    No Man's Sky needs procedurally generated alien civilizations, with cities and the like. It would be difficult, but it would certainly add atmosphere.

      nms in general was probably hard to program, they need to hire more ppl, because 10-20 ppl wont cut it

    • @DisemboweII
      @DisemboweII 7 лет назад +63

      Not hard at all. Create assets for ~10 alien races (different heads, features, limbs, clothing, nonsense languages), randomise them. Instant alien races.
      It's _"effort"_ , but it's not difficult. A lot of developers are just lazy nowadays.
      Games like Captain Blood from *1988* for the fuckin' Atari, Spectrum, C64 had fully functional conversations with alien species using sign language. *_1988_* ... anything's possible if the devs actually give a shit.

    • @katrinal353
      @katrinal353 7 лет назад +19

      +Disembowell Well, that effort, is one years work, if you want something that's called "alien civilizations". It really isn't as simple as you put it. Performance will be the first big issue with this. Don't compare modern games to 1988 games...

    • @joe9832
      @joe9832 7 лет назад +10

      ~10 alien races? Look at what they did for the planets, something's telling me you'd need to have a lot of set alien colonies, that have the ability to harvest all power in their solar system (stage 2 civ? I can't remember), which could span large areas across the game. I mean, when it comes to making randomized life, they'll look crap. Maybe have some, but mainly try to go for large, set aliens, imo.

    IMO NMS needs:
    -a proper faction system
    -multiplayer
    -a purpose/goal
    -a reduced price tag

      This game needs a big purpose that comes with thousands of different challenges. Why Minecraft is popular? Because the game is open, everything is different everytime. There are monsters, dungeons, abandon mineshafts... many places that you could indulge yourself in, discover new shit and finish mental tasks. That's what No Man's Sky should achieve, rather than planets alone.

    • @FatalFist
      @FatalFist 7 лет назад +6

      Not necessarily a purpose/goal. Player can come up with that on their own, just look at Eve Online. But I definitely agree that if they invest a lot in MP - they could turn this game into a HUGE cult following. While the hand holding by the game to give you purpose doesn't need to exist for players to find purpose of their own, there needs to be options to influence players in seeking their purpose out.

      I'd like to point out that people kind of overreacted to it due to alot of misinformation. While it's true that the game wasn't what was promised at launch and Hello Games Really... really dropped the ball on some things they never should have said... (which I honestly think they should have come out and apologized for instead of hiding and their half assed attempt to make it just blow over while they worked on updating it) The game was always intended to be an experiment with Early Access funded by a top company, Sony. You can even see this back quite a ways, they intended to have 5 separate updates after the release of the game and I imagine that when they got all those refunds placed on them oh man did that blow their plans. It did have a lot of potential... but they promised more than they should have, didn't really communicate it properly, and said too much to have every little word they say be torn apart without really addressing it with clarity. The things they faced are pretty much why big game giants say nothing about their games at all.

    I believe No Mans Sky should incorporate mass base building. Yes, there already is base building but not limit you to a small circle. You should be able to build whenever you want and how far you want. Bring in aliens to live there and basically create a city on the planet. Add new weapon designs and functions, in which aliens can sell to you as you bring them in the city. Have hostile animals be drawn toward bases and try to attack. Even better if multiplayer can't be a thing, have the servers save your creations and if someone finds the planet you were on, they could find the city they built and discover who the previous explorer is.

    Create planets with incredibly hostile enemies that will swarm at you and eat your brain. Create base defenses. Now you have a mini-game where you have to build a base on a hostile planet and defend it against marauding monsters. Different planets have different monsters. Some flying, some burrowing, some that are big, lumbering beasts that will smash through smaller walls, some are small critters that swarm you. Each planet would have you changing your defense tactics.
    That in itself would give you a little more to do in the game.

      in the end, this game need something to do other than collecting useless resources. a thing that could turn such abundant resource into something
      I could see that base making could result in unnecessarily complex structure someone might make like in any other building game. but that demographic is too small to justify it

    I love how the base building is just copying subnautica

    • @mikefamey6809
      @mikefamey6809 7 лет назад +52

      everything builds off of everything, and no its not copying, subnautica = water + sometimes you can build on land, nms = land only, restricted to a small area, or home base, i wasnt aware that subnautica had landing pads, race tracks, and land rovers, OH and the fact that you can build a base on a freighter, in space lol, just because nms has glass windows, and so does subnautica, or just because they both have similar things, doesnt make it copying, copying in my mind is a direct copy, what you are describing is borrowing ideas.

