“Childbearing hips” 😂 exceptional video Joe! Loved this ❤
Best genetic explanation I've seen. Great job on this. Will definitely be sharing with clients and friends!
Thank you! Appreciate that 🙏
Hands down, one of the best videos on understanding bodybuilding that I’ve ever seen. I never comment on RUclips stuff, but this was absolutely fascinating!
Every bodybuilder needs to watch this. I actually think it would help the mental health of a huge percentage of us bodybuilders out there. You explain genetics in a way that helps us understand and accept our bodies…eliminating the frustration when we “can’t build this” or “can’t look like that”.
Allows us to step back, understand our ratios, bone lengths, tendon lengths, etc….and learn how to work WITH our genetics…instead of against it.
👊🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this video. Your explanation of ratios, bone structure, muscles bellies, tendons and limbs has given me a point of focus when looking at a physique that better explains what I am looking at. Thank you very much for this!
Best video I’ve ever seen on bb genetics. 👌💪
🙏🙏🙏
Not sure how this came across my feed, but hands-down, the most thorough and informative video on physiques I’ve ever seen.
I appreciate that!👊🙏
I never comment on videos but this is by far the most educational bodybuilding explanation of human structure I have come across, thank you sir for the content
Wow, thank you! 🙏
I agree
Completely agree!! Very in depth too
One of the most informative videos ever seen.👏
I am less than 4 months from my first competition. This lecture puts things into perspective. I'm emboldened to overcome whatever my genetics are.
Men’s Physique my brother in Christ
Wish I knew this growing up, thank you for this. I finally understand exactly how genetics play a role in BB.
Dude this is the best bodybuilding genetics video of all time
👊🙏🙏🙏
We need a part2 or a more in depth version of this in the future
Full on geek mode 🙏🙏
Please more video like this
Joe, you've really been delivering these past couple of weeks, I love it
That was very well done. Thanks for putting that together.
I've had similar idea in my head for a while, but no one have ever compiled or say it out any better way than this. Thank you so much for the info.
Damn this was great. So thorough
🙏👊
Thank you for this video! Very well explained and thought out. I always try to explain it to people exactly like you have said but I needed the pics. Now I’ll just send the link! Lol
Thank you for putting in the billion years. This was awesome and much appreciated.
Epic content, finally someone made a whole video about this.
Finally a well educated video from someone who isnt about excuses. Thanks sir!
this style of video is amazing im here for all the knowledge 🙏🏾
Im late to the party and everyone is singing your praises already but this is top quality content. Will be my go to for referencing anything related to bb genetics from now on. Thank you hyperthrophy coach
thanks!! I appreciate that
Ronnie Coleman looked his best at 198lbs without steroids. His current health situation is sad.
Amazing. Greetings from BR.
Such a great vid. Love DLB got recognized. Let’s go WPD 🙌🏻💪🏻👊🏻🥳
Very informative I've known about a lot of this but the muscle belly vs tendon section was gold never even thought of it that way.
Joe you look great man. I think there are levels with genetics and when we dial in sleep, nutrition etc it’s amazing how much we can transform. I’m definitely proof of this at 42. I’m not a big guy but I’m maximized a lot of factors which helped a lot. Thankfully I have a 31 inch waist so that helps. Because my shoulders aren’t so good lol. I’m working on it, anyway thanks for the great video. I’ve learned so much from you and John Meadows (RIP) and you both really helped me transform from someone who just goes to the gym to someone who gets asked for help now in the gym. Much appreciated!!
Another chapter 💪💪 great Joe 👍👍
Great video man. Great points about the muscle bellies and tendon lengths and insertions that I've never really thought about before, but subconsciously have always thought about.
HIGHLY informative, educational and entertaining content. Very well done. I enjoyed this!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏🙏🙏
Right to the point and concise. Good shit.
Very thorough and informative. The slightly sarcastic comments add to it ... " sorry Chris, everything else you got is good, shut up..." comedy gold right there. Good job.
