This FROSLASS + Paldean TAUROS combo is SICK • Pokemon Scarlet/Violet VGC Battles

- In this video, I try out a really fun combo featuring Frost Breath Froslass and Water Paldean Tauros! Tauros's ability, Anger Point, maxes its attack when Tauros is hit by a critical hit. Froslass can always crit using Frost Breath, allowing it to immediately boost up Tauros's attack and turning it into a very potent sweeper!

Aaron has such a healthy attitude towards luck, both good and bad
Couldn't agree more. I started watching these videos to get an idea of some team-building ideas and stayed for his positive mentality and good commentary!
For sure. If he could only say “Gar-gana-cle” correctly 😂.
Honestly, I wish I could bottle up and sell his positive attitude
He also isn’t like a toxic positivity weirdo, I never feel like I’m being talked down to. Seems like a very good guy :)
You have to be like that if you want to play Pokémon long term and not tilt out of RNG. If you aren’t, one too many games lost to para flinch or a freeze that takes forever to thaw etc. and you’re just gonna quit. Just gotta let it roll off you and say “thems the mons” and move on
The way you navigated that match where Froslass missed on Tauros was incredible to watch. Shame you couldn't pull off what would have been a heist in the end, but what a game.
I wonder if he would have played differently if he realized that Bronzong COULDN’T Body Press Froslass, since that’s a Ghost type
@@DrGandW nah I really don’t think Froslass contributes anything other than Taunt and we got Taunt off in all the right positions
I cannot tell you how happy I am to see Froslass in a strat
Same lmao
Actually so dope to see this strategy in practice. I've made a similar team using fire tauros with a different ev spread and meowscarada instead of the froslass core and then use double tailwind with murk and hydreigon for my first vgc experience. I love teams like this its so fun
Pp open
Pp open
actually i think ive seen ur team on showdown
this strat also works with crabominable! too bad froslass dorsnt get trick room and bruxish lost frost breath, but i think its still something u could try if u get tr up and then switch in froslass
This meta seems so much more centered around partnering moves with ally mon’s abilities than in previous years, in my opinion anyway. (This, Lava Plume/Well-Baked Body, etc.) Love how it looks so far!
I remember series 5 and 7 in SW/SH being mostly Weakness Policy Coal or Regigigas + Weezing
I had a nice Comfey/Galarian Moltres VGC team in gen 8
@@lincolndethomasis6602 WP is really good with max since you're getting free hp to counteract the self-afflicted damage. Without the additional bulk from maxing it's a rather risky strategy
TR armarogue / baxcalibur combo is another. Cannon your opponent and bax takes a atk boost.
Watch out, they work because of the surprise factor in a best of one scenario. These starts can hardly be called "meta" as they struggle to work against a truly well made team or in a tournament.
The perception of "it's all about combos" is mainly because Aaron is having fun with these teams in the current early-ish meta scenario xD
You seem to be having more fun playing lately Aaron :3
Thanks for always working so hard, the videos are always amazing
New games are always fun to figure out and easier to have excited energy for new toys:) hopefully, Aaron enjoys this way of playing as much as I do! Tera definitely feels like the most balanced and exciting gimmick from Pokémon!
Froslass is still a Ghost type, even without Ghost moves… she’s immune to Body Press. 25:20
I'm so excited for your video every day, seeing all these different tactics is super fun.
I used Tauros and Froslass in SwSh and now also made a team with Fire Tauros and Meowscarada.
I have to say, it felt way more reliable and easy to use in SwSh with dynamax. And max strike coming from Giga Impact gave you immediate speed control in addition to Kantonian Tauros having 110 base speed instead of Paldean's 100. Also haze Murkrow being on every other team makes it very difficult now.
Happy to see people actually making it work again
Thank you for always posting teams in the comments. It saves me a lot of time when trying to figure out how to build certain Pokemon.
I love your videos and commentary. I've started talking aloud through my matches as well as a means to work through plays. It's been super helpful.
I love the designs of the new Tauros. I’m so happy they have some viability!!
Tauros + Froslass was one of my first Sw/Sh VGC teams and it was the one that I had most fun playing.
Dynamax Tauros with AV, +6 atk, increasing defenses with max steelspike/quake was a force to be reckoned with and not many opponents expected it.
