This is the only "Van lifer" channel I follow and it's for so many reasons. I absolutely love her "down home" appeal. Nikki seems to be just a genuine good person. It's family friendly. It's "normal" content. There is no aura of pretentiousness or "look at me, look at me" that so many RUclipsrs have. Nikki, don't change.
A lot of the other ones are just boring. She has Camper. I would just watch him. If she decided to quit van life.

Love how you’ve brought Justin into your videos gradually so we see the growth of that relationship. You guys seem really good together. Ps I was 43 when I got pregnant and had a healthy baby. I wouldn’t recommend waiting that long though. Now that she’s a teenager, it takes a lot to keep up with her and that generational gap. Hope all your dreams continue to come true!

First, this is one of my favorite youtube episodes that you have done. It was super nice to hear what your feelings are about so much. And very much liked how you talked about van and traveling is in your heart. This is exactly how I feel at 70. I cannot get enough of it. We (my husband 70) go out every single week. Think we missed 2 weeks this summer. We went on our first full month traveling and neither one of us of us wanted to come home. It is in my soul. Food for my soul. Thank you again for sharing your life and feelings about things

Been rooting for you since your Prius years. I used to live in my car out west in NM and it was some of the hardest times of my life.. I felt really down for a very long time and had to gain a lot of self-confidence since then. Honestly, when I discovered your chanel it was incredibly sobering in way to see a beautiful, bright positive person living in their Prius and making it almost look chic and something to aspire to lol. I completely erased the stigma that I was carrying. I was amazed at how excited and entertaining you were just showing your daily life. Now I'm actually pursuing van life to be my end goal lol. It was the most free I ever felt and now that I live a normal life it sucks lol. Moral of my story is that since discovering your channel it showed me that life is an attitude and an optimism that we can carry even through our toughest times. Im so happy your chanel blew up and wish you much success! Oh and if your ever out in New Mexico, check out, Pilar! It's so beautiful there. Fishing, hot springs, hiking and the most fragrant wild sage in the area. Even though NM can be completely sketchy, Pilar is very safe and quite magical✨

Here's an idea, Buy some land, create a Dog shelter AND a large summer camp together. The dogs interact with the campers to help the dogs feel less lonely and the campers more fun. Maybe the campers will adopt the dogs. P.S. Who doesnt like Yoda? P.P.S Love the Ghost hunting stuff!

I must admit that your precious dogs make me want to get a dog even though my life is not conducive to taking care of a dog because I live in multiple places and my wife and I already have more to take care of than we can handle.
the reality is you are an actual model to the real watcher, even we good with all with a bubbly personality, looks means nothing over personality, connection.

Meeting you for the first time today. Love your attitude and the way you answered the questions. I am a dog lover worked with dogs for over 30 years, can't think of a better life for them, always with their mum, lots of love and exercise, they both look really happy and healthy. Poor Rodney over the sheet lol it really did look as though he was trying to hide it bless him. A lot of other RUclips channels are so set up, it was a breath of fresh air that you are so natural. Nikki this could not have come at a better time. I also have a long history of eating disorders and after 12 years of solid recovery, I had a bunch of emotional triggers and am awaiting admission to an inpatient ED program.

Nikki has inspired me to start living in a vehicle I am unable to travel or live full time as of yet but hopefully in a few years I will be able to travel full time and as she states in the video you don't need a lot to start with

Your videos have been a huge motivation for me. I’m also planning to adopt 1-3 dogs soon to bring some positivity into my life and make a difference for them. Sadly, I had a dog back in 2007 who passed away due to sickness, and ever since, I’ve been too afraid to adopt again, fearing that kind of loss. But watching you has helped me find the courage. Camper is the man and I had a female dog named Sadie that looked just like your Rodney who my husband and I loved she will be up in doggie heaven for 8yrs in February but it seems like yesterday ❤❤❤

When Rodney sits and stares at you, my cat does the exact same thing. If I am sitting on the couch he is at my feet looking up at me.....waiting...for me to pick him up and put him on my lap. Cute.