Exceptional, found it really interesting. Thank you
Excellent presentation Joe love and trust your content 💪🏼🙏🏼♥️
Love these new types of videos. Awesome stuff Joe :)
Great info Joe. Thank you so much!
This one of my favorite bodybuilding videos ever
👊🙏🙏🙏
thank you for your great work ! Grettings from Germany ✌
I absolutely loved this video! Thank you very much.
Awesome video mate! Keep up the great work!
African especially west african and their descendants have great genetics
For the bubbly muscles yes
Higher amounts of fast twitch muscles that can grow bigger than slow twitch too.
Upper bodies yes, legs (calves) generally poor.
africans have long legs and short torso though, I see that as a minus. And african variation is huge, compare west african supergenetics with east african somali skinny-fat genetics, the best and worst genetics in one continent
This was amazing. Thank you 😊
Wow I learned so much! Thanks!
Very well explained. Thank you for that 🙏💪
Could you continue with this type of videos? For example, explaining how exercise selection can affect to structure, "V-shape", long-insertion arms or a wide hip. Thank's for your work
Very relateable, I wasted 2.5 years workout out without proper nutrition
This was outstanding
I am very impressed by this lecturexplanation. Assiduous and insightful. This is coming from an Ifbb pro.
Martin Martinez
1997 Lightweight NPC Nationals winner!
Thanks for all the information.
Highly relevant video after Ramon vs Wesley
Really enjoyed watching this. Super interesting
👊🙏🙏🙏
I still Ronnie Coleman who is one of my favorite bodybuilder of all time was taking gear at younger age
I have big joints but fortunately I have very good genetics for building muscle. Small hips and broad clavicles is another pro I got. Great video.
amazing content Joe!
Great video! Incredibly interesting
Subscribed 🔥 ur knowledge is amazing
Slightly longer femur, shorter torso.☑
Predisposition to higher fast twitch and lower body fat + narrower waist and longer limbs. Def a cheat code for bodybuilding lol
@@MelGibsonFanwhat if my torso is as long as my legs?? Am I done for? Lmao ik it made me a shitty runner/athlete
44:00 Good video, but Flex Wheeler is supposed to have had one of the broadest clavicles? I really doubt that, I would even say it was rather narrow.
24:55 serge nubret looks so badass
Truth
20lbs of muscle natty in a year is not mediocre lol. Its very good. No one is putting on 30-50lbs of contractile tissue in a year naturally.
Idk how but make more videos like this pls
Awesome video. Surprised you didn’t touch on Big Ramy’s genetics
Amazing video well done and thank you
👊🙏
Rants brought me here 🔥🔥
This video was so amazing. So educational. Can you PLEASE do one for women, specifically bikini and wellness?
Amazing video bro
Excellent explainer!
What could Joe possibly teach me about genetics that I don't already know I said....🤯
This guy’s laugh is too funny
Hmm, this seems interesting, always wandered what do people mean by "Good Genetics "
What do you think about people that can’t put on muscle as fast as another guy. Do you think they can eventually get to the same top weight as a guy that builds muscle faster? So maybe One guy gets to 240 in a decade but can’t get any higher but, the other guy it takes two decades. So they both have the same amount of muscle they can hold, but it takes the other person longer. Is that a thing?
The teacher of the teachers, the professor of the professors, the coach of the coaches. Joe Bennett.
🙏🙏🙏
Love your videos
Good stuff Joe
I would love a professional assessment of all these factors on myself.
Genetics are a wideeee range of things! From structure to muscle insertions and gear respond, all of these things matter
Even pain tolerance and adrenal output, possibly including mentality as a cofactor of genetics
One way to make your waist looks smaller is to grow everything else bigger
Yup
What about obliques?
wow great job
Can you do the same but for women please? ☺️ it’s so interesting, and as a newbie in strength training, knowing my body’s limits would be great knowledge. Obviously still stay consistent and safe. ❤
I am 21 years old natty bodybuilder, my goal is to compete at the classic division, i love it and i think i have the genetics for it , but i still dont know how am gonna respond to gear 😂, is there a way to know who is a good responder or you will never know until you try it
Ronnie at 198 that is crazy i forgot he was that light looking insane...i guess there's possiblity of him being natural at that point
Awesome video
Thank you for doing this. It drives me nuts when I hear people misuse words regarding genetics. I am surprised how many pro bodybuilders think there is such thing as a “high Lat insertions”. The Lat inserts in the same spot in all human beings…
Informative video ❤❤❤
Flexx Wheeler was also putting 5ccs of esiclene and other seos in each head of his arm and shoulder muscles.
