That is insanely impressive. Just wow
Thank you!
The addition of wood filler to the base definitely took this replica to the next level. Awesome!
Great piece!
It seems like you’ve been posting videos more often. I like that.
Fantastic job. Well done.
Here’s me nursing my OG Mars with the original screen and you post this and the resolution difference is crazy.
I really want to build a crysknife, and the 1984 one. Dune was a book that meant a lot to me and at some point it will have to happen.
The love you put to your master work of perfect art. Its what makes it over the top. The true extra mile. Plus your advices on technique help us to inprove our work. Thanks for sharing your gifts.
Great job!
You are amazing!!!!!!!! fantastic work ❤
Really beautiful 😊
I absolutely love it! Fantastic job!
I could be wrong but I don't think the grip is meant to be wood. Does Arrakis even have trees other than whatever is artificially brought there?
I think the brown part of the grip it's still part of the tooth and the metal bit is attached to the tooth just to help frame the handle/grip. The color on the blade section already gets darker as it gets closer to the handle.
Regardless, beautiful work, as always. Love your builds.
That is absolutely true, can’t believe I didn’t think about that 😅😂
That part of the handle pretty much lines up with the blade so it would make sense if it was one piece.
this came out amazing!! Great work!
Thank you!
Can we get an update on your Qidi printers?? Want to see how you’re liking the X-Max!
great work !
this is so good!
Thank you!
Top quality
superb!
Outstanding
Wow!! Incredible :-D
Thanks!
Great build, I've been here on your channel for a bit now and its awesome to see you reaching levels that have caught the eye of of companies like Elegoo! Also do you have a recipe for your black wash? I tend to mix black and burnt umber to make a mud type wash, but always looking for new ideas
I’ve been mostly following this recipe for mine: ruclips.net/video/IokSYHu58V8/видео.htmlsi=5Fsg5KVq6Atq5lXd
That’s sick!
Awesome!!!
Nice piece!
Btw, there is no "wood portion" of the handle. That part is in fact the root of the tooth, hence darker, and the "metal" piece is just on top of it. A crysknife dissolves when its owner dies (hence doesn't handle it anymore), and a new tooth is fitted into the metal part for whoever inherits the remains of the old knife. Handlea are often centuries old, blades only decades.
How does it know when it's owner dies?
@@trebory6it’s mentioned in the books (and in my comment).
The blades are made from parts of the sand worms and need to be touched now and then. If not, they dissolve.
I learned a lot from watching this video! Especially using a rubber spatula to mix resin, I've been using a silicone beaker with an acrylic stirrer. Did you add the flex resin for durability?
The silicone spatula is a newer addition in the shop; I had just been using the plastic scraper thing that comes with all resin printers before which worked fine. The spatula is technically safer though as it’s less likely to accidentally puncture the FEP sheet.
For durability as well as to show an example of how a bit of flexible resin mixed in can change the consistency of the final print. Especially for thinner, more delicate pieces like these that might frequently be used as part of a costume.
Great idea mixing resins. What ratio did you use for them?
I’d say it was about 15% white, 40% superflex and 45% translucent. The ratio of white may change a bit depending on how opaque your white resin seems.
@@MMsPropShop Thanks. I'll use my go to Elegoo ABS-like white resin
My Mac has decided it doesn’t want me putting drain holes in my prints with Chitubox any longer (🤬).
Is it pretty much the same process to do it in Lychee?
I haven’t used Chitubox in years so I unfortunately can’t speak to how similar the process is. I’ve always found Lychee to be a million times more user friendly though so you’d probably have no issues figuring it out.
@@MMsPropShop Excellent. Thanks!
The link to the file just goes to his Patreon page and even searching for knife, Crysknife etc doesn't yield any results there.
It’s unfortunately not available separately publicly, I believe you can DM him and he’ll sell it to you if you’re interested: instagram.com/bigfreds_customs?igsh=eGp3eDQ4MWwzbTJh