    • @geek2269
      @geek2269 7 лет назад +19

      Personally I'm not discrediting the phrase Simpsons did it. of course things will be repeated, But honestly look at both games and the way the building mechanics work. On the subject of borrowing it just seems like something china would do with patents.

    • @trapbuilder2283
      @trapbuilder2283 7 лет назад +7

      While they are similar, I would hardly call it copying. It just seems like the best working way to do it.

    • @CMDKeenCZ
      @CMDKeenCZ 7 лет назад +37

      Not just Subnautica, every other survival game as well. NMS has base building for the same reason Fallout 4 has it - the devs noticed that people love to be creative and make something of their own, so they just slapped it into the game. It's a very popular feature nowadays because the vast majority of players enjoy it.

    • @ShaneMcGrath.
      @ShaneMcGrath. 7 лет назад

      Exactly!
      It's a mini game in itself. I must have spent several hours already just trying to unlock certain blueprints. So i can go gather resources to build a section of my base from glass.
      It may be boring to some people, But it's fun to me.
      See if I can build a small city and make a sign with a welcome message, See if any other player actually manages to find it and leaves a message of their own saying "OMFG" ;)
      Old saying in real life, It's not the destination but the journey that matters.
      Seems to be spot on this game, nothing in the centre of galaxy, may as well enjoy the journey. lol

    Has anybody here even heard about the game Empyrion Galactic survival? It's an open world game where you can build ships, build bases, explore, raid, player together with other people and more. It's amazing. It's what no man's sky wanted to be, you can even make custom planets which isn't so hard. From the beginning the game has 7 planets, which all are diffrent. All of the planets have stuff to do, the only downside of the game is that it's early access and ridled with bugs.

      I actually like the game and that is coming from someone who usually does not like games like this. Arch is complete and utter crap in my book, for instance.
      I've bought it on a whim during a sale a couple of month ago, was not impressed and pretty much forgot about it. A couple of days ago, after realising there was a big update (and because I was bored) I gave it another try.
      And I am impressed. A lot of things have changed and most of them to the better. One can see that the devs are really working on this game and that they have an idea of the direction their game should go.
      I kind of had my "Yeah man, I like that!" moment when I build my first base way too close to an alien base, which kept sending drones to destroy my stuff, before it was even finished. At one point I've thought _"Screw it!",_ took my rock drill, dug a cave and simply build my base underground.
      Now the drones are still coming, fly around the place where my base should be and then get shot down, so I can collect the parts. Now the enemy base is delivering a nice, constant supply of steel, machine parts and computers.
      When you can get the game on a sale, I would really recommend to try it out. In fact, Empyrion and Subnautica are pretty much the only Early Access games I would recommend.

      simple way consumers act. If there was shit in your food at a restaurant, you would never go back to it even if it was the best place now. Crazy comparison, but same idea. People lost respect for the game and the devs.

    • @mikefamey6809
      @mikefamey6809 7 лет назад +3

      Give this game multiplayer, and a goal (portals open, a story, different modes, anything to give it a goal or a reason to play), and people might be willing to throw away their salty fries, and give it another chance, maybe not all, but its worth a try. People shouldnt give up, whats the point if we all just give up on it. I dont like star wars battlefront because EA dumbed everything down, but im still looking forward to SWB2, give things chances, you might be suprised how far it gets you.

You should be able to create bases in space as well as on the ground with turrets to protect it. yYou should be able to create some kind of AI that controls one of the smaller ships and fight for you kind of like in the game from the depths were you have that AI.

      PurpleLizard 23 Yes, I believe that this game wasn't meant to be abandoned, and I think they decided to make a half game, release it with a full price game, and then start making updates. Game would be great, if there were real quests, some challenge, MULTIPLAYER and other things that people pointed out here.

      >dungeons and raids
      What game do you think this is? Nobody ever wanted that. All people wanted was a space sim game with different alien races, diplomacy, factions and meaningful exploration on unknown planets, not a shallow, empty universe with copy paste planets and pointless base building.
      The reason why this game will never be good is because the universe just feels dead. Even when you go to a huge ass space station, there's just like one cardboard cut alien standing there, and nothing else. It's an antithesis to everything this game was supposed to be.