One really annoying counter were redirection moves.
Thanks for bringing up good memories, Aaron :)
I used this combo for a while! Nice to see someone more experienced use it. I ran wide lens on Froslass specifically because of the game 3 situation but I still manage to miss a ton of will-o-wisps haha
so good to see the tremendous increase in views per video on this channel since Gen 9 kicked off! Loving it
Oh wow I love this, Froslass is my absolute favourite pokemon. I think this is the last push I needed to go from just watching your videos to actually trying VGC out myself
Been spam watching ur videos of late bro. Love them and highly enjoyable! Keep up the content bro! Thank you!
I’m loving the daily uploads Aaron! Keep up the great work ❤
You the goat, I actually learned so much watching these!
I like the team videos you are making im new to the pokemon vgc and im learning so much from you
Ahhhh, love this concept! Game 2 was so hype, loved seeing Tauros shine
Love you putting out so many videos. I literally just watch the new cybertron vid every morning and just repeat the process every day
thank you for all the info your videos are so cool
also it would be lovely to see tauros & flamigo team
the two turn 2x+6 attack combo
The joy with which Aaron plays is a joy to watch. 💯
1:30 am Cybertron upload? Don't mind if I do. Aaron, I just want you to know that I haven't played Pokemon in years, but I still watch your videos everyday. Thank you for the steady content man, you're doing a great job.
Thanks for watching man, and shoutouts to Abel XO 😁
nice to see Salamence, you dont see it often, also the whole Taurus strat is interesting!
We all love your work and battles so keep em comming:)
I love in you commentary you praise the pokemon on your team, its like the anime when the pokemon faint and the trainers talk to their pokemon while they return to their pokeball
Would be interesting to see how well the fire tauros variant would do as a switch-in to flower trick considering Meoscarada’s popularity.
Only Problem being that it doesnt have priority does it? Maybe with tailwind support
Could also tera fire the water tauros :)
@@SturmtrupplerNr595 They should make a fire type priority move!
@@Nako3 at least it could User Flame charge
Love these uploads especially these late nights doing homework. Feels like Im tiring out.... BAM new Cybertron video. Now I got something to push me.
Wow. I looked at both mons and knew what kinda set up it was.
I like the new snow mechanic over hail. It opens up doors for mons to stand in ice type setup teams without the threat of chip.
As a Battle Stadium Singles player, I'm learning a lot from you about Doubles. Thank you so much for entertaining. 👍
Really cool to see a combo like this. Frosslass is such a cool Pokémon. I've been trying out a bright powder snow cloak version with Abomisnow. But I need to redo part of my team to enable them better though
just discovered ur channel and i love it. also, alolan raichu has really grown on me in the recent years
I don't play VGC and play Pokemon casually but I remember you from the old tourney days and just wanted to say I found this page again and have been enjoying your style of commentary and dept!
Hello Aaron! Just wanted to thank you for all your good work, I've learned a lot of what I know about pokemon from you, having a lot of fun while doing it. I also wanted to make a sugestion: I think it would be awesome if you could make periodical videos doing meta reviews (i.e every few weeks or every time the rule set changes) and breaking down some of the teams most prevalent in each particular meta. I think a lot of people would learn a lot from a format like that, not just about the meta, but also about the reasoning behind team building. Anyway, thank you again for your hard work, saludos desde Mexico.
I actually played against this in ladder the other day, absolutely fascinating strat, wiped the floor with me haha
I work third shift alone at a hotel, and Aaron coincidentally comes through in the middle of the night with the uploads to keep things interesting.
Same!
I thought of a similar strategy with frost breath and anger point but it was during gen 8 where there were no viable anger point pokemon. Really cool to see it in use
Thank you for your uploads.
My 2 favourite pokemon are actually regional forms. Alolan Marowak is super dope with excellent offensive typing, his club for BEEG hits, and really great multiple signature moves. Galarian Slowbro is just super funny and has a great Schtick with the quickdraw + quickclaw
I’ve been wanting to do this combo with a Costar Flamigo in the back to copy the +6 attack for some really fun shenanigans!
So happy to see froslass being used in a sick VGC team!!
