    Ingredients:
    🍚1/4 cup granulated sugar
    🍯1/4 cup light brown sugar
    🧈1/2 cup butter
    🥚1 egg
    🥛1 cup milk
    🍋 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
    🥄1/2 tsp baking soda
    🌽1 cup cornmeal
    🍞1 cup all-purpose flour
    🧂1/2 tsp salt
    🌽1/2 cup canned corn
    Instructions:
    1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
    2. Melt 1/2 cup butter and mix with 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar in a large bowl. Add 1 egg and 1/2 cup canned corn, mixing until smooth.
    3. Make buttermilk by adding 1 tablespoon of white vinegar or lemon juice to a measuring cup, filling with milk to the 1-cup line, and letting it sit until thickened.
    4. Stir 1 teaspoon baking soda into the buttermilk and combine with the butter mixture.
    5. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup cornmeal, 1 cup all-purpose flour, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
    6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 22-30 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
    7. Let cool, slice, and serve warm with butter or honey.
    Tips:
    • For a sweeter cornbread, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup.
    • Add some chopped jalapenos or shredded cheese for a spicy or cheesy variation.
