Thanks so much for uploading this series! Like many, I watched this as a child and feel it has aged gracefully compared to other popular histories of the era.
I feel like I've struck gold! The Explorers is one of my all-time favorite documentary series'. For years I have hoped to watch all the episodes again, but (until now) it was very fragmentary, as far as online sources were concerned. I am sincerely grateful that you have posted this on Facebook.🙂
Wow this is awesome... thanks for uploading all these. Australia's history is just as interesting as our founding over here in America... any chance you have the series Federation that ABC put out in 1999? That's been on my to finalist for almost a couple years. I had never heard of this series but I'm absolutely looking forward to it. Thanks from an American cousin living in Florida
I agree it is an incredible story and TV series and made a lasting impact on me when I first saw the series back in the 1980s. I am glad you liked it, and unfortunately this is the only series of this genre that I have.
That is a very nice quality VHS recording. When they broadcast the episode you taped, they used a pristine studio copy. The ABC typically broadcast worn copies that had a lot of visual artifacts.
@@Alex-ok7mg Yes, but the broadcasted episodes were fairly crummy in quality as the series was frequently repeated for some years and showed wear and tear. For whatever reason, they broadcast a pristine copy when you taped it.
I have this on DVD only because the VHS tapes were in a garbage bin this was 13 yrs ago Bill Peach interpretation on this topic was outstanding . The 3 Explorers were awarded land grants but only Lawson took it up Blaxland ended his life by hanging himself and Wentworth old ironbark became an Humanitarian for human rights.
Alex you absolute legend. This is what we got when the TV and VCR got carted in to the room in 95. thank you so much for the whole series!
It's a programme you can watch over and over!
It seems like just yesterday watching this when it first aired.
1984 is just a blink away. This was a great series. It was tremendous for school kids.
Quite an innovative presentation style for the time as well.

Bill Peach was outstanding the storytelling was romantic and true.
I just discovered this series! Awesome. Must watch.
There is something special in the simple way Peach tells the story that is appealing.
Thank you so much!! Was just talking to my husband about this amazing show I watched in primary school!! Good ol Bill Peach!!
Agree, Bill somehow made it all work. Many fond memories at my end as well.
Loved this show as a kid! Thankyou so much for putting it on youtube. Fond memories. Very much appreciated.
Same for me . I thought the music was very fitting as well

Sorry, I meant RUclips! 😬
I was wondering about the facebook reference :-)
I agree these early programmes are just so hard to find.
Thanks so much for the uploads, been trying to find the series. Hope you can upload the final two episodes.
Very informative. I followed along on Google Maps, plus some other online maps of the journey. Many thanks.
I hadn't though of that - good idea
@@Alex-ok7mg Once again, many thanks for sharing. From San Diego, California, USA.