This is a nice strat. Thanks for sharing! :D
I've been using tauros on my vgc team since day 1 good to see it getting some love
It's amazingly humble the way such an experienced player like Aaron is actually still put on guard against someone else. After watching Cybertron since the tail end of gen 7, I think the argument can be made that he too is one of the absolute best players alive. So if he is on guard then this guy must be nuts.
Wooo!!! Another amazing video!!!
I literally caught a Water breed Tauros before bedtime,I wake up to see your video to this lol man excellent timing it was fate
In this video, 102 blinks in 55 seconds for a blistering 1.85 blinks per second. My boy Cybertron keeping up the strong blink game in his intros 💪💪💪
QOTD: favorite alternate form is probably Sandslash-A. Just love the design, which it has more use.
Also I love how excited you were in game 2 when Hydreigon swapped out. Glad to see when you enjoy making the videos. I love the daily content and learning more about the meta and VGC
First channel where I actually wait and wonder when the next vid is dropping
I actually used a team very similar to this (except with cryogonal with freeze dry and haze for dondozo and then the fire tauros), but Im excited to give this team a go!
Played Desu on the ranked ladder not too long ago super creative and fun team!
QotD: Alolan Ninetales. Love that line and making it actually have a niche that isn't a worse drought setter is nice.
Aaron! Would love to know your reasoning for the EV spread (mostly HP and ATK) on Salamence? No joke I just came up with a set last night that was 180 speed/Adamant nature but I had a choice scarf on mine to outspeed everything non-boosted in the format (your Dragon Dance is the same thing so love that I’m on the same page), but was having a tough time figuring out where to put remaining EVs with things like Gholdengo, Hydreigon, and Garchomp running around
Sorry to ask but, what bgm is playing when you're showing off the team in the beginning of the videos? I know it's from Pokemon, I just can't recall which game and where? XD
Froslass is my favorite pokemon so I was so happy to see this team
We love when you get aggressive Aaron!!
My favorite regional form is the Alolan Vulpix line. During Gen7, I was part of two local tournament circles and one of them did regular draft leagues. I was the only one pining for Alola Ninetales and got it. It ended up performing really well, both as support and as a sweeper. My favorite memory is outplaying a rain matchup (I tend to get really scared of rain, especially in singles) into a Ninetales 6-0 with a scarf and then on the rematch again, but with a Nasty Plot set because they overprepared for the scarf set from before - felt really good and kind of made Ninetales the unofficial mascot of my draft team. It's also just a beautiful design, but to be honest, what makes many of my favorites isn't the design, but specific great memories with them.
I'm surprised how well this team seems to be working. I have tried self-target strats before (specifically, I wanted to make Medicham, one of my other favorites, an enabler by skill swapping Intimidate and Pure Power) but my experience is that they are easily dismantled. But I guess I might just lack the experience to outplay stuff in VGC yet.
Great video. Cybertron, what is the interaction between Raging Bull and Tera?
This is such a feel good channel
love ure channel, wanted to ask how do u play? u connect switch to a screen?
hi Aaron, for newbies like me, can you also cover the reasons for the specific EV spreads? this will help me be aware of what to spec for when I try to DIY my own teams. sample is why 44 HP on rotom-H?
Hey Aaron, I have a question about snow and ice types with Tera. If I have abomasnow and Tera into ( insert type here) does it still get the defense boost since it's still kinda an ice type? My last question is if I Tera into an ice type with snow does that Pokémon get the defense boost during the snow turns? Any insight into this would be helpful.
As an anger point fanatic, thank you Aaron for making this video, personally I've been using fire tauros and meowscarada but I also saw trick room meowscarada and carbominable and that was crazy
An idea I've been playing around with has been Trick Room + Toxic Orb Crabominable and Merciless Toxapex, if you're interested in building some other weird/niche Anger Point teams. It's been very weird for sure, but 30 base speed Pex and 35 base speed Crab running an aoe moveset has kinda worked better than expected
Hey this the very first thing I did on showdown when the new gen came out! eyy
Also wanted to mention that Safety Goggles on froslass is surprisingly useful to avoid rage powder redirection from Amoonguss/Toedscruel. Annoying that there's no such item to stop Follow Me though.