    • @tylerthunder2001

      they should add a galactic wars and a way to choose a side along with less galaxy's
      galactic wars:
      there should be 3 teams with all types of aliens on them along with players and to add to that there sould be a way to get your own huge space ships to park your smaller ships on and to mass hold materials ( a space station parking deck to go with it) with the wars there sould also be a way to see who controls a planet and planet raids
      less galaxy's and custom characters
      less galaxy's would make it easier to find other people and have massive battles
      player customization would provide a way to see what team your on in the galactic wars so you can get armor and have it colored but not just the team colors but also neutral colors to show your not in the war if you dont want to be

  • @Murchad99

    To answer the question: Hell No.
    No Man's Sky still has the same core problems it had before the updates: the gameplay is a pointless grind, combat is rudimentary, the story is convoluted and often resembles young adult science fiction, the variation is random and meaningless, and the content available for "exploration" is unintelligent. Walking around a randomly-generated and sparsely-filled landscape may qualify as "exploration" to the industry, but if there's nothing interesting to explore besides slight variations on things you've already seen, most of which you also won't be able to use or interact with in any relevant way, is a pretty shitty rendition of the concept.
    The game had a lot of potential, even after release... but Hello Games needed to jump in, communicate with the community, and start tackling the core issues that caused even the players who claimed they liked the game to stop playing in boredom after 15 hours. HG needed to wake up from their mixed emotional rollercoaster of bliss over becoming millionaires and shock over being generally reviled and having their product trashed by consumers... and revise what clearly didn't work. Instead, over the past year, they've added superficial updates with *more toys* like dune buggies and derivative survival game staples that clearly didn't fit the game and were scotch-taped on top of the existing game, like their version of pre-designed-room Capsela base-building.
    Is the game saved?
    steamcharts.com/app/275850
    And that's only because of the attention generated by a high-priced ARG ...which as of yet has had zero impact on the game and may still turn out to be nothing more than a hype/marketing ploy with some RL swag as rewards. Before the ARG, the daily logins maxed out in the 500's. If the coming update adds portals and more story, will that save the game? Probably not. It would take a lot. The ARG hype implies that's what they're offering, but their track record, frankly, sucks.

      My issue of people who critique this game is that every time they criticize it and give their input it always ends up sounding like they want "COD:Spac3rnauts spastic streamer edition", Basically they want the same old dumbed-down hold your hand shit with a different wrapper,I could talk about GTA5online being a grind fest for little reward or even MGS5.

      Well that's empirically wrong, because I just critiqued the game and it had nothing to do with any of that.
      Since we're generalizing, here's mine:
      People who criticize the critics of this game *frequently* attempt to strawman the opposing arguments by bringing up "COD" or "spaceship pew-pew", or dismiss relevant arguments about the game's content on the grounds that the critics are "just not fans of the chill, laid-back *exploration* genre" and other types of Bulverism.

Therefore they are not "a scam," as they do exactly what they're supposed to. The promises they made about No Man's Sky were false, but those promises were about the game, not the preorder. The preorder just promised to deliver the game upon the release date, which it did.

    Having never played the game, I'll throw in my 2 cents bc it's the Internet. Have "quests" or "missions" where some one needs something special. Something in particular. You either have to find it or make it. Some times its a multi step(or multi planet) quest where you have to get different resources from different planets to build something or even have a particular order of things to be discovered so you can solve the mission.
    Maybe for this to work, there has to be a home land that you really care about and want to develop and protect. If someone finds it they can attack it. So you have to find new items or technology to bring back to develop new defenses or on the flip side new weapons to conquer other people's bases

  • @1971Corwin
    @1971Corwin 7 лет назад +84

    No offense to anyone who wants to build bases and thinks that improved the game, but in my opinon base building is a step in the wrong direction because it's completely contrary to what the game was supposed to be about: exploration. You can't fix a game by making it an entirely different game; far better for them to take that exploration theme and expand on it, giving people an actual reason to explore different worlds. Of course that was doomed the second they decided to push the "quintillion worlds" idea. Procedural generation is never going to result in memorable, specific content.

