Good Question! I doubt you would know it though, it’s a small engineeing firm that does consulting in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and Food/Bev industries. Right now, this early in my professional/school career I cannot point to one specifically that I want to end up in, I’m still trying to figure that out.
Thank you! I’m looking at companies to intern at summer 2021, and it’s a process lol. I want to work at a cosmetics company, but I’m considering interning in other industries because 1) there’s not a whole lot of openings for chemical engineers (let alone engineering internships) in the cosmetics industry 2) I want to keep an open mind. I know your school has a lot of resources because your co-op programs is embedded into the curriculum already, but how did you find the company and decide to intern there? Will you continue to do your sessions there?
@@jaylaellis6669 The process is draining, I agree! Our school has this website they use to send our resumes to employers, and I also used indeed, and handshake to find internships. I wasn't picky at all with the companies I applied to since my GPA isn't spectacular, I was just trying to get my foot in the door. The company I interned at was the only one out of so many applications that actually sent me an offer. For now, I plan on doing more sessions there because they have different departments I can gain experience in, (Process Engineering, Automation, Project Mngt).
so in the next semester you will take energy balance and fluid mechanics , its nice that I'm from KFUPM Saudi Arabia and we have the same curriculum, I like your videos tho keep going my friend
@@AlsworthTV yes , this is up in Canada. It’s Canadian dollars but yeah this are two of the biggest oil and gas companies here in Canada. Although the pay may be high it’s really hard to find internship / job now a days :(
@@josemanzano6187 Yeah oil/gas tends to pay a lot, I know someone that got paid $34/hr as an intern at Marathon petroleum. It's hard to find a job especially in oil/gas where the industry isn't as stable anymore.
i love studying chemistry. but when in comes to math and physics, i dont hate it, i actually like it. idk what to get for college 😭 chem e vs chemistry
Hey, bro, I hope you can reply to this message. I am 14 years old and I have a passion for chemical engineering and finance. My plan is to get a degree in chemical engineering and then a masters in finance. Could you please tell me what you think of this. Also i go to an English school and once I reach the 11th grade, I have to pick 4 subjects, do I have to pick biology for chemical engineering or could i replace it with a subject i am better at?
That's awesome that your 14 and already thinking about the future! Do you know what exactly you want to do though ? You might change your mind as you get older. I would suggest taking chemistry, calculus and physics since you'll be seeing that when get into chemical engineering.
@@AlsworthTV thanks so much for the reply man. In the future I would like to work in the finance industry and the reason I would like to take chemical engeneering is because I love chemestry, physics and math. Also many of my dads friend worked as engineers and now are in finance. Also chemical engeneering is perfect as if the finance industry gets taken over by AI, then chemical engeneering wont and I will still have a job.
@@gdr17racing51 That's a good plan! that's one reason I did chemical engineering too, it's a really versatile degree and you don't necessarily have to do chemical engineering work.

hey! im a first year taking chemical engineer too ! any suggestions what to do during first year? and also .. any tips to secure an internship ? cheers!
For the first year, try to find some friends in the major that you can study with, join an engineering related club on campus that interests you, and try your best not to procrastinate! I’ll drop a video with more tips for first year students, be on the lookout!
Hi bro, i haven't graduated from college. This will be my first year in college. And can I find an intern? and can I have a paid internship? And how I can find internship for international student?? Thanks😊
What's up bro! It's possible to find paid internships your first year, but most companies will want you to have completed at least one year in school. I've also never heard of an unpaid engineering internship unless it's research related. Here's a list of some companies I was able to find that sponsor international students www.optnation.com/blog/companies-that-hire-international-students-opt/
i already have a job lined up working for the city. thats why i chose chem E. but Even though I know somebody I still have to do all the hard work and get the degree.
What company did you intern at this past semester? What industry do you ultimately want to end up in?

That’s crazy! My friends make $27 dollars for husky and $33 for Suncor as interns ! $17 does not seem right !
Is that in oil/gas ? Yeah $17 is not spectacular, but it's avg for the first internship

chemE’s can do the same types of jobs as chemists, but not vice versa
Chemical engineers tend to make a little more like $20-$30/hr if you go into oil and gas you'll make more like $40-$50//hr
True, this was when I was an intern and working at a consulting company so the pay wasn’t the best
