broo i just started my second year in chemE and from the first day i felt so scared because the courses as hard af, but watching your videos has reminded me of my dream and my passion, thank you so much!
I love this video! Made me realized that my personality and skills as a 4th yr ChemE really fits with a Project Manager position. xoxo Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
I was originally going to put bioprocess engineer in the video, but I took it out last minute. Biotech is a growing specialty for chemical engineers though!
i really cant wait to do my in-service training and see which one will they choose for me but i can feel in my energy that Analysing processes is what iam good at.
Quite true although I might add in DCS for a process control engineer other than PLC. Both skills are more likely to go to Electrical/Control Engineer though it depends on the company.
Your vid has helped me realize what I really want to do thanx soooo much I was gonna go to chemical engineering not really knowing what it meant you saved my soul, now I’m an electrical engineering major
I get good garde in chemical engineering, but still didn’t like my major the only reason is it the closet major to nuclear engineering and im in love with that major
Hi thanks for this video! its so insightful. If you dont mind, can you share your experience/share some tips for final year Chem E students who are doing their final year projects? thank you!!
Thank you for the video! Stepping up in the quality! I think right now manufacturing/production is suited for me. It’s what my internship will involve this summer. The more I actually think about research, the less I want to do it 😭 but we’ll see what I gravitate to after my first term. Hopefully during my second term I can get a taste of another role since I’ll be at the same company for two summers, unless I really like manufacturing. Is Hershey your dream company by chance? :) And what’s your dream role? Do you want to stick with project management? I’m gonna go eat some Hershey’s kisses now.
A real one, glad someone notices!! 😊 That's awesome though, I would love to hear what you think about manufacturing after you do a term! And I agree, it's either you're really interested in research or not 😭 Hershey's is not my dream company, I just thought using them as an example would be easy to explain, but now that I'm thinking of it, I feel like they would be a cool company to work for! I want to do a more technical role for my next internship, so no to project management for now. My dream role is still yet to be discovered unfortunately ;(
Hey we have all the time to figure out what our niche is. We’ll probably be thrown into a rotational program for a full time position upon graduation anyways. I feel like everyday I’m learning about more and more unexpected companies that take on chemes. Wasn’t originally looking at agriculture, but my internship will involve producing insecticides and pesticides. Also just got an email about a consulting firm in Tennessee that constructs really nice buildings, and they’re taking on chemes for summer internships. I’m going to their info session because I’m interested to see if I’d legit be a glorified plumber if I worked for them 😭 I’m lowkey open to that position and so many more. Loving the versatility!
My goal is by the end of this school year to get a good idea of a possible niche/plan to get there *fingers crossed . I'm proud of you though! keep securing that bag, we love to see it 🙌🏾
Hi, i like your videos. Next year i'll graduate in chemical engineering and i'm worried about job perspective. In 30 years some countries will become carbon free, so thermoelectrical energy plants and refinery will reduce drastically. What do you think? P.S. Online applications can be very difficult since most companies prioritize interviewing people they've actually met. I would highly recommend going to Career Fairs at your school or through professional groups such as AIChE. Do some research before the career fair and make sure recruiters know you are passionate about joining their company to be successful in getting interviews from the Career Fair.