    • @SashaMasonVR
      @SashaMasonVR 7 лет назад +16

      I kinda disagree. Just because the game is focusing a lot on exploring doesn't mean that settling down in one or multiple locations is a bad thing. Look at Subnautica for example. You build bases to store ressources and craft items but you still have a lot of exploring to do to find more blueprints or materials that you need as certain components only exist in specific parts of the game, unlike No Man's Sky where you can find pretty much everything everywhere.
      Also, what is the point in exploring when there is nothing notable to find?

    • @CidGuerreiro1234
      @CidGuerreiro1234 7 лет назад +3

      Procedural generation can work (Don't Starve Together is an example of that, so is Dead Cells) but pushing it to quintillions was obviously a ludicrous idea. It doesn't count as variety if 90% of the content is essentialy the same with negligible changes that try to pass as new.

    What do you do in No Man's Sky? Do you build a pretty base? Do you fight big monsters? Do you complete quests? Do you just fill a encyclopedia with all of the galaxy's living things?
    The question is, is this even a game? Gathering resources and travelling to gather more resources to travel and yadda yadda is as much of a game as playing poker vs yourself.
    This being said, it's nice that htey have managed to make the "navigate to other, procedurally generated planets" system, but it only ends up as a shittier version of Space Engine.

    lacks the challenge of a typical sp survival - hostile creatures that actually threaten you in any way. Make planetside creatures react to you trying to settle/invade their home. make different creatures types that would react differently (hostile/welcoming etc..)
    lacks lore that would suck the player into the story - the existing lore is just plain out not interesting enough to bother with. if planet exploration would trigger some events to something interesting other than yet another pointless POI exploration would be someing worth bothering with.
    Make the different races into factions that mean something. With their own goals, pproach and agendas that at times colide giving you the choise to take a side or stay out - then add faction reputation that would dictate how they treat the player.

    Add some dangerous creatures of different types would make the game more interesting and it would make bases more useful. Also here my ideas to make the game GREAT:
    More diverse worlds,
    complex upgrade systems
    Huge crafting section
    Ship battles
    Diseases and parasites
    Weather with some unique ones
    Dangerous smart aliens
    Underwater worlds with new crafting trees and materials to gather
    Random events that change worlds like debris from space, sun explodes, etc.
    I can keep the list going.

    The claimed from the beginning it was an MMO, the game has a pause feature demonstrating it was never intended to be an MMO, they lied, they did it with forethought, they deliberately concealed the facts of the game before release knowing that they hype they built by lying was the only thing that was going to sell the game. Great vid!... My thoughts:
    First thing I'd do is incorporate sentient alien NPCs. They could give you tasks (help our planet, do a galactic survey, alien safari, etc) that not only give you rewards but serve to progress the game; and like you said possibly steal your stuff, or you could pay some NPCs to guard your stuff. Could have peaceful planets, agressive planets, xenophobic planets, plague planets; in addition to plenty of deserted planets. Also, comms and a life signs detector would be a must. Distress beacons that are in legit need of help, dead crew and thus you can take supplies (possibly a mystery to start a storyline), or a space pirate trap. Of course, there has to be an overarching mystery to solve; if it were me, I'd repurpose and incorporate those alien language stones as part of the mystery. Probably, put a galactic barrier in place and you have to find some way to get through to the center... I have an idea on how to unlock it btw. I'll be honest, it's hard not to just copy/paste tropes. And of course, multi-player. I had an idea about messing with relativistic speeds; of course not real-time, but you slow down when you enter lightspeed. This would only be adopted on multi-player mode btw.
    Just some thoughts.

      @aboodasfari4632 7 лет назад +3

      For everyone who’s saying he did promise it was multiplayer, yes, he indirectly did. He also said that the chance of meeting each other would be incredibly small, and sure enough, 0 is a pretty small number. Also, I think that slipped from his mouth and he regrets it, because if you haven’t noticed, after that he said that if you want an online space game, try destiny, it’s great. As for planets, he probably picked some very luckily generated planets that you would barely find. Thus, this small company may have made some mistakes when advertising the game, but No Mans Sky remains a great game to play, which will become much better as it receives these massive updates.

