful sunshine for a while, plus we got to see some scenery :) hope you find your drone.
No need to apologize about anything it was still a great vid, I enjoyed the scenery immensely. If you ask me those sheep had your drone all that time and we're probably having a great laugh about it that evening.
Thank's for the trip Andy, my BLOOD is from England I love seeing all these places You & Simon take us all. Sorry for your loss. TAKE CARE..
Stunning views in the video, Thanks so much for posting. Gear can be replaced but Andy can't! Glad you are safe and sound mate! Looking forward to the next one..this wild camp maybe perceived as a fail or flawed.. I see it as an amazing life experience and something to be treasured/learned. Precious indeed!
Always pack a sense of humor Andy. You make do and do what you can. Thank you for always making an effort to share your adventures...big or small. Be well!
Andy, I feel for ya brother. But thank you so much for sharing another awesome adventure even if it didn't seem awesome. We all have those, I love it you shared yours
Ur comment bout the bones had me laughing pretty hard. Im sorry u lost ur drone i hope something works out for u. Great video anyway looked like a great area
Oh yeah I have experienced times like this before when it seems like everything goes wrong. Andy I hope the next adventure is spot on fantastic.
Sorry to hear about the disaster with the drone and pole. Thanks for keeping the films so honest and showing your experiences good and bad. We enjoy these a lot and has made us get out and try stuff as well as the cooking. Keep up the good work 👍
It’s actually good you posted this video. It shows not everything goes as planed. Glad you’re safe. Better luck next time. Thanks for the video’s.
Well Andy im hoping theres someone connected to a drone company seeing your vid that is willing to send one to you and have you review it :) still a thumbs up for your video :)
Starts so well the weather looks amazing! Feel for you mate.
It's good that you felt it was worth posting this trip that didn't go to plan. Hope the drone loss wasn't too expensive but anything worth buying to use for youtube etc won't be cheap. At least walking poles aren't going to break to the bank. Keep up the good work, I always enjoy your uploads, your knowledgable presentation and your "jolly" personality.
I love that you share your fails too, was still a great video with gorgeous scenery.
i lost a camera tripod on Dartmoor a few years ago, i spent hours looking for it as it was an expensive one, at least your safe and well Andy, we all have total failure on a trip now and then, keep the vids coming and if you ever feel like having some company on the moors send me an email as im local to Dartmoor
I'm sorry about your drone! The surroundings are beautiful, thanks for sharing! Just happy you got back to your truck safely. Take care!
Sorry for the equipment loss. Thank you for taking us along, I still enjoyed the video.
As far as im concerned its still genuine content.
Beautifully shot and extremely well edited as usual.
Keep up the outstanding work your channel is superb!!!
Well, you did better than the last time I was on Dartmoor (winter 76-77). Our survival exercise turned real when the snow came down, and helicopters were dropping hay to stranded and starving sheep. We had radio contact, and a schedule for updates - we could have been pulled out, but as we were coping they let us be, and a long weekend turned into 10 days. But it was frickin' cold!
It's the reality of our hobby! Bravo for uploading - makes us all feel better knowing these sorts of things are inevitable.
Enjoyed the lovely scenery in your video. Excellent and really relaxing to watch. Gave a really good feeling of the beauty of Dartmoor. Worth you taking a spare collapsible alloy pole in your pack, not heavy, but a vital piece of kit. Keep up the v nice vids!
You win some, you lose some. None of us are here to judge, but to learn and posting less successful trips only makes things more realistic. Looking forward to the next one!
Just goes to show how the more technology you rely on, the more stress piles up on you.
I've camped under a Brit Army BASHA with poles that were under 3ft, once in the sleeping bag the tarp was only around 20+cm above my head, yes, it was crap trying to film it but still, it was a shelter and very comfy. andy definitely could still have camped overnight despite the walking pole mishap, then could have searched for the drone the following day.