As for dirty feet, try keeping a pack of adult wipes. So good for washing your pits, hands, feet,etc. I found out they are also good for wiping counter tops and toilets. One pack is about $4. 😊

try putting the van in 4wd low when using those leveling blocks. Might make it easier if power is going to the front wheels, as opposed to only the rear wheels
Suggestion: take a hair clip, the ones with teeth, magic marker leveling blocks on it, then put on your steering wheel.
I made one for propane and one for water pump. Because I once left water pump on😂

Hi Nikki, your channel is interesting because you are, you put everything in all you do. The simplest thing like eating a meal (bag salad with cool way of chopping carrots lol) and coffee (with a hair tie) is a million time more entertaining than a show or movie on TV sometimes. I totally look forward to your uploads because it brightens Friday up! It’s not Friday without you. RUclips pop you up randomly one day for me and I clicked 2 years ago curious why you make living in a car fun! I definitely can’t do it, but enjoy watching you do it. I even went back to the beginning to watch your first build and how you got to where you are, it was the best and followed ever since because you keep it real and sweet! I love your content and btw my wife and I love ALASKA too! We go at least every year mostly in March! We dont go during high tourist season. We chase the Aurora and go to the start of the Iditarod and the finish in Nome! Rent a 4x4 and go anywhere we want!!

You had muscles and muscles weigh much more than not having muscles! So good for you to choose health over thin & dead! Muscles keep you from so many health issues as we grow older! You took a stand against the industry that doesn't give a rats behind about the people😢! Good for you. If more would take a stand, the abuse could be eliminated or as least highly reduced! Like when we quit watching the abusive Bull on TV.

I like your content, but If you see having kids as a limitation in life as opposed to being one of the most meaningful things you can do in it, best not have any, even on the odd chance that it might change your mind.
Not sure where you came to this conclusion as no where have I ever said such about having them :-). All I mentioned about kids was I still wasn’t sure. I didn’t give a reason.

However, at 28:35 while talking about having kids, and maybe owning property and maybe a few other things you say you don’t want any limits in life. Do kids limit your life? As a father of 5 if you’re a good parent I’d say it does. I’d probably be living in an expensive van like yours down by the river right now if I didn’t have all 5 kids in college. However that doesn’t mean I have regrets about having kids. I’ve had many wonderful experiences with my kids and I would have a many other wonderful experiences if I never had kids. Who’s to say which is the better life but I wouldn’t change how it’s worked out for me. Hopefully, I can still get to the top of a mountain or two when I finally get my van and get to go exploring full time in a few years and I hope to see you out there!

It's tricky in the UK to car camp. The roads have walls and hedge rows so you can't really overland. Lots of area's now have no over night parking in the smaller towns. Very jealous of the US and Canadian's over landing that open space. I didn't realize the UK was so boxed in with the roads and land until I went to Latvia and noticed the open spaces. Super interesting video as always!

One thing that would help with the leveling blocks is putting the van in 4x4 low if your van has that option not 100% if they do I’m pretty sure they do! But it makes it easier to crawl up stuff and you won’t have to press on the gas as much! Hopefully this helps!

This was one of your best videos ever and I just felt like I had a great long chat with you. I was always a bit mystified by you choosing to be in the Prius but now I understand your decisions. Isn’t it amazing how the most amazing thing we want in life turns out to be our greatest nemesis. You are the most resilient, kindest, confident person and what a level had you have. At 62 I decided it was time for me to go out and get what I dreamed of a van and go to all the national parks. As you say, you learn so much along the way. I am really excited to see you travel Alaska because I really wanna do it slowly by van, but everybody says… no don’t go it’s too dangerous! I’m going there by plane and and seeing Denali, Anchorage and Seward, and then getting on a south facing Cruise liner to celebrate my daughters college graduation with my two best friends from high school in June for my 66 birthday and to mark passage of the end of my marriage after 43 years… not something I was ever planning on for my retirement years. Anyway, thank you for the joy you bring into the world and if you’re ever in Petaluma, I gotcha covered!
