Do you struggle to forgive others? How can you forgive someone who betrays you? Are you able to forgive even when someone has harmed you? If you do not forgive, what are the consequences? To learn the four secrets to forgiveness, watch this unique lecture by Swami Mukundananda. Swamiji has graciously revealed the divine knowledge on how to forgive others in response to a question from a devotee. In this video, Swamiji explains that forgiveness is an essential crowing virtue on the spiritual path. Until one has mastered the virtue of learning how to forgive, one has NOT REALLY ENTERED the spiritual realm. This is because every little situation will pull one down in the absence of ability to forgive. Swamiji further elaborates that the capability to forgive comes from situating right knowledge in the mind. Right knowledge is one that is bestowed from the Guru and validated from scriptures. It is this knowledge that makes one realize that we are living in this world of imperfect people. We are all in this materially conditioned state where people are bound to make mistakes. We can never expect that nobody will do any harm to us. This is going to happen again and again.
Forgiveness or forbearance is the ability to tolerate the offences of others, without feeling the need to retaliate. Through forgiveness, one heals the emotional wounds caused by others that would otherwise fester and disturb the mind.
Swamiji further corroborates the concept and approach by relating practical examples of from his everyday life in applying this divine knowledge. Further, the meaning of divine love is presented in relation to forgiveness. Swamiji also indicates the consequences of not making progress in this area.
We highly recommend learning the four secrets that make forgiveness easy and watching this video on a daily basis alongside your practicing till forgiveness gets situated in your heart and becomes second nature.
NOTE: A summary of this lecture has been included in the end

Forgiveness is a true spiritual virtue which has to be practiced with a pure and clean heart to completely forgive those who may have harmed us or hurt us, without wishing any punishment for that person. You should not even pray to God to punish that person. You should not say that I will not retaliate but God will take care of him. Master complete forgiveness.

Once v step on planet earth, 'forgiveness' is like 'sore throat' which is an irritation . Though v want it to leave n try hard ......It goes gradually. After lot of sore experiences......maybe v don't feel the soreness n understand instead of grumbling r just medicating.....everything in life, time is itself a medicine which heals!!😢😊

Material realm - imperfect people, they are going to wrong you and hurt you. We should realize that forgiving is the best way to overcome all the pain. "To be wronged is nothing unless you keep remembering it". Overcoming hurt means we are moving ahead, wow just forgive them again and again.
    Loved the bull example too.

Excellent explanation by Swami Mukundananda ji...Forgiving others is the essential virtue to enter in Spiritual path. Everyone of us has the experience where some one doing wrong to us. But if we feel resentment it is like bringing toxic waves into our mind. Swamiji gave the example of lady who was keep on contemplating about the wrong was done to her by somebody. Swamiji gave beautiful way to understand, We are in the material world, people are selfish and they will hurt us. We cannot expect good behavior from everyone. Even Swamiji gave the example how he was helping others by giving spiritual knowledge, even some time the same people might hurt him. Forgiving the people who has wronged you and also we need to forgive our beloved lord as God might hurt as well. God wants us to move ahead, he will also behave in such a way that we feel even God is also hurting us. God also behaving wrongly with us. God wants us to move ahead on the path by working on our self centered nature. We need to exercise on divine virtues of forgiveness, self sacrificing and so on... Swamiji gave the beautiful example of Radha Rani who was forgiving Lord Krishna all the time even he was behaving wrongly with Her. Swamiji gave the quote mentioned by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Even in our dreams we should not bring ill feeling towards others. We need to practice these divine virtues by sacrificing our self centered nature until it becomes second nature...
Thank you Swamiji, it was so enlightening...Looking forward for more videos and gems of knowledge from you...

Beautiful explanation by Swami Mukundananda ji on how we can keep our mind healthy by having no resentment. Swamiji gave beautiful quotation on resentment 'Harboring resentment is like drinking poison and thinking other person to Die'. Our expectations from the material world, self seeking nature makes us feel miserable when somebody hurts us. But if we can learn the forgiving nature, we naturally elevate ourselves internally and move ahead on the spiritual path rapidly. Swamiji gave the beautiful quotation, the divine love means eternally forgiving. Swamiji gave the example of Shree Radha and Krishna, where always Krishna wants to tease Radha and Radha used to forgive Krishna all the time. By forgiving we can exercise our love to be selfless. God wants us to elevate our mind from self seeking nature, because of this even God some times makes us to feel miserable, but we should keep progressing by increasing our tolerance by forgiving.
Thank you Swamiji for beautiful lectures, they are like torch light to show the us the divine path in the ocean of material world...We are really indebted to your kindness and caring by sharing the gems of divine wisdom...