With the walking pole that short, a simple plowpoint tarp setup (if andy had decent length of paracord) would have sufficed even without a tree!
Didn’t even get to camp, but yet it was still a quality video, that’s why I like Kent survival!
Well done for showing your failings, your only human mate. Other you tubers would not have put this up! At least you were out and about. Take care brother.
It shows how easy a trip can go south so to speak . It can happen to anyone and I am an expert at camping failures, but I am getting better . Thanks for another decent video and I wished my camera work was half as good as yours . See you soon .
Man, that's one rough day, Andy. I hope you get back and at least find your drone. Chin up, mate! At least you got outside to have a bad day instead of just another crappy day at work or stuck indoors. 🤙
Lovely sunset. Thanks for the effort, you faced adversity with a smile on your face. You're a better man than I. Better luck next time.
Sorry this one didn't work out Andy, but pleased that you still shared it with us!
Your animation is wild!
I'm in Japan.
It's snowy today.
Your animation becomes impatient for spring!
I am SO sorry about your gear mishaps, and the “failed” overnighter! But, in my view, the video itself was actually a success, and quite enjoyable: the sped-up time lapse of the that breathtaking sunset with the sheep skittering across the field was absolutely & unquestionably PRICELESSLY beautiful (and you likely would NOT have captured it quite that way if everything had gone according to plan)! Also enjoyed the sped-up footage of your path on the way back to your vehicle! And this was also a reminder that, yes- things can and do go wrong, so it was helpful to see how you handled it. So, like I said: this was a “win” in spite of everything (or maybe BECAUSE of everything!). ALWAYS enjoy your vids; thanks so much for your mild-mannered and engaging sharing! 💐💐💐
Keep going fella, always nice to see you 💪👍
It's good that you posted a video where things did not go as planned. Most RUclipsrs would never be that brave. Better luck next time.
I've had my share of fails too! Good luck my man!
We all have our bad days and thank you for sharing this video instead of not posting it, stay safe Andy
Oh crap! Andy you did the right thing packing it in this time, the thought of you filming in an extremely saggy, frozen and wet tent really fills my heart with dread! The Moors are hard places at the best of times, next time you'll smash it, just don't forget the Oh Boy hot chocky!
Thanks for the video, not dull in any way matey.
Keep up the good work
What a bummer for you Andy hope things improve as I always look forward to your posts.
Thanks.. im over it already.. ready to go back :) cheers
Thank you for putting the video up regardless, Andy! Bummer about the drone though!
cheers :)
Damn what a sickener, you done well to remain calm, if it had been me I would have thrown a wobbly, done some screaming, finished with a bit of crying of 'why me, why lord?'
At least you didn’t get hurt or stranded out there. Glad you put out a video that showed that bad stuff happens to you too and you weren’t too prideful to share with the rest of us. There’s always next time. I hope you complete a big job to afford a new drone.
We've all had those days. Much more time for many adventures to come. I know this won't keep you down.
Look where you were, beautiful place! Winning whilst your’e losing 👍🏻
What a pain, at least when you arrived back at the truck you still had the keys!
It was still a beautiful day for a hike. It does seem like it was one of those “Murphy’s Law” kind of days. I still enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
No worries. There are good days and bad days. Still good to see you out there and staying a bit upbeat!!
Gutted for you Andy and you still managed to get a sunset for us better luck next time mate😁👍
cheers mate.. it is what it is haha
That's life Andy, shit happens. You'll laugh about it in the future. I still enjoyed the video though mate, keep 'em coming!!👍
Iv seen your channel grow alot in the past month, keep everything the same you doin a great job
Keep it up bud, sometimes it's just not your day... hope the next trip will be better. It is looks like a lovely place though.
Look on the bright side dude...at least you didn't get lost😂
Thanks for the honest content, I miss read FAIL as FALL and thought the poor blighter, he's lost his drone, lost the end of his pole had a rubbish day and is about fall over at any minute :( , Glad you didn't have a fall, and wishing you all the good luck you need for your next trip. Thanks Andy ;) ATB
I still enjoyed the video mate, it was refreshing and interesting to see you cope with this disappointment in a creative way.