    People saying they want factions, multiplayer, and different goals is like saying a game like Shadow of the colossus should have side quests and npc's. The game was made to be an experience, not an action adventure MMO in space. The game just isn't for everyone and the developers don't have to change the game they wanted to make just to make it something more people want.

      well, they do have to change the game if they want it to survive or if they ever want to be trusted again within the gaming community surrounding any future releases. the game made some incredibly bold claims for itself, which skyrocketed the sales and turnover, those claims were never met. shadow of the colossus advertised itself pre launch as a story driven adventure, the gameplay in the trailers and demos were of content featured in the game, it advertised itself as exactly what it was, with complete transparency, on release it delivered exactly what people expected. it didnt do what no mans sky did and make statements like "every 'atom' is procedurally generated" and the game "has its own periodic table". it didnt use pre scripted and rendered 'in game' demonstrations, it also didnt flat out state the game had multiplayer functionality when it had nothing of the sort. it also didnt demonstrate random ai unscripted events taking place like rival factions having space battles to make the game seem action orientated when nothing of the sort was in the final release.
      come to think of it, it kinda did advertise itself as an action adventure mmo in space. whether it was made that way or not is irrelevant, an action adventure mmo in space was how the game was publicised and that what the consumers expected to get.

    -customizable or moddable features; like adding your own music to the game and the like

  • @Magicmushroomboi

    I feel like this game just need to be more difficult for it to work,
    In other words it would really help to add "life" to the planets
    Something like "fear the night" where a large amount of very deadly enemies come out and try to kill you or destroy what you have built as your home,
    Mechanical errors, throw in a little error system where your ship breaks down because there is something wrong with the fuel or the machine it self, would be anoying to deal with but cool.
    A survival system where you need food, water, oxygen to survive with some planets being rich in those elements and some being complete wastelands.
    A purpose or a goal, give the character characteristics, the whole game right now looks like a project made by a highschool student for a class on how dead it inside it seems to be as a game.
    More tools and items to mess around with
    Over all more creatures and living being ranging from giants to tiny in size
    Just make the game more difficult because right now t just gives everything to the player and that's it you pretty much done u have no fears in game because honestly it just looks like a game to be bored with.
    Ship building would be cool, making your own space ships that could potentially be huge and be your entire base.
    In terms of creatures again, since we are talking life beyond what we know it they can pretty much go ahead and do what ever they want and call it a creature, octopus looking creature that uses its legs upside own to walk around, ok cool make it happen.... Literally anything can be a creature and it would be cool to see it apear on certain planets

    My 2 ideas on relatively simple things to give more "point" to progressing in NMS are
    1: have the range of creature go up to being incredibly difficult/dangerous, to give people more incentive to upgrade their equipment. I also see this as a necessity BEFORE any mutliplayer is added in.
    2: a leader board. It could list the biggest creature discovered, the most planets, that kind of thing. It could be in game or even just on their website.

    IMO what this game needs is a deeper faction system with actual relations between the factions, and actual wars. Have the possibility of taking missions from different factions, sometimes conflicting missions putting you at odds against an enemy faction, and then have patrols of different factions here and there. You could add a system where certain planets are under this or that faction's control and have patrols and shit. So you'd have to either avoid them or confront them. Add actual cities to some of those planets, again, owned by the various factions (and have independent cities). More space stations that you can visit, large fleets of ships from two different factions attacking each other, etc. etc.
    And if you add perks and ranks to the factions, maybe have discounts to buy things or get access to upgrades on ships and new ships (being more useful now that there are enemy ships to attack and run away from), where you gain more possibilities and have bonuses, that would make the game feel a lot more ALIVE and it would give more incentive to do things.

    I like this game a lot too. I didn't spend as much time on it that you did to dissect it apart as such, but I'm sure your comments give the creators ideas to make the game better. I went into the game with an open mind and made it fun for what I wanted to play out, and it was great. That made all the difference for me compared to most of the negative critiques the game recieved. It was a breath of fresh air of a game. I do know that negativity spreads faster than positivity though so maybe it's a good thing that the game got a lot of negative feedback in videos. Maybe that helped fund the game to become "better". Whatever the case may be, I personally cannot make a better game myself so I am in awe and will continue to play and enjoy.

    I think Minecraft is an example that even on basic levels, giving players access to a sandbox experience WITH FRIENDS can make for loads of potential fun. Of course, sandbox is an overused term and many games, including maybe Minecraft itself, don't live up to the hype that comes with that sort of a genre, but I think Hello Games would definitely benefit from just adding a PvP element to their game. In the meantime, there are glimpses of interaction between players with the detailed coordinate system the game has built in, allowing players to locate each other's star systems, planets, and even bases other players have built. Your interactions with said objects are not shared in real-time with other players, but on server reboots they become visible. I for one am a part of one of those groups who are interacting in that way and am pulling for Hello to keep pushing forward so we can play the game they truly wanted to create.

