    Before Traxxas fixed the wide kit I designed and 3D printed what I called anti twizzlers. I sold several hundred sets of them and it fixed the axle twisting problem. It was a lot of fun for a while :-)

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC 2 года назад +1

      @@doubleaaaron they were called anti twizzlers and and they were polycarbonate sleeves that filled the Gap created when you install the wide kit with the stock plastic axles. Without this those plastic axles would twist up like twizzlers and rip apart. Since then Traxxas updated the kit to include extended axles.

    • @doubleaaaron
      @doubleaaaron 2 года назад

      @@DoRC Oh ok. Good idea. Like I said I didnt hear of them till I saw your comment. I went with the 17mm hex extentions from hot racing and they have worked flawlessly. I've beaten my maxx to death with big jumps rough terrain and everything in between and they have held up very well. I never had a problem with it flipping because I like the monster truck aspect of a rc. I just went with them to see the difference and they really did make it a better driving truck.

    Did you ever find a good weight? I changed the front to 45 as I thought it was 30W standard. Made it way softer. Going to try 60 in the front 80 in the rear. Or would that be too thick for the rear? General bashing.

    I really don't understand the plastic wheel adapters on an RTR. That's some lazy adaptation instead of engineering. Typical Traxxas. Seems like they did you a big favor while making sure you will be frustrated and need to upgrade. That servo is slow and all plastic still. On 4S that should have loads of power and speed. You're forgetting that Americans always list prices without sales tax. That's illegal in the EU - All Euro prices include sales tax/VAT. It's still more expensive in Europe, but not as much as you think. Also, EU law mandates longer warranties on electronics, and that's partly why the original cost is higher. Americans don't seem to understand that listing prices with sales tax included is like driving a car without wheels - it matters. In many US states the sales tax is 9.5-10%. So a Maxx V2 is actually $625 in my state.

    For a fast more ground hugging truck with faster & sharper turns, with no big air jumps running on grass/dirt/pavement. Would the Arrma 6s trucks & Corally 6s trucks be a better option to the new MAXX V2 truck, due to the MAXX high c/g & no sway bars. Rear diff I have 30k, 500k and 30k mixed in the center and stock in the front. Definitely turns way better. I've just been having some issues with oversteer. Once I start turning a little bit, it just kind of stays "stuck" there and kind of starts doing unintentional donuts and it's kind of a pain to steer out of. That just isn't true. There are plenty of RC rigs that don't require that many upgrades. The new Maxx is a great truck certainly but there are plenty that don't require as many upgrades. Plastic wheel hexes and threaded hinge pins are just a poor design, I don't even think that is anything to do with profit margin, more likely they keep the same poor design because they already have those parts available and the upgrades to replace them when they inevitably break.

      @@traestorm ok, well the whole video is on whether they fixed everything that was wrong with the V1. Some things are better and some things are worse, so I think I directly answered whether it’s worse, but if you disagree… 🤷

      @@RazorRC You're missing my point. The video was fine but when you use "is the V2 worse," you imply there are issues that are worse than the V1. You then proceed to never find one thing that was worse. You list a few things they fixed and a bunch of issues the didn't but there was not a single thing that you found "worse." If the video was about what they fixed or didn't, the thumbnail title was still completely off-base.
      If you wanted to have an edgy title, something like "V2... did they get it right?" or "V2.. disappointing overall" would be accurate without hinting at something that 1) you clearly don't believe and 2) won't leave people feeling manipulated into watching the video.
      I've been pretty clear, I think. The video was fine but the thumbnail was totally misleading and manipulative. All of this feedback (even my first comment) was done in an attempt to improve you content. I was really hoping you'd look at it and try to understand why I said what I said. Maybe you will. I hope you do.

    LOL, this is more of a bash session than anything else. I think you should stay away from Traxxas and find some other brand that makes you happier.
