  • Why do we watch motovlogs? Well, for starters there’s a motorcycle and rider with ideas. Motovlogs have been around the world of RUclips for some time now but with the variety of past, present, and future generations of motorcyclist, I have created this video to demonstrate seven reasons why we venture into the world of motovlogs. This list of seven is a start, but every rider has his or her own justification on why they click play.
    Enjoy the Ryde 🔥

    What's your reason(s) for watching motovlogs? 🤔

Great 7 reasons. I really liked your point about folks with disabilities. Never thought about that before, but you're right. If, for whatever reason, you can't ride motovlogs, help to take folks along for the ride!!! Great video

For example, there are so many driving aids out there for disabled vets and it truly amazes me how they relearn to drive in their custom new cockpit. Can't say enough about them, so I'd imagine where there's a will, there's a way. The next best thing is watching though.
Thank you for the watch and feedback. Ride safe bud and keep the Dad jokes coming on your channel!

Mama says I'm not allowed to go 180mph anymore, so I live vicariously through you.

I hit like 94 or 96 on this bike... One time special. Now the Challenger is a different story...

This is a good run down of reasons. I fall into several of these categories, but the best description for me is #6- obsessed. My obsession then causes me to watch reviews of other bikes (even bikes I would never buy for myself), reviews of accessories, rides on famous motorcycle routes, trip videos (which I love), customization videos, instructional videos on riding techniques, etc.
I mentioned in one of my videos that I became interested in motorcycles as a kid because 1. I knew they were cool from just looking at them and 2. My grandfather would tell me stories of when he rode an Indian Scout once he returned home from WWII. I never lost that interest and I bought my first motorcycle as soon as I could afford one at the age of 19. Social media didn’t exist at that time, but if it did I’m positive I would have been more knowledgeable about different models of bikes. I think motovlogs are great for gaining the perspective of real world riders rather than relying on Moto journalist to give their impressions, which may be skewed by manufacturer’s influence or other factors. Obviously average riders like myself still have our own biases, but it at least offers a “real world” account of various bikes. Also, I think had motovlogs existed when I first started riding it would have alleviated some of my riding anxiety to see there are a ton of people that ride thousands of miles every year without crashing.
    Nicely done list. Now I’m
In deep introspection wondering why I’m so obsessed with motorcycles of all types. lol

I’m with you on this. I also fall into several categories and more actually. I had to cut it off to the most popular reasons in my opinion and may have a part two eventually. Lately I’ve been down the rabbit hole where people are riding Honda Monkeys across long distances. Will I get one? Definitely not but for some reason the videos are extremely entertaining.
I remember that video you are writing about. Kind of a fan over here and your channel. I love hearing the back stories of how people got into riding and the best part it some of these stories will only get others interested.
Motovlogs absolutely separate those who write versus those who ride. Unless you do both and then maybe it’s a blend but here I go again on a tangent. One of the best parts of being or watching a motovlogger is you get to do it however you want. Everyone can change the oil, ride the backroads, and show their bike but each of us has a different approach and personality. That’s one of my favorite things about this community here on RUclips, you get to see different perspectives and backgrounds along with the variety of bikes at a click of the mouse.
I wish I had strapped a GoPro on sooner. I would have loved to have seen the journey from start to present day. That MyMidLifeMoto guy did it right.

Also, I had a hard time understanding anything you were writing. You should probably clarify in video form. 💪

@@FYERFIGHTER oh man, I can definitely relate to going down rabbit holes. Several months back I went down the rabbit hole of people doing the Scooter Cannonball. Unlike the traditional cannonball runs, the Scooter Cannonball really isn’t about setting records; it’s just about completing the ride, which usually takes 8-10 days. That’s some serious commitment. I’ve also watched plenty of Ironbutt Saddlesore videos, which always impress me. I recently watched one in which the guy completed and Saddlesore on his 50th birthday riding a KLR 650.
Most recently I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of watching chopper build videos, specifically people chopping Honda Shadows 600 or 750. Of course that has created another obsession- browsing Facebook marketplace to see if I can pick up a Shadow to chop myself. Floated the idea to my wife and she asked a ridiculous question- “so you want to get rid of your bike and build a chopper?” 🤦🏼‍♂️ No, no, no, I want to keep my bike and buy another bike to chop. She didn’t really go for that idea. She’s so mean. Oh well, I can’t really complain. She never gives me grief about riding so I’m grateful for that. A friend of mine wants a motorcycle, but his wife is adamantly opposed to it because she thinks it’s a death sentence. Hmmm, maybe that’s why my wife supports my riding habit. 🤔

Finally getting back to this comment. Heck of a week and it isn't over yet. Definitely not making a new video this week or maybe even next but I see in my free time I'll be looking at cannonball runs! Since my last comment, I've moved on to motorcycle camping...
I watched a guy chop his 750 Shadow here on RUclips. Seemed the only thing he missed was the storage so he did what's best and bought another bike. Perfect! The only problem with working on a bike for a long period of time is you have no ability to ride. That is unless you get the Shadow or equivalent in addition to your MT-10. Men and women think completely different. 🤣

Damn... Well, hopefully soon and there is still plenty of good riding weather left. Sooner rather than later though!

the only reason why I am watching them so much is because I am traveling for work and couldn't bring my bike with me. I miss being on two wheels and am consuming as much content on youtube that I can find about it. lol.

I filmed another ride yesterday on the topic of feeling guilty for not riding. Weather has been pretty bad lately, so I have my reasons, but getting back on the bike after a long hiatus was certainly a great feeling. I'd imagine you will have the same feeling whenever you get back.

In Virginia one could even ride in the Atlantic ocean.
