    You learn something new every day! I've never heard of this method but absolutely plan on trying it. I've mastered philodendron and alocasia. But anthurium have been giving me a run.

      You can do it! That’s what I love about plant parenting! You can experiment and see what works for you!

    Ok 😎I see so many that don’t have success with their plants 🌱 that I’ve never purchased one ,I like the look and your success with your plant ,I’ll wait for updates 👍🏽

      Definitely! Can’t wait to update! Currently, since this video, the inflo is starting to give off pollen! So I’m excited but when the new leaf pushes off, y’all will be the first to know and see!

    I really like this idea! I plant all my Anthuriums just in Sphagnum moss and it works, but I never thought of making a Kokedama. Think I will try it with one of my seedlings.

      Yesss! It’s kind of the same just with an added layer! But keep me updated if you do!

    I use vases. Coarse pumice or leca at the bottom and an aroid mix with lots of perlite on top.

    • @Botanicallybe

      Love that! Would you ever try Kokedama?

      @@Botanicallybe If I thought it would work better, I would try. But it seems like more work to water and such.

      Totally understandable ! And I water weekly like most of my plants but again, it’s just what works for me you know!

    How do you know when to repot (rekokedama?)? Do the roots start growing out of it?

    • @Botanicallybe
      @Botanicallybe  Месяц назад +2

      Yes, the roots will start growing out the bottom and though you can keep it with the roots outgrown, I just take it all apart and make a bigger Kokedama for it when that time comes

    This anthurium is massive and gorgeous. I can't wait to see how it adjusts to this and how big the new leaf will be. 😍😍😍

    How do you treat this method, if you have a pest situation 🤷?

    • @Botanicallybe
      @Botanicallybe  Месяц назад

      I’ve never had pests with this method but depending on what it is, you could dismantle the Kokedama (if coming from soil), treat for whatever pest, and then redo it. But I’ve not encountered a pest issue. Not saying it can’t happen, just hasn’t to me

    How long have you done this process? Im definitely trying this because I love the look! I have an anthurium warocqueanum and a silver blush coming in. Hopefully, this will be a success for me to hang the warocqueanum at least.

      My first Anthurium Kokedama (the smaller one I showed) , I’ve had for almost 3 months now! So I’m confident in this process for my Kokedamas at least! 🌱

    I’m So loving this idea one question why not use like those U pins to hold all that stuff togetherness or the T pins people use in sewing? I’m going to try that if this get too difficult for me. Thanks so much for sharing ❤

      Good question! Honestly I didn’t think about nor did I know how much of a task doing such a large kokedama would be 😅 but thanks for the idea for next time!

    My biggest concern with that method is the stem and the aroids coming from the stem. There is no support or way for it to stay moist.
    I’ve had success with all my Anthuriums using tall clear pots. I alternate moss and my DIY mix and all the stem and aroids get to grow in the pot. It’s a neat idea you have there, but not one I’d try with these beauties. Best of luck on that big beauty!

      Definitely understand your point and I’m willing to try and show what happens either way. I watch it everyday and look for signs- be it positive or negative. But thanks so much! 🙏🏽 and thanks for offering what works for you too!

    Poor Anthurium they want big pots and nurseries put these babies in such small pots. I am amazed that the plant grew such huge leaves being so root bound.

    • @Botanicallybe
      @Botanicallybe  Месяц назад

      They didn’t put it in this pot, in the sense of squeezing all of its roots in the small pot. It grew out of this pot, and obviously loved it. But I understand, I was shocked myself
