Thank you for this video. I had a house built and picked out my own ceiling fans for the electrician to install. I got a "Harbor Breeze Cedar Bluff 52-in Matte Black with Rough Pine Blades Indoor Downrod or FLUSH MOUNT Ceiling Fan with Light (5-Blade)" and Flush mount install is right there in the description, but the manual only had instructions for downrod or angled downrod. So I can't really blame the electrician for using the little rod. But I have 8' ceilings and a tall neighbor whose head knocks the little pulls when he walks under it. After watching your video, my wife assisted me and I lowered the entire fan to the floor (blades lights and all). I was able to remove the rod and attach the canopy directly to the motor. It was a little tricky to reattach with no hanging cable, but 2 ladders and 2 people made it possible and now it is flush. Thanks again.

You're welcome, David. That's exactly why I did this video. The instructions didn't help at all. I wanted to make it easier for people to see how to do it. I'm grateful that you received something from the video. Best

You guys make such an adorable couple. That was an excellent video with lots of details! Well done! I personally use a hand screwdriver so I can feel the tightness. But that's me.
Also, I envy that wiring. At our flip house, the prior owner loved wiring - he LOVED it. So It was always multiple circuits in every outlet. Soldered wires (not kidding) and small boxes. I had to replace EVERY SINGLE BOX in the entire house to have enough room for his insanely complex circuits. I also had to simplify and cut down on his built-in fire hazard.
But, man did I get good at it after doing about forty outlets. How do you have 40 outlets in a home? Ask a retired electrical engineer that refused to learn code. I am also an EE but I learned the code and how to be an electrician. Pride is not something you want in this field.
    Have a great weekend guys!

Appreciate this video. Was looking at buying this fan and wasn't sure if you could truly flush mount it. Can you tell me your thoughts on this fan now as well as the room size it went in and your thoughts on it being bright enough for that space.

Chad, this fan is fantastic. It's quiet 🤫 yet strong 💪. We put it in a mid-sized room. The lighting is great because you can change the light temperature 🌡 ✨️.

That was very good explanation. I believe I could try that. That motor holder was a great option while wiring. Thanks 😊😊