Truth. And that’s just what we know about 😅
Muscular Development Magazine supposedly did a genetic study (I read it) of all the cooperating athletes 15 years ago, and recent retirees, and Coleman won outright, regarding his muscle growth genetics.
Someone did a video on skin colour and birth location in relation to how developed muscles look. Seems people born closer to the equator with dark skin have an aspect of more rotund muscles as they radiate and dissipate heat easier. People from colder climates or some Asian countries have a blockier, more compact look to the muscles to retain more body heat.
true
Confirmed: I'm not gonna be mr Olympia. I had hints already but y'know, needed to be sure here😂
Talking about bone strcutures and all. I personally think that ur frame/ structure is more important than full on amount of Mass. If i compare steve reeves to for example arnold no doubt arnold is bigger in size however steve reeves wide clavicle and narrow waist maks him 10x more aesthetic compared to arnold. at least in the eyes of the general population. Not to discredit the hard work for steve reeves however i think he was carried by his genetically gifted bone structure. I think his torso is what made him aesthetic, everything flows and his pectus for some reason even benefitted him. I see the reason why people want to aim for that physique, however if you are cursed like me with small ribs cage and narrower clavicle u kinda cant get that type of aesthetic. Thou in my case my waist/ hip is small its like 27-29 however my clavicle and ribs are more narrow than said hips.
Great video, but don't think I heard delts once.
well genetics is everything from you skin tone to how durable your joints are. so, every single thing about your body is genetics.
as far as genetics in bodybuilding go, i had 2 really important examples in my life.
for anyone who has been in the sport for a while will remember the Mens physique competitor Jeff Seid. He went to my highschool and we wrestled in the same weight class. and me being 17 and him being 15 we were both super lean. he was good enough to earn a pro card and i wasnt good enough to get anywhere near a stage, at literally the exact same height and muscle mass. so i realized at that point that structure and muscle bellies are something that i just didnt have (at least the god tier structure he had).
i also was a trainer at la fitness when i was 22 and there was a guy there who in the course of 12 months went from pretty fat to a little phil heath. he no shit was a solid 245 in about a year who was blasting full and round AF everywhere. the shittiest part about it was this guy literally trained however he wanted. whatever he felt like doing that day he would do. i saw him do nothing but hang snatches for an hour. i saw him do deadlifts and curls supersetted. he went from pulling 135 to 650 in about 6 months.
that being said, those are obviously the outliers.
i think too many people let their "bad genetics" hold them back. you might be surprised if you grind
Well said. I'm less concerned with whether I have good or bad genetics, just what I am capable of achieving with what I was given.
I dont think its people "letting" thier bad genetics hold them back, its that theres no way you cant. If you have bad genetics, they hold you back, thats kind of the definition of bad genetics. They limit you. If you can "overcome" them then you didnt have bad genetics.
Its exhausting trying to fight it too. Ive spent years of my life being sore or in pain every single day when i wake. The constant food monitoring, the mental stress of having to ignore all the aching joints and stinging muscles. Its just so taxing. Its miserable.
I dont blame anyone for walking away from the hobby, i wouldnt wish this on most of my enemies.
GOAT video @hyperttoohy coach
The man is on fire with all these videos at this time..
“We can see these pics and cry together!!… “ 10:30
Joke but true
Need same video about naturals
And how to train and all like this
Just no, because a day naddy is a day wasted!
You kind of look like a jacked Ryan Reynolds with a beard, jokes aside great video
Best video ever