    They're still updating it surprisingly. Hell I might actually rebuy it in the future if I get internet within a year or two

    The Atlas Rises update was pretty cool. Including plenty of graphical updates, as well as a new story to follow, making the game much more interesting. The update definitely made it much more enjoyable.

    Things they should do to make the game sell.
    1. Add building but not just base building, civilization building. Let people build cities and make landmarks unique to them with decals and every building shape possible.
    2. You should be able to destory planets
    3. Make animal encounters more interesting depending on how agressive they look
    4. Add bandits
    5. Create your own alien race to live in your civilization
    6. Edit the terrain to make beautiful landforms and landmarks

    Something that could really boost interest is psvr compatibility. The whole universe scope feature of no man's sky doesn't translate well to a TV screen, but it'd thrive in the vr setting.

    If multiplayer was added it would be nice to have a sort of a user created faction. Imagine controlling a solar system and gradually expanding. Then someone tries to invade your planets and steal resources it would be fun. it would be like ark in space.... or like space engineers

    They need mod support, players need to see eachother, amd we all need to meet on one planet to build our homeworld. Then it might get really fun.

    Add space pirates, add a goal (like reaching your homeland after being kidnapped or banished or something like that), add alien npc's which will give you quests/weapon rewards, add an incredible big creature to the universe which tries to fuck with you from time to time, add some sort of civilizations (at least little tribes, at best large cities) on several planets, add an antagonist

    Mass city building, multiplayer with PvP, and very creative ship building. You should be able to build a space hulk with friends if you get the resources. They add those things and the game would bring back half the people it lost at a minimum

    My two cents: if they add a teleporter to your bases so you can jump between them and feel like you're building a network would add a player made 'Civ' in the game.
    Then add multiplayer and yeah you could literally have nations but let's stick with single player.
    The add some new mechanics where you can have allies work in your bases, discover more types of ruins and add a generator for ancient ruins that have cool tech you could use to possibly grab one of those kick ass space stations and I could get on board for some space piracy and ancient plundering.

    HG needs to:
    1. Fix all the bugs.
    2. Have NPCs do something other than sit in one spot and never move. Ever.
    3. No more letterboxing every time you interact with something and no more allowing things to hurt you while you're helplessly watching a text box sequence.
    4. How about some dialogue instead of text boxes? Sometimes NMS feels like a (bad) text adventure game.
    5. You shouldn't have to constantly refuel everything. It adds so much grind to the game having to always gather resources to refuel mining beam, life support systems, etc. At least make the fuel for these items growable so you can be growing the refueling resources while you're doing other things.
    6. Add objectives that aren't just resource gathering or parts building.
    7. Add diversity to the planets so exploring is actually interesting.
    I already bought this game and I'm invested but if you're thinking about buying it, don't. At least not until these and other things are added/fixed.

    I would like to see multiplayer, which would obviously most likely not come into play until you get close to the middle of the galaxy. This would give you time to prepare yourself by upgrading your ships while you make your way there.
    Then maybe at/near the middle of the galaxy you could join a pvp faction or start your own? Maybe you could build large space stations for your faction/guild that could be attacked and defend itself. Could make it timed so it's in the evenings for most people so a group of shut-ins doesn't go around taking everything over.
    From there you could have events and battlegrounds, lots could be done I think.

    I was thinking include multiplayer, but have like certain areas have more abundant rare materials to make more advanced ships/weapons with higher/ more advanced life. So more players come to certain areas of galaxies (or have a single multiplayer galaxy) and people can actually set up huge bases to farm the rare material areas. They should also change the store/trading system and make each solar system bring different types of traders or the space stations have more significance. Cause they're these huge stations in the middle of a solar system but it's just a landing area and a single room

    I think maybe give the player a choice to help conservation of a planet. Plant things which the wildlife can feed off of, help protect their eggs from predators, bring creatures of the same species together and help making their dens or nests, build colonies and have an influence on what each and every planet looks like. Alter the landscapes change the flow of water build and dig the land etc. Also things like sending the player on missions to locate bizarre creatures some of which are HUGE and breathtaking to look at, others which are mysterious and you have to spend a long time trying to find them or lure them out in various ways.
