These are beautiful & true words, I’m so grateful for the Gospel in my life & for the missionaries who taught me & baptized me in NY years ago.The Book of Mormon testifies that Jesus is the Christ, and gives great comfort to my soul and to millions of other people around the world! I’m so thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and for His Atonement, and for the knowledge that I know I will be with all of my loved ones forever. It gives me great Hope & Peace .
I love this message! This is a great reminder that we will be judged according to our works and sins, but Jesus Christ wanting to allow us to come back to our Father and Mother in Heaven and Him (Jesus Christ), He, Christ, made it possible by His Atonement and when we sincerely repent and stay faithful, we can be together again. If anyone ever wants a simple explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this and the companion videos with Corianton are a great option! ❤️
I know it's been a little while since the last video came out, but I can highly recommend the novelization of the videos that's available! It comes in a blue cover with gold lettering.
“Now from these verses and from chapter 39-42 of Alma we can gather that Corianton repented…his father, Alma, taught him a powerful and great lesson on repentance. Corianton forsook the ministry, committed that which was ‘most abominable’ but he was invited to repent and went forth to preach again. There is hope for you” - B.W.
I have question, why is there no book of Mormon videos for 1 Nephi chapters 11-14? Im just wondering, because Im trying to study a talk by Elder Bednard, Seek Learning by Faith and he suggested we study 1 Nephi 11-14 and as I was listening to the audio in Gospel Library and a thought came to mind and said hey watch the book of Mormon videos I went to search for them but there's nothing. I was just wondering why that is? And if you will make some videos regarding those chapters. That would be awesome.
But if Justice is satisfied by an Atonement equally (of necessity) as powerful as an absolute principle because of what the Lamb Of God did (or was about to do in the context of Alma's time) who should anybody care anymore about what the Law says (which not even Alma is following hardly)? And if you say the Law is still in force for every person who did live, is living or ever will live on the Earth than you'd better follow everything the Law says in Leviticus down to the smallest instruction. NO PICKING AND CHOOSING ALLOWED!!! Jesus did, without fail, which is how He earned his sinless badge which qualified Him to be the Great Sacrifice. Nothing else. Alma is all confused about this. He should have been better schooled by the Angel.
Steven Lester you have a Light of Christ (Conscience). It leads you where you need to go. When you go against it, it smothers out your guidance. Not all of us will be of the same faith or culture. So, you work on one flaw at a time. Which is why you should not judge someone on their path. You can't be perfect here on earth. It's after all we can overcome, our death will lead to perfection.
"Alma is all confused about this." Hardly mate. It's clearly you that is confused - on a lot of points. You conflate two different things, physical and spiritual death, and you misapply the meaning of atonement, of "Justice" and totally forgot about "Mercy". Mercy is the whole point, but you missed it. Let's see where you went wrong: James 2 13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. See that? There's a dependency, so your assertion "if Justice is satisfied by an Atonement equally (of necessity)" is false. This is exactly what Alma stated thusly: 13 Therefore, according to justice, the plan of redemption could not be brought about, only on conditions of repentance of men in this probationary state, yea, this preparatory state; for except it were for these conditions, mercy could not take effect except it should destroy the work of justice. 15 And now, the plan of mercy could not be brought about except an atonement should be made; therefore God himself atoneth for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice Two things need to be satisfied equally: justice, mercy Secondly, you misapply Levitical law and you conflate Levitical with Mosaic Law, as if you really have no idea what you're talking about, hence your "cherry picking" nonsense has no merit and is demonstrably false.
If I find myself not reading the scriptures I will play these videos to get me back in the groove
I like that Alma was able to council with his sons. The gift of repentance can bring us joy as we apply the Atonement into our lives.
