Love this one Karen, it's stunning!. Thank you 🙏💜
You are so welcome
Just beautiful! Thanks 👍
Thank you too!
Woooow! This picture is sooo very beautiful and fascinating for me. I tried to do a city skyline (from Hamburg/Germany) in my sketchbook, but of course it is not half as fantastic as yours here, but I tried ☺. Today I saved a stick from my Magnum Ice and will try to use it next time😂. Anyhow, I learned a lot and I always do, watching your tutorials. I loooove it. You are such a fantastic teacher. Thank you dear Karen🥰💖
You are so talented. Love listening to your commentary.

Really effective technique….nice to see Prussian Blue being used….seems to be a less popular blue
Thanks Linda… you are right not as popular. Love using this colour combination 😊
Thank you Karen for this tutorial, beautiful result. I love this technique.
Thanks so much 😊
Hi Karen, I think you are brilliant at this technique! I love this painting and the others you have painted using this method! 🙌🏻😃.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial ... I've tried this ... and I've concluded : you make it look so easy but it isn't. :-) ... But, I keep practising ! Rome wasn't built in a day. Many greetings from Belgium.
Thank you! Practice really helps and it’s fun too 😊
Wonderful, thank you so much.
You're very welcome!

This is so mesmerizing! Love it!
Thank you so much!
I wonder if I could angle the card, zig zag it just slightly and make a forest scene. This is just the coolest technique I have seen in quite a while! TFS!!
That's a great idea!
Karen you are so inspiring. This is brilliant and I know when I ‘have a go’ it won’t look like yours but I have learnt so much from this. Thank you 🎨
I’m so pleased! Thank you Carol 😊
Gorgeous painting 😊

You are so welcome!
Karen, great job. I haven't done this technique in a long while. I usally use quinacridone burnt orange with thalo blue gr.shade and th blue, red shade. But I like your ven red. thank you for inspiration on such a cold day! Onna
Thank you Onna for sharing your colours. I hope you enjoy painting this one 😊
Fabulous❤
Amazingly effective - my eyes are searching into the background and in between the buildings! I wonder if there might be an application of this technique for a “green” landscape scene … 🤨. Great tutorial thank you 🙏!
Thanks so much Chris! Great suggestion 😊
Absolutely wonderful work, Karen. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I think I’ll give it a go. I heard you say that you are using Arche’s 300 grams watercolor paper. Is that 300 grams or 300 lb paper?
Thank you! Yes I’m using 300 gsm paper 😊
Love to be able to do this but I usually fail miserably! 🤣
It does take a little practice… less is more 😊
Question, I have decided to try technique for a view of a Hamburg skyline. There are green copper roofs. Any thoughts on 2 best colours to create idea some verdigris?
You could use Payne’s Grey and Viridian or Viridian and Alizarin Crimson 😊
@@KarenRiceArt I did some testing with what I have and have used prussian blue and burnt sienna. There's a nod to green in there. I've completed stage 1. Looks OK. Will try another I think to see the difference. Thank you
Stage 2 complete and it looks really effective. I've also painted some swatches for other colour combinations. I should paint more now!
I really adore your work!!!
Is it possible to use the card technique in a forest scene?
Thank you! I haven’t tried it with a forest scene. I am sure you can using a longer piece of card.
@@KarenRiceArt Thank you for fast reply! I will try that. ❤
Karen could I use card for beach scene in landscape
Absolutely, check out this seascape/beach tutorial: ruclips.net/video/CjiDu9V4ww8/видео.html
