  • This is a response to a viewer who wanted to know what to do if the Insert Pin is missing. The Insert Pin goes into the Box Pin. That is what aligns the zipper.
    I hope this video is valuable information for all who likes sewing and stitching their clothing items.
    Even if this looks difficult..it is not that hard to do.

    Zipper pin. Buy the way that is not fixing the zipper. That's upcycling. LOL

    You can't do that for a jacket. Can you?

    • @M-E-G-A
      @M-E-G-A  3 года назад

      It depends on the material of the jacket.
      Is it leather, synthetic leather?
      What type of zipper is it?

    well thats pretty useless if its a heavy coat no one wants to pull your leather coat over their head

    • @M-E-G-A
      @M-E-G-A  3 года назад

      If the heavy coat costed 100+.. then you can pay an experienced tailor to replace the entire length of that side. Be sure not to pay for the other side which is fine. Some zipper teeth are universally the same design, but don’t get suckered into paying a bunch of money for both sides. Unless you can live with pulling the coat over yourself for free.

    But can't you clamp on a new end slide?

    • @M-E-G-A
      @M-E-G-A  3 года назад +1

      I thought about that if you can salvage the pin from another jack. But removing it may be tricky. You’ll have to pry it off with a smaller screwdriver. And you’ll have to use nippers to clamp it precisely on the material.

    I used to do this repair in the past--- but I would sew up about the bottom third of the zipper; basically turning it into a "pull over" style. When I was younger, having a "pull over" jacket was all the rage. lol.. I had a Dallas Cowboys pull over style Starter jacket, not gonna lie.

    Why not just replace the pin at least that why it won’t look stupid

    • @M-E-G-A
      @M-E-G-A  2 года назад

      It can be difficult to stitch the pin back on. The alignment may be off but the pin won’t last for long. I’ll look into it.

    How do you fix a long coat zipper that the pin, what you cut off, is too frayed to go into the anchor box to zip the coat.

    • @M-E-G-A
      @M-E-G-A  3 года назад +2

      You could use pliers, needle nose pliers and squeeze it in shape narrow enough it’ll slide in the box again. Try that. 👍🏼

      With all repair jobs there must be Refinement.

      yes, the knotting is uh, a bit typical. Sloppy.