Forgiveness leads to immense soothing effect on your conscience and soul. I did harbor grudge for 5-6 years until I have made forgiveness habit of my life; now, this habit has given me strength, power, energy, and I could enjoy each and every moment of life. Before, I could feel painful poison in my heart; whereas, now I feel calm, quiet and tranquilize. I forgive everyone : wife, relatives, a driver who misbehaves with me, a man in a queue who stares me, or anyone to that matter. The trance that I experience thereafter is unprecedented and non-parallel. Alhamdulliah, Allah guided me in the right direction.
Finally, expect from Allah who is always there to help you, but never ever have expectation from others.

This aspect of forgiveness used to cover or hide "kayarata " if you brave and got an opportunity to take a revenge but forgiven is different from you suffered but behaving like forgiver the fact here is you know you are not having capacity to save your self but pretending asif having quality of forgiveness. Thank you Swamiji, for bringing light into our lives through enlighteniing us with spiritual uplifting topics. Forgiveness is so simple, when one truly loves the Lord, our eternal father, it is automatic to love all His children & be compassionate & loving towards them,.. All living beings , children of Gods wants to feel loved, as it is in their nature, because their eternal father loves them dearly, unfortunately they are forgetful of this love, of the Lord,. because they so they caught up in themselves in their imperfect ways of pleasuring themselves through material sense gratifications & selfishness, As such it is sad to see a huge blockage of dark energy clouding their vision of the Eternal pure Lord,. So to forgive is a virtue derived from love & to wish upon all soul to regain their happiness & love with Sri Krishna,!! Godbless you Swamiji, Hare Krishna,!!

It is how the world functions. We are conditioned souls and away from God for the same reasons. If God , the most perfect entity can forgive us for our grave mistakes, then what right do we have to harbour resentment for our fellow people. It makes perfect sense now.

Swamiji, thank you for reminding us that we must learn to forgive in order to enter the spiritual realm and make progress on our spiritual journey. We need to have the right perspective - the world and people are not perfect and everything that happens to us will not be to our liking. Above all, we need to forgive for our own benefit. By keeping resentment, we will do harm to our body and eventually contaminate our mind. A resentful mind will never be able to fully surrender to God. We also need to forgive God as he may bring unfavorable situations in our lives to help us progress on the spiritual path. We can exercise our spiritual love for God through the virtue of forgiveness.

All of us in the world are imperfect and prone to do mistakes and may hurt. Our expectations from others should be accordingly nil. Keeping this prospective, it is the best interest of ours to forgive others instantly! Thank you Swamiji for the knowledge and teaching us the art of living!

A very important virtue in all our lives. And also one of the important virtues. Hankering ill thoughts rather than forgiving can only mean our downfall. It can also impact out physical and mental health. By practicing forgiveness we can be peaceful and ascend in the spiritual path. The methods taught here by Swami Ji is very practical and simple requires practice. But down the line very beneficial for all. Thank you very much Swami Ji for guiding us and helping us.

i am doing some research about this topic I think I got something from it. forgiveness is healing and divine. it is not human to forgive. it is rather a divine act. only forgivenss likens our herts tot he heart of God. i will be offering a seminar on this topic on my channel and I will be focusing on six major religions of the world. I am still diggging into it. I hope it will be out soon.

Forgiveness is the ability to tolerate the offences of others, without feeling the need to retaliate. Through forgiveness, one heals the emotional wounds caused by others that would otherwise fester and disturb the mind. Great video!

Swamiji explains that forgiveness is an essential crowning vitrue in the spiritual path. He states that if you do not forgive people in this imperfect world, then consequences are that your mind gets filled with resentment; and by harboring resentment in our heart, we are harming our body and mind. Therefore we must practice forgiveness if we want to succeed in this path.
