I think the pricepoint is ingenious with the reputation the Maxx has. Stout little beast that now comes with Widemaxx and a good set of wheels. I think its now a lot more competitive with the $599 6S arrmas considering if you don't bash super hard its a great package.
The servos do suck I've been through multiple in my v1 Maxx finally had to go to the savox 2290sg to handle it everything else I tore gears apart even in the 2085x
My stock servo still works fine even after a lot of bashing at the skatepark. I put bigger/heavier 3.8 belted badlands tires on my maxx so I upgraded to the wide-kit, 2085x and hot racing bell-crank but otherwise I would have kept it stock other than the 8990 light kit the first accessory/option I got for it
So wait all they did is make it longer and change the tires and made it close to 600 shipped, wow 👌 I think I'll just convert my Maxx, to the longer chassis and battery tray as that's the only difference lol.
For some weird reason I've dubbed this color as yuck😆 It's not like I don't like it, it was my number one color but something about it makes me feel a unicorn just threw up on it😂 Great first thoughts and probably the reason they don't want to call it a V2. I think it will take it's queues from the E-Revo and we will see a V2 5 years from now with all the updates.
Could be, Traxxas really hated updating their cars, so this one was surprising they actually changed anything. They must make a lot of money off those 6700mah batteries!
I'm adding up the parts cost in my head to update the V1 and it seems like it may just be cheaper to sell it and buy the V2. Traxxas tires and bodies are not cheap.
I really don't understand the plastic wheel adapters on an RTR. That's some lazy adaptation instead of engineering. Typical Traxxas. Seems like they did you a big favor while making sure you will be frustrated and need to upgrade. That servo is slow and all plastic still. On 4S that should have loads of power and speed. Some MBA has done the math and is happy to keep offering factory hop ups.
I never had an issue with my MAXX with stability when I got it the start of November. My other truck is a ARRMA Granite which is not very stable and the MAXX was more stable then that.
You're forgetting that Americans always list prices without sales tax. That's illegal in the EU - All Euro prices include sales tax/VAT. It's still more expensive in Europe, but not as much as you think. Also, EU law mandates longer warranties on electronics, and that's partly why the original cost is higher. Americans don't seem to understand that listing prices with sales tax included is like driving a car without wheels - it matters. In many US states the sales tax is 9.5-10%. So a Maxx V2 is actually $625 in my state.
For a fast more ground hugging truck with faster & sharper turns, with no big air jumps running on grass/dirt/pavement. Would the Arrma 6s trucks & Corally 6s trucks be a better option to the new MAXX V2 truck, due to the MAXX high c/g & no sway bars. Causing the MAXX to still roll more in really fast turns than you get with the Arrma/Corally trucks.
It’s a bit late to comment but yeah it’s really pricey especially in Canada but plastic is way stronger than metal except for driveshafts and a few other parts but why would traxxas make an rc that is full metal, that is heavy, that bends and costs lots of money to keep buying bendable parts
@@RazorRC that would be sweet. I've really been into test and tuning with mine lately. I've been playing with the diff fluid weights, gearing, and shock setup. That just isn't true. There are plenty of RC rigs that don't require that many upgrades. The new Maxx is a great truck certainly but there are plenty that don't require as many upgrades. Plastic wheel hexes and threaded hinge pins are just a poor design, I don't even think that is anything to do with profit margin, more likely they keep the same poor design because they already have those parts available and the upgrades to replace them when they inevitably break.
