Evolution tools are an embarrassment to British manufacturing ... I have bought two of their tools over the years ... I also own all the other brands between many power tools. They are on a level of Aldi or lidl DIY tools - and lets be fair Aldi and Lidl sell lettuce and veg .... this is not their specialist subject /)

I disagree, at the price point and quality they come in at I would say they are great value, they are clearly not made in the UK either. I would like to see evolution perhaps make some battery tools that are perhaps a little more unique or niche rather than drills ect. There is a chance of being the best device for a particular market. Something like a rebar bender or a paint sprayer. Something on the edge the other manufacturers can't be bothered to make

@@bodgeitwithbrian you literally agree with me - the price point is cheap. Put a different blade in any mitre saw for instance and it will cut the same materials as their one. I have bought their tools and from experience they fall to bits. Nuts unscrew over time and things go missing - this is what you expect from tools that are made 20 years ago not now. Its DIY grade stuff

It doesn't look like I agree with your experience, mine is that evolution make good reliable and accurate tools and their blades are as good if not better than other well known brands. Not one of my evolution tools has failed on me. They are great value for money in my opinion

@@bodgeitwithbrian so for instance where would you place their mitre saws or table saws against the current competition - comparable or better than what? Or what other tools are you refering to? I bought both the mitre saw and the thin hand held belt sander - both had to be replaced in less than 12 months. These are light Trade or DIY tools. My comment originally was to let people know these are not Bosch, Dewalt or Makita grade tools let alone Maffell, Hilti or Festool. They are Ryobi, or own brand supermarket,/ Screwfix tools. IF you want that then great. They do a job for a certain type of customer in certain circumstances. However if you have a £500 worktop are you going to trust these tools not to fail on you when you cut it and damage it or even a sheet of plywood at todays prices. I was disappointed that the company have set their standards at the cheap end of the market thats all.

@@bodgeitwithbrian genuinely interested because they do a couple of unique tools - I do buy across the brands because each company has their niche. The Bosch 12v installation driver for instance is about £65 bare tool (older version) and it almost does the same as the Festool one for its usual million pound price tag,.
