      Thanks a lot :) Yeah I like it black. I'm glad that I didn't paint it yellow :D

    Good to see you, my friend!!! :-) Great video. Straight to the point. Upgrades look good. Now you got a black GH2 Super G or a Super Hornet in disguise. Very cool. Those shocks changes everything. Just about to build my stock shocks, kind of a bummer after watching this, he he :-) Well, at least I got a Super Hornet with those shocks ... hrmm ,,, and an ancient and well used 1990s stock 540 27T. Probably just as fast now as a new 380. Looking forward watching your run video with this. It looks very good and very very mean now! Thumbs up!

      Thank you very much. Yeah it's basically a mixture of the old iconic Tamiya's. I can remember that I mounted a lexan body on my Grasshopper 2 (in 1992). I think it was a blalck Pontiac Trans-Am with different tires. I'm very surprised that the Tamiya ESC's that came with the actual kits do not even get warm, when running on 3S. I will try to run the Grasshopper 2 with the new suspension this week. Cheers buddy!

      Nice. Yeah, I think Tamiya is very conservative with their specs. I'm running a 10.5T TBLM-02S brushless with a TBLE-02S standard ESC. No heat at all, even though I'm at the maximum Tamiya-recommended gearing. Definitly gonna try a higher gearing then :-)

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  7 лет назад +1

      Well I'm very restricted regarding the gearing in the Grasshopper 2.

    • @NordicRC
      @NordicRC 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah I know. Even the DT-02 and DT-03 is restricted to either a 17T or a 19T, so not many options, but at least one option more than the Hoppers. But I think your GHII and GH is more than fast enough for a rigid rear axle that looses traction 50% of the time ;-)

    Moin,
    nicht schlecht! Habe gerade meinen Original Grasshopper 2 komplett zerlegt und restauriert...
    Die alten Dämpfer sind durch, weshalb ich mir auch Oildämpfer geholt habe. Werde die gleichen Längen wählen wie Du.
    Aber wie hast Du die vorderen Dämpfer befestigt? Im Video an man es nur erahnen...

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  4 года назад +1

      Danke! Vorne würde ich die Dämpfer eine Spur kürzer machen, sonst steht er schief. Im Kit gibt es zwei Dämpferhalterungen für vorne (Tamiya Schrauben-Beutel D #58643). Das sind so U-Halterungen. Damit kannst du die schön befestigen.

    • @brainsenhh
      @brainsenhh 4 года назад

      @@Remoteaddicted Danke für deine schnelle Antwort. Habe die U-Halterungen bestellt... Also, nach Deinen Erfahrungen jetzt hinten 86mm und vorne 67mm, richtig? Werde es mal testen... Danke

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  4 года назад

      Ja, ich würde die vorderen mal kürzer machen. Eventuell hast du noch irgendwo etwas weichere Federn, denn mit den Federn, die bei den Dämpfern dabei sind, bewegt sich nicht viel :)

    Great first suspension upgrade! You should really look into the double wishbone suspension kits now available.....
    THESE bits will definitely make your Hopper 3S ready!
    Cheers Murph

      @Remoteaddicted  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks a lot. There's a double wishbone upgrade? I definitely have to check it out. Thanks a lot for the hint, Murph!

    • @jamurphy8386
      @jamurphy8386 7 лет назад +1

      Absolutely! It's the coolest thing!! Check out AmPro Engineering's RUclips channel. From there, each video is a complete guide how to install each item. Also, each video has a direct link to buy each item in his Shapeways Store.
      AND, they're surprisingly affordable!!
      ....... His latest project - he's the first to make a double wishbone REAR suspension kit for Grasshopper 1/Hornet!!! 😲😲😲
      Next will be for G2 and Rising Fighter! This guy is a mad genius!

      Nice. I just checked it out. I like the idea of the double wishbone but I guess I want to keep it as original as possible. It's not my everyday rc car :)

    Got one too. And had one when I was a boy :-) Great video!! What length of shocks did you use, front and back?

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  7 лет назад

      Thanks a lot, Mike. When I was 12 I had one too. That's why I had to get the rerelease of the Grasshopper I. The length of the shocks is 70mm in the front and 87mm in the rear.

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  3 года назад +1

      Thank you. Search Tamiya #50519 (front cva shocks) and Tamiya #50520 (rear cva shocks). You might find those online or ar your local hobby shop.

      @@Remoteaddicted Sorry to be a pest. Do the shocks come with the adaptors ?

    • @Remoteaddicted

      I think those came with the kit, not with the shocks.

    • @Remoteaddicted
      @Remoteaddicted  6 лет назад +2

      The dampers are Tamiya 50519 (front) and 50520 (rear). I used the oil which came with the shocks. I'm not sure whats the exact viscosity but I would use 30wt.

    • @Remoteaddicted

      Yes. 18t pinion works. I installed the 540 15T dynamite brushed motor from the twin hammers. Not too bad on 3S :)
