When you applied to U-Madison were you awarded any scholarships? I got admitted to U-Madison with the Banner scholarship and well I was wondering if you can help me understand more of what it means and the different scholarships U-Madison offers
Hey dude! Thanks so much for watching :) I didn’t get any scholarships so I’m not really the best resource for that but keep me updated on this thread on how your search goes! Maybe it’ll be helpful to others too :))
@@NandanV This may be a little late but basically this is actually a financial aid offer. UW- Madison offers students a good amount of money to students who are admitted to the institution and come from low-income households. They receive this information through FAFSA and there is no application, they just choose students depending on their financial need. There are two categories to this, it could be that you become a BANNER or a FASTrack. BANNER is for non-residents and FASTrack is for residents at Wisconsin.
hi iam planning to study at UM as a part of student exchange program, i would like to know if they will charge tution fee for the semester even in student exchange program? usually other universities are not charging tution fee so iam a little confused
Hey there ! Thank you for giving such a realistic picture !! It was an amazing video ! I am also keen on pursuing my undergrad in USA. In fact I’ve already applied to Purdue and UIUC. Can u tell me why did you choose UW Madison over Purdue or UMich or UIUC for engineering ?? I am asking because they too are in the Midwest and pretty renowned for engineering ?? Do you think that UW’s engineering is worth it like does it have a good reputation across the USA mainly the employers when compared to the other big public universities in the Midwest ? P. S I also want to pursue Industrial and Systems engineering but want to incline my studies more towards AI in the later half. Is it possible at UW Madison??
Hey! Glad you found the video helpful :) I picked UW Madison cuz I looked into some of their research in the ISYE and biomedical department (my initial choice of major) and found it more interesting as compared to the others. And yeah UW Madison's ranking gets better and better every year - and ISYE especially has grown really fast and has a quite good dept. with profs making the subjects interesting to learn about. It's got good research and is increasing the ranks in CS too so you could definitely take more classes from the L&S (CS) dept. or double major in that if you're interested. In summary, UW Madison gets better and better every year
@@NandanV thank youuuuu !! And one last doubt- I have heard that UW Madison has very large class sizes. What is the approx class size of ISYE program ??
@@kunjpatel7261 you're welcome! Class size is quite large for the gen eds (basic requirements that you'll take 1.5-2 years to complete), but for ISYE classes it's a max of 100 per semester (for the classes i've had until now)