Thank you for including this video. This was quite an adventure. Sorry you lost your drone.
Seriously mate...if there's one thing I've learned over the years it's that sometimes fate will just take a dump into your pint whatever you try to do, sorry you lost your drone, still good to see someone who will still post when things go fubar, looking forward to the next one, chin up dude!
Nice truck. Thanks for the video. God bless.
Hey Andy. Can't you track the drones last location on app. You used to be able to on the DJI app
didn't have gps set up.. rushed to use it.. my fault
Kent Survival gutting mate. Congratulations on the 100k though. Keep up the good work.
Sorry about the mishaps! But your video was great as always. :-D Thanks for sharing with us... and good luck on your next adventure! :-D
I believe that sometimes everything happens for a reason..
The most important that you're safe mate...
Oh my gosh I laughed so hard when I read that your battery went! I just couldn't believe it could get worse but then it did!
Well, at least you didnt turn out like the other lost drone guy. RIP.
You made it to see another day . No matter how bad it gets it's the attitude of adapting and overcoming to get home that counts . Gear can be replaced ,you can't. See you soon. Great lesson this.
A right bugger, that is. I hope that you might be able to recover the drone at some point. For all the lack of events within your own outing, I enjoyed what you had to share. As you say, not every trip is a success and some would choose to share nothing at all. Hope you get out again soon and all the best.
What bad luck mate. We've all had days like it. Atleast you got back. If I hear of anyone finding a drone up on Dartmoor I'll let you know. Take care cheers Karl 🤟🤟
At least you didn't trip and take a header into that stream, looked chilly...
I'm sorry for the loss of your drone. Even sorrier that you had to pull the plug on the trip. I'm sure you'll have better luck next time. ☺
Hope that you are able to get back and find your drone. Good video anyway! Thanks for sharing!
maybe I should put out a reward :p
@@KentSurvival LOL!!! Did you find it?
Dartmoor is nice not been there for about 3 years just not your week losing the drone and part of your pole atb stuart
happens to everyone thanks for posting an honest post .
At least you kept smiling that's a 10 plus right there. Thanks for sharing
Bless your heart . Sometimes you just need to call it a day and head back home .
I know you count it as a loss but I am sitting in my office while you have been out exploring Dartmoor - you look like the winner to me.
Thank you for sharing this Andy. Thimgs don't always go the way we want and we can learn from that. I went camping once to discover I'd accidentally pick up a camping chair bag instead of my tent bag. It turns out if you lie on a tarp and roll yourself up in it like a burrito you can stay pretty warm. Bloody uncomfortable though. Chin up mate, at least it was stuff that got lost and not you.
Can’t always go the way we would like it to go. At least you made it back safe, that’s the most important thing. Safe treckings my friend
Owh man, that realy is a shame, I hope you got home well, and remember: there's always a next time Andy!
Thanks for being real and not afraid to share your low/disappointing moments anyway.👍
Sorry about the equipment. However, your camera work is always amazing with or without a drone. Loved the pony shot at the end.
an honest vid Andy. Dartmoor is a challenge at the best of times , thanks for sharing mate
Sh*t happens Andy, I hope you will find your drone. Good video as always. 🤠👍
What a bummer bro. Sorry about the mishaps there Andy. Hope you recover your items. Beautiful out there, so it wasn't a waste of time. A little annoyed, sure. Well see you on the next, cheers!
oh no! i have times like that too when it all goes pear shaped. hug!
perhaps you can get gps on the drone / next drone you get
I'm glad you posted this Andy, proving not everything goes to plan in reality and shit happens. You'll bounce back mate, thanks for posting this video, it would have been easier not too. Positives, you had a nice walk on the lovely moors and have one and a half walking sticks lol.
