Listen to Swami Mukundananda graciously answer a devotee's question on what happens at the end of Kaliyuga. Swami ji has explained the length of each yuga and how the cycle goes on.
Our Vedic scriptures speak of the yugas and the mahayugas that last for millions of years. Four yugas: Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali. The mahayuga, also known as chaturyuga (four yugas combined), comprises all four yugas. These four yugas rotate in cyclical order.
The length of Satya(4 times of Kali), Treta(3 times of Kali), Dvapara(2 times of Kali) and Kali yugas is in earth years.
The duration of the yugas in terms of earth years are:
Satya-yuga 17,28,000 years
Treta-yuga 12,96,000 years
Dvapara-yuga 8,64,000 years
Kali-yuga 4,32,000 years

Good point to myself, Kaliyuga is no where near to an end, and the easiest (& sweetest) path to attaining God/liberation/freedom in this Yuga is the path of Bhakti (Devotion). So another good reason to stay put on this path of devotion 😇

This is a question that most people want to know. And Swamiji has answered it so logically and wonderfully with precise numbers.
Wow Swamiji! The cosmic time cycle is mind blowing! It makes us realize how organized and super intelligent the creator is! Also it makes us realize the urgency to aim for God realization, as Kali yuga is already so abhorring, imagine so much worse to come, better for us souls to focus on Sadhana and aim to cash in the causeless mercy and extra grace for the sincere souls, so we should aim to be sincere and try to get out of this eternal cycle of life and death.
But if kali yuga lasts for more than 400.000 years and if we are reincarnating we have tough time ahead of us. What do you think reincarnation is?
I feel so disappointed in life. But is it just because of the kali yuga?
@@armchairrockstar186 I choose to believe that Kali has no control over our will. I don't know if he does. The truth is Kali propogates adharma as he wants to end this eternal cycle. But Vishnu steps between in the form of Kalki to end Kali's influence and restore dharma. Kali can propogate adharma but we can choose to follow dharma instead. People that follow dharma will not be valued in Kali Yuga but only those who follow dharma will survive Kali Yuga.
A question that I have is that: the Greeks said the Golden age Satya Yuga was controlled when SATURN ruled.
If we think that he was so bad, how can this be??? How can the best time in history be controlled by Saturn. I don't know if the Indian mythology story is the same similar or not, but it's very interesting. Was Saturn originally good, but became bad when he became dethroned?

As a human we are curious to know what lies beyond our contemplation. Thanks to Swamiji for enlightening us with numbers. We are just 1 % into the Kaliyug and the world looks so much dysfunctional.
