      @@TheKarvarousku : Nicee! Unfortunately I read another comment already that gave it away. I was personally confused by the lack of -censored.- My bad for making the initial assumption it was a -censored- of the words. So I got to learn something new, and reaffirm the fact that assumptions although sometimes necessary as a starting point, can often lead one far astray if not staying open to other avenues of thought.

    Building chords from intervals and now (after studying your "learn all the notes on the fretboard") somewhat from note names (I default to intervals) just makes practical sense. Learn how chords are built and then build your own.

    I don't understand why you don't have at least a million subscribers. You speak perfect English and have one of the best and comprehensive theory stuff on RUclips.

      @@ryan_millard I'd argue that many people are taught "how " to play the guitar without the teachers going into music theory. Either cause they, the teachers, don't know any music theory or they just can't explain it nearly as well as Tommy 🙂

    This is why I like to go back and make sure label the intervals of the things we already know instead of relying on "blind" shapes and patterns.

    Speaking of what "sounds good", I'm in love with sliding from 12th fret, on either Low E or A, to the 11th fret. I think it's like a cherry on top of the E pentatonic scale. ...I know I'm dumb... Whatever... My mommy says I'm special. XD

    I think you have one already but please share how to memorize the notes on the board! It's like I"m stupid and just can't retain any of it! frustrating!

      Here is a tip from when I first learned them: in C Major/A minor, the only notes a half step (one fret) away from each other are B, C and E, F. All of the other notes are a whole step apart (with one fret between them not being played).

    I know that same study, but with tetrads, as drop 2 families. It's very interesting

      Yes, you can do that too, and in drop 3 too. I just find triads (or 3-notes subsets of 7th chords) more practical in real life and easier to study. But definitely, a complete guitarist knows the tetrads too.

      Then it's likely you don't know the notes on the fretboard yet. I suggest starting there, unless you don't know the steps of the Major scale yet either. If so, this may help (I'll just copy/paste my comment from another thread here)..

      @@pnowak2 : So "ROT13" was the clue? I haven't yet read the description, and was trying to puzzle it all out and thoroughly confused by the lack of vowels.
      I guess that serves me right for assuming it was a jumbling of the words.
      At least I still learned a couple of things. lols
