    Why is this easier than a regular metal box. Is it because I don't need to use loomex connectors or the like?

    Sadly most power cables are stapled down so you won't ever have slack. They really need to get rid of the NEC.

    Although a great product, you can’t bury it behind a wall or ceiling.