Also, another thing I've been messing with is Anger Point Primeape with Rage Fist/Eviolite! It's pretty good too haha. The +6 attack with priority in Aqua Jet is hard to beat though
Just curious, would it be possible to EV water type Tauros in such a way where it can survive a flower trick from Meowscarada and hit back with close combat after getting to plus 6 thanks to anger point?
Love your videos. Been watching since 2016ish VGC. Do you think you could incorporate explanations of the more intricate EV spreads into the team breakdowns in the future? I often get lost when i see a mon have just 4 in each defense and more calculated spreads in general.
Of course the day I swap my tauros for the fire one you come out with this to make me reconsider haha
Thanks for the amazing vids
if you tera fire on the tauros does the raging bull switch to fire type? Almost like a pseudo tera blast
It's fun seeing which pokemon becomes *something*guy each episode
Love seeing Tauros getting use so early on
Froslass unironically my favorite pokemon you love to see it
This is so much more engaging to watch than gen 8 imo. The amount of fun people are having, with Pokemon I'm used to never seeing, is just refreshing.
About the QOTD, can you list some examples or forms? i get those and regional variants mixed up
My favorite regional mon is hands down Alolan Marowak. Love that design!
I was literally thinking about this strategy yesterday 😅 as I got a shiny paldean Taurus (the water one) a few days ago with the anger point ability. I wasn't sure if it is viable/good though so will need to watch this.
Cool team, love to see an older combo get some new tools! Salamence also looked really great, I wonder why it seems to be getting less play than some of the other psuedo legendaries like Garchomp and Hydreigon
Another Cybertron video to watch? Ah, go on then.
You make the best Pokémon Videos 🧡
great content, my favorite new from is paradox Hariyama. love my gen 3 boy
Aaron, I know all the Rotom misses was 2013 worlds PTSD.
Cool. I’ve been using the same strat with Tauros and Cryogonal as it has levitate so can run EQ on Tauros pretty freely without using a terra type on my support
Omg so cool 😎 🤙
Would fire tauros plus meow work? Then bring flamigo in the back?
Question wouldnt gargancl with purifying salt ability and fairy tera type be a better tank than grass? I mean current meta sees a lot of fire, ice and flying attacks and mons wich makes a grass type tanks in my eyes not very... effective? while fairy makes you resistant to bug, fighting, dark, ghost(purifying salt) and quasi poison because of status immunity. also your only weakness becomes steel but like most of the steel attacks and most steel pokemon used are physical and not special attackers. grass "only" has the benifit to evade amoongus spores but purifying salt also helps with most of apart of the taunt-spore-whatz-it-attack. like is there more to the grass tera then just that?
What a weird and unique combo. ♥️
In terms of the new Tauros haha
That match against Rios was insane lmaooo. Early nomination for Bo1 match of the year 😂
Would a dragon terra tauros be better since it resists electric and grass?
love it. please continue to use new strats :)
I came up with a similar strat recently and looked to see if anyone had done something similar. Mine however includes Crabominable with anger point, and also runs sash Frosslass. I do however run red card usually with costar Flamigo in the back, or telepathy Oranguru with trick room and instruct, to always ensure a safe switch in with its own benefits.
Hey Cybertron, I was wondering if you had any Tinkaton teams in the works or knew about any? I'm trying to make it work, but I'd love to see one who actually knows how to build a good team use it!
I always love it when new games release
even if the games themselves aren't the best, the first season always has the widest variety of unique /and/ viable strats :)
💀
So glad this is being covered. Ppl really don’t know
Hisui Lilligant is def my fav regional variant followed by alolan ninetails and hisui zoroark.
I did this in Sword using Tauros(lum) and Unfezant(super luck scope lens). Tailwind/protect T1 into air cutter-(EQ, CloseC, or Normal move)
For question of the day, I really love Meloetta-P. Sad it hasn't had any comp presence. But after seeing Palafin, I hope she can get use in the future.
This team's version with Meowscarada Flower Trick and Fire Paldean Tauros is also very good.
I started this video and was in a game at the same time, first game was this exact team lmao
Would Rage Fist reach 550 power if you Steel Tera an Annihilape and use Population Bomb on it?
If you terra into fire typing does raging bull change with it?
It's based on your form, not typing, so I don't think it would.
I’m curious how much has your channel grown since the release of scarlet & violet.
